69132f9fa6 fix(chat): remove unread-count badge from chat FAB (MUL-4374) (#5213)
The floating chat bubble's unread-count badge duplicated the chat tab's
unread indicator in the sidebar and visually overlapped it. Drop the badge;
the hover tooltip still communicates unread/running state.

cb87dd106b feat(chat): task-owned direct-chat input batches + explicit no_response outcome (MUL-4351) (#5195)
* feat(chat): task-owned direct-chat input batches + explicit no_response outcome (MUL-4351)

Direct (web/mobile) chat no longer uses the last-assistant-row as an implicit
input cursor. Each direct send now owns an immutable input batch:

- agent_task_queue.chat_input_task_id makes a task the owner of the user
messages it must consume; the send path creates the task + user message +
attachment bindings + session touch in one transaction, and the daemon is
notified only after commit. A claim reads exactly that batch, so a message
that arrives mid-run belongs to the next task and is never absorbed.
- Auto-retry inherits the root input owner and is queued at a bumped priority,
created inside FailTask's transaction so no newer chat task can jump ahead.
- CompleteTask writes exactly one assistant outcome inside the completion
transaction: a normal message, or a visible no_response outcome (with a
non-empty English fallback) when the final output is empty. The write failing
  rolls the completion back and the handler returns 5xx so the daemon retries;
the status CAS keeps it idempotent. chat:done carries message_kind.
- Web/desktop/mobile render no_response as a localized 'no text reply' state
(keeping the tool timeline), suppress Copy, keep it unread, and keep the
  session-list preview non-blank.
- Legacy/channel tasks (chat_input_task_id NULL) keep the trailing-message
selector, so a rolling deploy never replays Slack/Lark history.

Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai>

* fix(chat): scope no_response to direct tasks; don't cancel task on input read error (MUL-4351)

Addresses PR review (Niko):
- writeChatCompletionOutcome only writes a no_response row for task-owned
direct tasks (chat_input_task_id set). Legacy/channel (Slack/Lark) tasks keep
the prior behavior: empty output writes no assistant row, so chat:done carries
empty content and the channel outbound silently drops it — the no_response
fallback body never reaches an external channel.
- The daemon claim distinguishes a genuine zero-input batch from a failed
input read: on ListChatInputMessages / ListChatMessages error it returns 5xx
and preserves the dispatched task for redelivery instead of cancelling a valid
task on a transient DB error.

f4de0948a2 refactor(ui): unify ActorAvatar size tiers + round all avatars & cropper (MUL-4277, MUL-4184) (#5133)
* refactor(ui): converge ActorAvatar size to semantic tiers (MUL-4277)

Replace the free-form numeric `size` on ActorAvatar with a constrained
`AvatarSize` union (xs/sm/md/lg/xl/2xl) so avatar dimensions are chosen by
role instead of ad-hoc pixels. This eliminates the magic-number drift where
the same role rendered at different sizes across pages.

- Add `@multica/ui/lib/avatar-size` (AvatarSize union + AVATAR_SIZE_PX map +
  default tier).
- Base `ActorAvatar` (packages/ui) and business `ActorAvatar`/`AgentStatusDot`
(packages/views) now take `AvatarSize`; internal font/icon math and the
presence-dot threshold read px from the map.
- Migrate all web/desktop call sites (packages/ui + packages/views) from
numeric sizes to tiers using the role table
  (12,14->xs 16,18,20->sm 22,24,28->md 30,32,34->lg 40,44->xl 56,64->2xl).
- Token-ise the derived consumers `AgentAvatarStack` and
`IssueAgentActivityIndicator` (px looked up internally for overlap/+N math).

Out of scope (per plan): ui/avatar.tsx primitive, account-tab/AvatarPicker,
mobile, and component-name disambiguation.

* fix(ui): unify all avatars and the upload cropper to round (MUL-4277, MUL-4184)

main's avatar-shape decision rendered non-human actors (agent, squad,
system) and the workspace logo as rounded squares, and the upload cropper
mirrored that with a square crop window. Per the updated decision
(avatars_and_cropper_round_required), every avatar and the crop UI are now
circular; the square path is removed rather than left as dead config.

- Base ActorAvatar: always rounded-full (drop the isHuman/rounded-md split).
- avatar-crop-dialog: remove the AvatarCropShape/square path; crop window is
  always cropShape="round".
- avatar-upload-control: drop VARIANT_SHAPE; the control is always round and
no longer threads a shape to the dialog (variant still drives the fallback).
- Strip rounded-md/rounded-none square overrides from agent/squad/member
ActorAvatar call sites; round the read-only agent/squad static wrappers.
- WorkspaceAvatar: round the org logo so it matches the (now round) workspace
upload/crop and the shared avatar shape.

* fix(ui): make round avatar shape a hard invariant (MUL-4277)

Close the two remaining square squad-avatar paths flagged in review and
prevent call sites from re-squaring the avatar:

- base ActorAvatar: keep `rounded-full` as the last class in cn() so a
call-site `className` can no longer override the circle.
- SquadHeaderAvatar: drop `className="rounded"` (was overriding the base
circle into a small rounded square).
- SquadsPage no-avatar fallback: route through the shared ActorAvatarBase
  (`isSquad size="lg"`) instead of a hand-written rounded-md tile, so the
fallback matches the image path — one shape source of truth.

* fix(views): round the agent/squad avatar loading skeletons (MUL-4277)

The avatar placeholder skeletons on the agent/squad list, detail, and
profile-card loading states were still rounded squares (rounded-md/lg) from
the pre-round era, so the avatar visibly popped from square to circle on
load — inconsistent with the round avatars and with the member/inbox/issue
skeletons that already use rounded-full.

Round all five: agents-page, agent-detail-page, squads-page,
squad-detail-page, squad-profile-card.

4763772c4f feat(chat): auto-focus compose box on new chat (#5146)
Starting a new chat (⊕ new chat on the Chat tab, or ⊕ / switching agent
in the floating window) now pulls keyboard focus into the compose box so
the user can type immediately, instead of having to click into it first.

Focus is driven by a monotonic `focusRequest` nonce bumped only by the
new-chat handlers, so selecting an existing chat or opening one via a
`?session=` deep link never steals focus. ContentEditor.focus() latches
through to onCreate when the editor is not yet mounted (immediatelyRender:
false), so the freshly-mounted compose box focuses on its first frame.

3a3159a14a fix(ui): unify chat list & inbox list avatar size to 32px [MUL-4283] (#5121)
Chat list avatars read too large at 36px; inbox list was 28px, so the two
surfaces were inconsistent. Standardize both to 32px (the common list-row
avatar size) — chat list 36->32 (fallback placeholder size-9->size-8),
inbox list 28->32.

4a93f4ce41 fix(chat): advance selection to next chat when archiving the open session (#5110)
* fix(chat): advance selection to next chat when archiving the open session

Archiving the chat currently open in the two-pane Chat tab left the
conversation pane showing a now read-only, dangling session. Mirror the
Inbox list's handleArchive: move selection to the next chat in the
sorted, non-archived history list, fall back to the previous one, and
clear only when nothing is left. Archiving a non-open row is unchanged.

Closes MUL-4278

Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai>

* fix(chat): route archive-advance through the shared controller

Address review of #5110:

- Advance now routes through handleSelectSession so selectedAgentId stays
in sync when the next chat belongs to a different agent (a follow-up
"new chat" no longer defaults to the archived chat's agent).
- Move the advance/next-prev/clear logic into use-chat-controller
(advanceSelectionAfterArchive + archiveSession) and drive both Chat-tab
entry points from a single ChatPage.handleArchive: the thread-list row
AND the conversation header ⋯ menu (the header previously only flipped
status, stranding the user on the archived read-only conversation).
- Mobile: archiving the open fullscreen conversation returns to the list.
- Floating window: archiving the open chat now advances to the next chat
(with cross-agent sync) instead of clearing, matching the Chat tab.

Tests: controller test covers advance/fallback/clear/no-op + cross-agent
sync; thread-list test now asserts it delegates to onArchive.

956f74e1d2 fix(chat): refresh Chat V2 input placeholder without remount (MUL-4276) (#5111)
Tiptap's Placeholder only reads its text at mount, and ContentEditor had a
defaultValue-sync effect but no placeholder-sync effect. Switching between
sessions of the same agent doesn't remount the editor, so the placeholder
froze on the previous value — e.g. stuck on "This session is archived" after
visiting an archived session, even on an active, usable input.

Mutating the extension's string option at runtime does not repaint (Tiptap
snapshots a string placeholder at mount). A function placeholder, however, is
re-invoked on every decoration pass, so:

- extensions: `placeholder` option now accepts `string | (() => string)`.
- content-editor: pass a getter over a live `placeholderRef`; a new sync effect
updates the ref and dispatches an empty transaction (docChanged=false, no
onUpdate loop) to force a decoration recompute — no remount required. This
also fixes placeholder staleness when the session/agent archive state changes.
- chat-input: update the editorKey comment (placeholder no longer relies on the
  agent-switch remount).
- tests: getter reads the live value + one repaint on change; no repaint when
  the placeholder prop is unchanged.

a51ab4d551 feat(chat): Chat V2 — first-class IM-style Chat tab (MUL-4171) (#5076)
* feat(chat): Chat V2 — first-class IM-style Chat tab (MUL-4171)

Replace the floating chat FAB/window with a first-class Chat tab under
Inbox, laid out as an IM-style two-pane surface (thread list + conversation).

Highlights:
- New Chat page (packages/views/chat/chat-page.tsx) with URL-addressable
session selection; web + desktop routing wired up. Removes the old
  chat-fab / chat-window / resize-handles / context-items paths.
- IM thread list: agent avatar + last-message preview + IM timestamp, red
unread *count* badge (read-cursor model), presence-gated typing vs waiting.
Rename lives only in the conversation header ⋯ menu (not the list hover).
- Per-session conversation header (rename / view agent / delete), agent-aware
empty state (avatar + name + description + starter prompts), and a
deterministic clean-title derivation from the first message.
- Server: read-cursor unread model (migration 145) and per-user pinned agents
  (migration 146, dedicated chat_pinned_agent table + handler/queries).
New-agent welcome chat auto-enqueues a real agent run (LLM intro, no
  static template).
- Design: fade the global --border token; borderless list headers on
Chat/Inbox, kept (faded) on the conversation header.

Verified: pnpm typecheck (all packages), go build ./..., go vet, gofmt.
Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai>

* feat(chat): make new-agent welcome read as an agent-initiated intro (MUL-4230)

The "meet your new agent" chat used to insert a fake user message
("👋 Hi! Please introduce yourself …") and have the agent reply to it, so
the thread looked like the creator prompting the agent.

Drop the persisted user message. Flag the auto-created session
is_agent_intro (migration 147) and drive the intro run server-side: the
daemon builds a proactive self-introduction prompt for such sessions
(buildChatPrompt) instead of a "reply to their message" prompt. The intro
stays LLM-generated; the thread now opens with the agent's own message, as
if it reached out first.

- migration 147: chat_session.is_agent_intro
- CreateChatSession carries the flag; sendAgentWelcomeChat no longer
  persists/publishes a user message
- daemon: ChatIntro threaded from session flag → intro prompt

* feat(chat): Settings toggle for the floating chat window (MUL-4235) (#5080)

* feat(chat): Settings toggle for the floating chat window (MUL-4235)

Re-introduce the floating chat overlay on top of Chat V2 as an optional,
Settings-gated surface instead of deleting it outright.

- Settings → Preferences → Chat: a switch (floatingChatEnabled, persisted
client preference, default ON) to show/hide the floating window.
- FloatingChat wrapper owns the two gates: the preference, and the /chat
route (hidden on the tab so the same activeSessionId isn't shown twice).
- ChatFab + a compact ChatWindow that reuse the shared useChatController and
conversation components, so activeSessionId stays in lockstep with the tab.
- Restore use-chat-context-items so the overlay's @ surfaces the current
issue/project (the 'current context' affordance) — the tab stays manual.
- i18n (en/zh-Hans/ja/ko), store unit tests.

typecheck: core/views/web/desktop green. tests: chat store 9, settings 82,
chat 39 pass.

* feat(chat): dedicated Chat settings tab, floating window opt-in (MUL-4235)

Address review: give Chat its own Settings tab instead of a section inside
Preferences, and default the floating window OFF (opt-in).

- New Settings → Chat tab (chat-tab.tsx) under My Account; moves the
floating-window toggle out of the Preferences tab.
- floatingChatEnabled now defaults OFF — only an explicit enable from the
  Chat tab mounts the FAB/overlay.
- i18n: page.tabs.chat + a top-level chat block (en/zh-Hans/ja/ko);
revert the Preferences chat section and its test mock; store tests updated
  for the opt-in default.

* refactor(chat): drop starter prompts from chat empty state (MUL-4237) (#5081)

The three starter prompts (List my open tasks by priority / Summarize what
I did today / Plan what to work on next) read as filler more than help, so
remove them along with the now-unused returning_subtitle ("Try asking").

The empty state keeps its agent-aware header — avatar + "Chat with {name}"
+ optional description — and the composer stays the entry point. Locale
keys dropped across en/zh-Hans/ja/ko (parity preserved).

Based on the Chat V2 branch (parent MUL-4171, #5076), not main.

* feat(chat): pin a chat to the top of the Chat list (MUL-4240) (#5082)

Builds on Chat V2 (#5076). Adds a per-conversation pin so a user can
keep important chats at the top of the IM-style thread list, above the
activity-sorted rest.

Backend:
- migration 148: chat_session.pinned_at (nullable) + partial index; the
timestamp doubles as the pinned-group sort key and the boolean flag.
- list queries order pinned-first, then by most-recent activity.
- SetChatSessionPinned query + PATCH /api/chat/sessions/{id}/pin handler;
pinning never bumps updated_at, so an unpinned chat won't jump the list.
- ChatSessionResponse.pinned + chat:session_updated carries the new state.

Frontend:
- ChatSession.pinned; setChatSessionPinned API + useSetChatSessionPinned
with optimistic re-sort; shared sortChatSessions comparator.
- thread list: pin indicator on pinned rows + pin/unpin hover action;
list sorted pinned-first so it stays ordered after cache patches.
- realtime patch re-sorts on pin change; en/ja/ko/zh-Hans strings.

Tests: SetChatSessionPinned handler test, sortChatSessions unit tests.

* fix(inbox): match chat list selected-item style (inset padding + rounded) (#5093)

Wrap the inbox list in p-1 and give each row rounded-md/px-3 so the
selected bg-accent reads as an inset rounded card — same treatment the
chat thread list already uses — instead of a full-bleed, sharp-cornered
highlight. Content stays 16px-inset (p-1 + px-3 == old px-4).

* fix(chat): stop welcome intro session repeating the same introduction (MUL-4259)

The is_agent_intro flag on chat_session is persistent, so every follow-up turn on a welcome session re-selected the self-introduction prompt in buildChatPrompt and the agent kept replying with the same intro instead of answering the user.

Gate resp.ChatIntro at claim time on the session still having zero human (role='user') messages via a new ChatSessionHasUserMessage query: the first, message-less server-driven turn introduces the agent; once the creator replies, later turns fall back to the normal reply prompt.

Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai>

* fix(chat): address review findings + unbreak CI (MUL-4171)

- task:failed now refreshes the sessions list (invalidateSessionLists), so
the thread-list preview / unread / sort stays correct after an agent
failure — FailTask persists a failure chat_message but only broadcasts
task:failed, mirroring the chat:done success path.
- Self-heal stale chat deep links: once the sessions list has loaded and a
?session= id isn't in it (deleted / no access / never existed) with nothing
in flight, clear the selection instead of rendering an editable empty chat
that would POST into a nonexistent session. Freshly-created sessions are
exempt (they carry optimistic messages + a pending task).
- CI: add the new parameterless `chat` route to link-handler's
  WORKSPACE_ROUTE_SEGMENTS and to paths/consistency.test.ts (route set +
expectedSegments) — keeps the two in sync, fixes the failing @multica/core
  test.
- Fix a MUL-4235/MUL-4237 merge collision that broke @multica/views
typecheck: chat-window.tsx still passed the removed `onPickPrompt` prop to
  EmptyState.

Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai>

* fix(chat): self-heal dangling session in shared controller, not just ChatPage (MUL-4171)

Re-review follow-up: the stale-session self-heal only lived in ChatPage, so
the floating ChatWindow still entered from a persisted activeSessionId and
would render an editable empty chat (then POST into a nonexistent session)
when the selected session was deleted / lost access off the /chat route.

- Move the self-heal into the shared useChatController so every surface (tab
and floating window) drops a dangling activeSessionId once the sessions list
has loaded and doesn't contain it.
- Harden ensureSession: trust the current id only when it's in the loaded list
or is a just-created session still awaiting the refetch; a dangling id falls
through to create a fresh session instead of POSTing into a 404.
- Exempt just-created sessions via an OPTIMISTIC-write signal
(hasOptimisticInFlight: pending task or optimistic- message), not hasMessages
  — a session deleted elsewhere with real cached history stays eligible for
self-heal. Add a unit test for the discriminator.

* test(views): fix app-sidebar useWorkspacePaths mock for the new chat nav (MUL-4171)

The AppSidebar personal nav gained a `chat` item, so it calls
`useWorkspacePaths().chat()` at render. The app-sidebar.test.tsx mock hadn't
been updated, so `p.chat` was undefined and every render threw
`TypeError: p[item.key] is not a function`, failing @multica/views#test in CI.

- Add `chat: () => "/acme/chat"` to the mocked useWorkspacePaths.
- Route the chat-sessions query key through a mutable `chatSessions` fixture.
- Add coverage for the Chat nav: renders the link, badges the summed
unread_count, and hides the badge when all sessions are read — so this drift
  is caught next time.

Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai>

* fix(chat): use the original floating window, not the rewritten one (MUL-4235) (#5102)

Follow-up to the merged #5080, which shipped a hand-written, simplified
ChatWindow and lost the original's animations / drag-resize / expand-minimize.
The floating window is just a quick entry point — it should be the original
UI, not a rewrite.

- Restore chat-window.tsx, chat-fab.tsx, chat-resize-handles.tsx and
use-chat-resize.ts verbatim from main (0-diff): motion animations, drag
resize, expand/minimize and the session dropdown are back.
- Restore the empty_state.returning_subtitle + starter_prompts i18n keys the
original window renders (V2 had dropped them); drop the now-unused
  window.open_full_tooltip key the rewrite added.
- Settings gating is unchanged: FloatingChat still wraps the original FAB +
window, gated by floatingChatEnabled (default off) and hidden on /chat.

typecheck: core/views/web/desktop green. tests: chat + settings views 126 pass.

* feat(chat): archive chats from the list, delete only from Archived (MUL-4263) (#5098)

Restore an archive flow as the reversible sibling of delete:
- Chat list hover now offers Archive (not Delete); pin/stop unchanged.
- A footer entry ('Archived · N') opens an Archived view listing archived
chats; hard delete lives only there (hover -> unarchive + delete, with
  the existing inline confirm).
- Conversation header ⋯ menu mirrors this: active chats archive, archived
  chats unarchive/delete.

Backend: PATCH /api/chat/sessions/{id}/archive flips status active<->archived
(SetChatSessionArchived), broadcasts status on chat:session_updated so other
tabs re-sort into the right list. SendChatMessage already refuses archived
sessions, so archived chats stay read-only until unarchived.

* fix(chat): address floating-window + archived-agent review blockers (MUL-4171)

Re-review follow-up on the restored floating ChatWindow + archive flow:

1. Floating stale-session self-heal. The restored ChatWindow doesn't use the
shared controller, so its ensureSession trusted any non-empty
activeSessionId and there was no dangling-session cleanup — a deleted /
no-access persisted session could send into a nonexistent session. Ported
the same guard used for the tab: a self-heal effect that clears a dangling
activeSessionId once the sessions list has loaded, and ensureSession only
trusts an id that's in the list or has an in-flight optimistic write
(hasOptimisticInFlight, reused from use-chat-controller). handleSend seeds
the optimistic message + pending task before setActiveSession, so a
   freshly-created session is never mis-cleared.

2. Floating dropdown bypassed archive-first safety. Its active rows offered a
hard-delete, letting the floating window destroy active chats and skip the
"archive first, delete only from Archived" model. Active rows now ARCHIVE
(reversible, one-click) like ChatThreadList; the floating window offers no
hard-delete — unarchive/delete live only in the full Chat page's Archived
view (reachable via expand). Removed the now-dead delete-confirm machinery.

3. Orphan user message on archived-agent send. SendChatMessage created the
chat_message before EnqueueChatTask, which rejects an archived / runtime-less
agent — a stale client would land a user message then get a 500, orphaning
it. Added a preflight that checks the session agent's archived / runtime
state and returns 409 before any mutation, plus a handler test asserting the
send is rejected with no message persisted.

* perf(chat): fix pending-task index mismatch + cut aggregate request storm (MUL-4159)

ListPendingChatTasksByCreator was a top DB hotspot. Root cause: the partial
index idx_agent_task_queue_chat_pending (migration 040) only covers
status IN (queued, dispatched, running), but migration 109 added a fourth
in-flight status (waiting_local_directory) that both pending chat queries now
filter on. Postgres can only use a partial index when the query predicate is a
subset of the index predicate, so the 4-status query stopped using it and
degraded to a Seq Scan over the whole agent_task_queue.

Implements the reviewed P0-P3 plan in one PR:

P0 index fix (split single-statement CONCURRENTLY migrations per repo convention)
- 143: CREATE INDEX CONCURRENTLY idx_agent_task_queue_chat_pending_v2 covering
all four in-flight statuses (same column list, so GetPendingChatTask still
  benefits).
- 144: DROP the superseded 3-status index, in its own migration.

P1 SQL + handler hot path
- ListPendingChatTasksByCreator now returns cs.agent_id and states
chat_session_id IS NOT NULL so the planner can prove the partial-index subset.
- ListPendingChatTasks filters private-agent access against the already-loaded
accessible-agent set using the returned agent_id, dropping the extra
ListAllChatSessionsByCreator scan on the hot path.
- Regenerated sqlc.

P2 frontend request amplification
- FAB uses the new boolean has-any query gated on enabled:!isOpen, so the
minimised button never holds the full aggregate.
- use-realtime-sync maintains the pending aggregate (list + has-any) in place
  from task lifecycle events (queued/dispatch/running/waiting_local_directory
-> upsert; completed/failed/cancelled -> remove) instead of invalidating on
every chat:message/chat:done, with a debounced fallback invalidate for
  reconnect / unknown payloads.

P3 boolean endpoint
- GET /api/chat/pending-tasks/has-any backed by HasPendingChatTasksByCreator
(EXISTS). Permission filtering is baked in via agent_id = ANY($3); an empty
accessible-agent set short-circuits to false. The detailed list stays for the
  ChatWindow history / stop-task flows.

Tests: new handler tests cover the private-agent gate on both endpoints
(hidden from a creator who lost access, visible to the agent owner) plus the
boolean status/terminal semantics.

EXPLAIN (ANALYZE, BUFFERS) on a 300k-row reproduction:
- before (3-status index): Parallel Seq Scan, ~300k rows filtered,
  shared hit=3012, 12.1 ms.
- after (v2 index): Index Scan on idx_agent_task_queue_chat_pending_v2,
  shared hit=131, 0.07 ms.

* fix(chat): stop optimistic cross-session pending aggregate writes from workspace-fanout task events (MUL-4159)

Review on PR #5018 flagged a real privilege-escalation bug in the P2 change:
use-realtime-sync optimistically upserted the cross-session pending aggregate
(pendingTasks / pendingTasksHasAny) from chat task:* events. Those events are a
workspace fanout delivered to every member (server still BroadcastToWorkspace,
see cmd/server/listeners.go), and the payload carries no creator / agent
visibility. So member B starting a chat task could flip member A's FAB to
has_pending=true, bypassing the server-side permission filter on
/api/chat/pending-tasks[/has-any].

Fix (option 1 from the review — the self-contained one): never optimistically
write the aggregate from task:* events. On every task lifecycle transition,
debounced-invalidate the aggregate so it is refetched through the
permission-filtering endpoint, which only returns the caller's own
creator-owned, accessible-agent tasks. The per-session pendingTask cache is
still written directly — it is keyed by chat_session_id and only rendered for
sessions the user can open (server-gated), so it is not a cross-user leak.
chat:message is still excluded from aggregate refresh, so the MUL-4159 request
storm stays fixed; task transitions are per-task and coalesced by the debounce.

- Removed upsertPendingAggregate / removePendingAggregate.
- Added exported refetchPendingChatAggregate(qc, wsId) — an invalidate, never a
setQueryData — used by the debounced handler.
- Regression tests: refetchPendingChatAggregate leaves the cached
has_pending/list untouched (no optimistic write) and only invalidates for an
authoritative server-filtered refetch; no-ops without a workspace id.

Verified: @multica/core + @multica/views typecheck; full core vitest suite
(752 tests) green including the 2 new guard tests.

Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai>

* chore(chat): address review nits on pending-tasks endpoints (MUL-4159)

- Restore the GetPendingChatTask godoc first line that was clipped when the
  has-any handler was inserted (nit#1).
- ListPendingChatTasks short-circuits to an empty list when the caller has no
accessible agents, mirroring HasPendingChatTasks — skips the DB round-trip
  (nit#2).
- Add a cross-creator negative test: user A's in-flight task on a
workspace-visible agent returns has_pending=false / empty list for user B,
locking the cs.creator_id tenant gate that the agent-visibility filter does
  not cover (nit#3).

Verified: go build ./... and go test ./internal/handler -run PendingChatTasks
(7 tests) green against live Postgres.

c84a939c83 fix(views): enable multi-file selection on all attachment upload buttons (#4962)
The FileUploadButton component already fans out per-file onSelect
callbacks and every editor surface already handles N concurrent
uploads (drag-drop and paste were multi-file all along), but five
call sites never passed the `multiple` prop, so the OS file dialog
capped picks at one file: chat composer, create-issue modal,
quick-create modal, issue description, and feedback modal.

cb68669c73 feat(composio): gate MCP apps behind feature flag (#4876)
* feat(composio): server-side connect flow + connections REST (Notion MVP) (MUL-3720) (#4608)

* feat(composio): server-side connect flow + connections REST (Notion MVP) (MUL-3720)

Compose the merged server/pkg/composio SDK into a user-facing connection
manager: signed-state connect handshake, local user_composio_connection
mirror, idempotent disconnect, and a per-user MCP session helper (not yet
wired into task dispatch).

- migration 127_user_composio_connection (no FK/cascade, per DB rules)
- sqlc queries: upsert (idempotent on user_id+connected_account_id), list
  active, owner-scoped get, mark revoked
- internal/integrations/composio: signed HMAC-SHA256 state, BeginConnect,
  CompleteCallback (idempotent upsert), ListConnections, Disconnect
(upstream 404 = idempotent success), CreateMCPSession (no-op when empty,
  pins connected_accounts per toolkit), CallbackRedirect
- REST handlers under /api/integrations/composio (user-scoped, 503 when
  COMPOSIO_API_KEY unset): connect/init, callback (302), connections list,
  delete
- router wiring gated by COMPOSIO_API_KEY; COMPOSIO_AUTH_CONFIGS_JSON maps
toolkit->auth_config (MVP: notion); state secret from COMPOSIO_STATE_SECRET
or derived from JWT_SECRET; callback base from COMPOSIO_CALLBACK_BASE_URL
  or MULTICA_PUBLIC_URL
- tests: state (expire/tamper/wrong-secret), service (mapping, callback
idempotency, non-success, disconnect owner/404 idempotency, MCP pin),
handlers (httptest), redact regression for Bearer mcp_ tokens

MVP scope: Notion only; no task-dispatch overlay, sharing, or webhook
event handling (later stages).

* fix(composio): bind callback account to user + idempotent revoked disconnect (MUL-3720)

Address PR 4608 review (CHANGES_REQUESTED):

- callback: verify connected_account_id with Composio before mirroring it.
The signed state only proved user/toolkit/exp, so a valid state paired with
a tampered connected_account_id would be written verbatim. CompleteCallback
now calls ListConnectedAccounts and fails closed (ErrAccountVerification)
unless the account belongs to the state's user (composio_user_id == multica
user id) and was created under the toolkit's auth config. No row is written
on mismatch / unknown account / upstream error.

- disconnect: short-circuit to a no-op when the local row is already revoked,
before touching upstream. Previously a second DELETE re-hit Composio and a
non-404 upstream error surfaced as a 502, breaking the 204-idempotent
  contract.

- CreateMCPSession: document the v1 single-active-connection-per-(user,toolkit)
constraint and make duplicate selection deterministic (newest-wins, rows are
connected_at DESC) instead of order-dependent map overwrite. Stage 3 owns the
  real single-account-enforcement vs multi-account-shape decision.

Tests: tampered/wrong-auth-config/unknown-account callback rejection, revoked-row
disconnect no-op (asserts upstream not re-hit). composio pkg 85% coverage; all
green.

* feat(composio): list all toolkits + dynamic auth-config resolution (MUL-3720)

Yushen's follow-up to the Notion MVP: surface the full Composio toolkit
catalog, render it in Settings, and drop the static env mapping in favor of
dynamic auth-config discovery.

Config correctness (per Composio docs):
- Remove COMPOSIO_AUTH_CONFIGS_JSON entirely. The toolkit→auth_config mapping
is now resolved at request time from the project's /auth_configs (cached,
5-min TTL), so enabling a toolkit is a dashboard action, not a redeploy.
- Do NOT add COMPOSIO_PROJECT_ID. The project API key (x-api-key) authenticates
to exactly one project; the project is resolved from the key. Only org-level
endpoints use x-org-api-key, which this integration never calls.

Backend:
- SDK: server/pkg/composio/auth_configs.go — ListAuthConfigs (toolkit_slug,
  is_composio_managed, show_disabled, limit, cursor).
- service: dynamic resolver (authConfigMap cache; betterAuthConfig prefers a
custom/white-label config over Composio-managed, newest wins); BeginConnect
and CompleteCallback resolve via it; ListToolkits fetches the full catalog
(paginated, capped) annotated with connectable = has an enabled auth config,
  connectable-first ordering.
- handler + route: GET /api/integrations/composio/toolkits (user-scoped, 503
  when COMPOSIO_API_KEY unset) returning slug/name/logo/category/connectable.

Frontend:
- core: ComposioToolkit/ComposioConnection types, api client methods, and
  composio query options (@multica/core/composio).
- views: Settings → Integrations now has a Composio section rendering every
  toolkit as a card with search. Connect is gated on `connectable`;
non-connectable toolkits show a muted "not configured" hint instead of a
dead button. Connected toolkits show a badge + Disconnect (with confirm).
- i18n: composio block added to en/zh-Hans/ja/ko settings.

Tests: SDK + service (dynamic resolution, custom-over-managed preference,
connectable flag, resolver-error soft-degrade) and handler toolkits endpoint;
composio pkg 85.7% coverage. go build/vet/gofmt clean; core+views typecheck,
core+views lint, and core tests (691) all green.

* fix(composio): close cross-toolkit callback fail-open by signing auth_config_id into state (MUL-3720)

Re-review blocker: CompleteCallback resolved the toolkit's auth config at
callback time and ignored a resolve error/empty result, while
verifyAccountOwnership skipped the auth-config comparison when the expected
value was empty. A user could then pass another toolkit's connected_account_id
into this toolkit's callback — the owner check passed and it was written under
the wrong toolkit_slug/account binding.

Fix: the auth_config_id is already resolved in BeginConnect (before the state
is signed), so sign it into the state and compare it exactly at callback. No
re-resolve, no fail-open. verifyAccountOwnership now fails closed when the
expected auth config is empty (rejects instead of skipping) and requires an
exact match — closing the cross-toolkit binding gap.

Tests: state round-trips auth_config_id; BeginConnect signs it; callback
rejects wrong/cross-toolkit auth config and an empty (no-mapping) auth config
fails closed. composio pkg 85.2% coverage, all green.

Frontend (non-blocking): the Composio settings tab now surfaces an error when
the connections query fails instead of silently rendering everything as
unconnected.

Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai>

* fix(composio): hide Settings section entirely when integration unconfigured (MUL-3720)

Decision (option 2, hide-then-merge): don't show a card that leaks the internal
COMPOSIO_API_KEY env-var name to every end user. IntegrationsTab now gates the
whole Composio section (heading + body) on the toolkits query — a 503 means the
key is unset, so the section is withheld instead of rendering the not-configured
card. Admin-only setup guidance is a later, role-gated affordance.

Removed the notConfigured card (and now-unused ApiError import) from
ComposioTab; it only mounts when configured. views typecheck + lint clean.

* fix(composio): callback endpoint should not require Multica auth (MUL-3843) (#4709)

* fix(composio): move OAuth callback out of the Auth group (MUL-3843)

Composio 302-redirects the browser to /api/integrations/composio/callback
at the end of the OAuth flow, but PR #4608 mounted it inside the cookie-auth
middleware group. When the session cookie is absent (expired session,
SameSite=Strict / Safari ITP, private window, self-hosted callback subdomain)
the Auth middleware returned a hard 401 and a JSON blob instead of the
settings redirect, breaking the flow.

Identity never came from the cookie anyway: it is carried by the HMAC-signed
state param that CompleteCallback verifies (signature, expiry, replay) and
cross-checked by verifyAccountOwnership; h.Composio == nil still 503s. So the
callback is registered alongside the other public OAuth/webhook routes; the
other four composio endpoints stay session-gated.

comes from the signed state — addressing review nit from 张大彪.

* feat(composio): inject MCP overlay into agent runtime at task dispatch (MUL-3721) (#4704)

Stage 3 of the Composio epic. Wires the per-user Composio MCP session into
every agent task so the agent process sees the initiator's connected tools
without any prompt-time plumbing.

Server side
  - Migration 128 adds agent_task_queue.runtime_mcp_overlay JSONB plus a
BEFORE-UPDATE trigger that wipes the column on any transition into a
terminal status (completed / failed / cancelled). A trigger is the single
source of truth — future queries that flip status cannot bypass it.
  - composio.Service.BuildTaskOverlay(userID) reuses CreateMCPSession and
emits the Claude-style { mcpServers: { composio: { type: http, url,
headers } } } shape the daemon's existing sidecar generators consume.
Returns (nil, nil) on zero active connections so we never burn a
Composio session for a user with nothing to call.
  - TaskService grows a Composio ComposioOverlayBuilder seam, wired in
router.go after composiointeg.NewService succeeds. Five enqueue paths
    (issue / mention / quick-create / chat / auto-retry) attach the overlay
after CreateAgentTask returns and before the daemon is notified — so
every claim reads a settled row, with no second daemon hop. Best-effort:
a builder failure logs and proceeds with no overlay.
  - resolveInitiatorFromTriggerComment derives the initiator user from the
trigger comment when it was authored by a member. Agent-authored
triggers are not treated as initiators (their connected-apps view is
    empty by construction).

Daemon side
  - handler/daemon.go claim path merges task.runtime_mcp_overlay onto
    agent.mcp_config via mergeMCPOverlay before populating
TaskAgentData.McpConfig. Overlay wins on server-name collisions
because it carries the live user-scoped session URL. Errors fall back
to the agent config unchanged — a bad overlay must not surprise-disable
saved MCP tools. The existing execenv sidecar generators (cursor /
codex / openclaw / opencode / hermes-kiro) need no changes: they keep
consuming the merged result through TaskAgentData.McpConfig.

Tests
  - 9 merge cases (mcp_overlay_test): both-nil short-circuit, agent-only
    pass-through, overlay-only canonicalization, two-side merge, name
collision (overlay wins), top-level key preservation, malformed agent
fallback, malformed overlay fallback, non-object server rejection.
  - 4 dispatch cases (composio): zero-connections returns nil without
CreateSession, happy-path emits the right shape with the right user
id, empty-URL defensive branch, SDK error surfacing.
  - 4 TaskService helper cases: nil Composio is a no-op (Queries-safe),
invalid initiator does not call the builder, nil overlay skips the
UPDATE, builder error swallowed without panic.
  - Migration 128 verified to roll up + down + up cleanly against the test
    database.

Out of scope (deferred): assignment-triggered enqueue paths with no
trigger comment get no overlay attached today (no initiator UUID flows
through enqueueIssueTask in that case). Retry paths recompute the overlay
fresh from the parent's initiator_user_id instead of inheriting the bearer
from the parent row, so a stale token can never resurface on a retry.

* feat(composio): per-agent allowlist + originator-scoped MCP overlay (MUL-3869) (#4736)

* feat(composio): per-agent allowlist + originator-scoped MCP overlay (MUL-3869)

Stage 3.1 of the Composio epic (MUL-3721 parent). PR #4704 wired in the
runtime_mcp_overlay column and a per-task dispatch hook; this change
inverts the default from "all-on" to opt-in and locks the overlay to the
agent owner's own connected apps:

- Agents carry composio_toolkit_allowlist TEXT[]. NULL or [] => no MCP.
  Owner-only read/write; non-owner GET/PUT silently redacts/drops the
  field (same shape as mcp_config).
- agent_task_queue carries originator_user_id UUID. Set from the
top-of-chain HUMAN at every enqueue path:
    * issue/mention comment by member  -> author_id
    * issue/mention comment by agent   -> inherit via comment.source_task_id
                                          -> parent task originator_user_id
    * quick-create                     -> requester_id
    * chat                             -> initiator_user_id
    * retry                            -> SQL-inherited from parent row
    * autopilot                        -> NULL (system-driven)
- BuildTaskOverlay (composio dispatch) now takes (ctx, originatorUserID,
agent) and short-circuits on five gates: invalid originator,
originator != agent.owner_id, empty allowlist, empty intersection of
allowlist ∩ active connections, defensive empty session URL. Composio
CreateSession is called with BOTH `toolkits.slugs` (the intersection)
AND `connected_accounts` (the pinned account ids), narrowing the
  tool-router twice.
- The originator-vs-owner gate closes the agent-fanout privacy hole: any
workspace member who can @-mention a public agent used to project the
owner's connected apps into their run. Now the overlay only mounts
when the human at the top of the chain IS the agent owner.

Tests:
- dispatch_test.go covers all 5 gates plus uppercase/whitespace slug
  normalisation.
- task_runtime_mcp_overlay_test.go covers the no-op gates of the new
  applyRuntimeMCPOverlay signature.
- agent_composio_allowlist_test.go (handler): owner roundtrip
  (list/empty/null), workspace-admin silent-drop, owner-only GET
  visibility, pure normaliseComposioToolkitAllowlist.
- resolve_originator_test.go (service, DB-backed): member-authored,
agent-authored inherits via comment.source_task_id, invalid id.

Migration 129 up/down/up verified against docker postgres.

* fix(composio): accept nested connected account auth config

* feat(views): creator-only MCP tab for per-agent Composio allowlist (MUL-3870) (#4743)

Stage 3.2 frontend on top of the Stage 3.1 backend (MUL-3869, 4708dba97).
Adds an agent-detail tab that lets the agent owner pick which of their own
active Composio connections this agent may mount as MCP servers, writing the
selection to agent.composio_toolkit_allowlist via the existing PUT /api/agents.

- core/types: composio_toolkit_allowlist (+ _redacted) on Agent; tri-state
  composio_toolkit_allowlist on UpdateAgentRequest (omit/no-change, null/clear,
  array/replace), matching the backend contract.
- core/agents: useUpdateAgentAllowlist - optimistic mutation hook (patches the
cached workspace agent list, rolls back on error, invalidates on settle).
- views: AgentMcpTab renders the owner's active connections as checkboxes;
empty state links to Settings -> Integrations; defensive redacted state.
- views: wired into AgentOverviewPane as tab "composio_mcp", labeled "MCP Apps"
to disambiguate from the existing raw-JSON "MCP" (mcp_config) tab. The entry
is gated to the creator (currentUserId === agent.owner_id), matching the
  backend's owner-only read/write of the allowlist.
- i18n: tabs.composio_mcp + tab_body.composio_mcp.* in en/ja/ko/zh-Hans.
- tests: agent-mcp-tab.test.tsx (gating, toggle->allowlist body, active-only,
empty, redacted); e2e/agent-mcp.spec.ts (creator sees tab + PUT body,
non-creator hidden) with Composio + agent endpoints mocked at the boundary.

Note: the product spec says "creator"; the schema has no creator_id - the
backend gate and redaction are keyed on owner_id, so the tab uses owner_id.

* fix(composio): mount remote MCP for codex

* feat(agents): agent invocation permission system (MUL-3963) (#4844)

* feat(agents): agent invocation permission system (permission_mode + invocation targets)

MUL-3963: split who may INVOKE an agent out of the overloaded visibility
column into an explicit, extensible model on feature/composio-integration.

- DB: agent.permission_mode (private|public_to) + agent_invocation_target
table (workspace/member/team targets) + lossless backfill from visibility
  (migration 130).
- canInvokeAgent: owner-only for private (NO admin bypass, NO A2A bypass);
public_to honours the allow-list; A2A judged by the top-of-chain originator.
- All trigger paths rewired: issue assign, comment @agent/@squad, chat,
  quick-create, autopilot, squad leader, child-done.
- Agent API: permission_mode + invocation_targets on responses and
create/update (owner-only writes); legacy visibility kept as a derived field
so old clients never see a permission widening.
- Composio: BuildTaskOverlay now FOLLOWS invocation permission and uses the
agent OWNER connection (removed the originator==owner gate); front-end warns
when a shared agent enables Composio apps.
- CLI: --permission-mode / --public-to-workspace / --public-to-member (legacy
  --visibility still mapped).
- Frontend: AccessPicker (Private / workspace / specific people / team soon),
permission rules mirror canInvokeAgent, Composio warning banner.
- Tests: migration backfill, admin cannot invoke others private, public_to
workspace/member whitelist, A2A by originator, Composio overlay uses owner
  connection.

* feat(agents): stackable, mixed public_to invocation targets (MUL-3963)

Follow-up on PR #4844: public_to now supports selecting MULTIPLE, MIXED
targets on one agent (e.g. Public to workspace + specific people + team),
with canInvokeAgent admitting on ANY matching target (OR).

- Frontend AccessPicker: reworked from a single exclusive kind into a
stackable multi-select — an "Everyone in workspace" toggle, a member
multi-select checklist, and a (disabled, v1) team placeholder can be
combined freely. Emits the full union of selected targets; empty union
collapses to Private. Existing team targets are preserved across saves.
Added the access.public_group locale string (en/zh-Hans/ja/ko).
- Backend already supported this (agent_invocation_target is multi-row per
agent; create/update take a target ARRAY and batch-replace the whole
allow-list; canInvokeAgent OR-matches). Added tests to lock it in:
mixed member+team targets, overlapping-member batch replace, and
  workspace+member stacking then narrowing.

* fix(agents): address review on invocation permission (MUL-3963)

张大彪 review on PR #4844 — three blockers + product ruling + nits:

1. Migration 130: drop the FK/cascade on agent_invocation_target
(agent_id, created_by) per the Multica no-FK rule; relationships are now
maintained in the app layer (matching MUL-3515 §4). Added
   DeleteAgentInvocationTargetsByArchivedRuntimeAgents and call it before
DeleteArchivedAgentsByRuntime in all three runtime-delete paths
   (runtime.go x2, runtime_profile.go) so hard-deleting agents can't orphan
   target rows.
2. revokeAndRemoveMember: prune the leaving member's member-target grants
(DeleteAgentInvocationTargetsByMember) in the same tx as the member-row
delete, so a re-invited user can't reclaim a stale invocation grant.
3. Empty public_to is a phantom — parsePermissionInput now normalises a
public_to with no resolvable targets to a single workspace target, so
`--permission-mode public_to` alone (and any empty target array) means
"public to workspace" instead of "shared but nobody can run it".

Product ruling: the system/no-human-originator → workspace-target path in
canInvokeAgent is a deliberate, documented exception (webhook/system/
workspace-wide automation); member/team targets still fail closed without a
resolved originator. Documented in code + locked with a test.

Nits: refreshed the stale "originator must be owner" comments — models.go
(via migration 130 COMMENT ON COLUMN + sqlc regen for composio_toolkit_allowlist
and originator_user_id) and agent-mcp-tab.tsx — to the owner-connection +
invocation-permission rules.

Tests: member remove/re-add regression, system workspace exception + member
fail-closed, empty public_to → workspace (plus the earlier mixed/overlap/
batch-replace suite). Migration 130 applied to the test DB; Go handler/service/
composio suites green; views typecheck clean.

* fix(agents): scope member invocation-target cleanup to one workspace (MUL-3963)

张大彪 3rd review — cross-workspace permission bug + comment nits:

- DeleteAgentInvocationTargetsByMember was a GLOBAL delete by user id, so
removing a user from workspace A also wiped their member-target grants on
agents in workspace B. Scoped it to a single workspace by joining through
agent.workspace_id; revokeAndRemoveMember now passes (workspaceID, userID).
- Regression test TestRevokeMember_InvocationTargetCleanupIsWorkspaceScoped:
same user allow-listed by agents in two workspaces; removal from one leaves
  the other workspace's target intact.
- Nits: refreshed the remaining stale "originator == agent.owner_id" /
  "owner-vs-originator" comments — CreateRetryTask (agent.sql, regenerated),
and the AgentResponse allowlist doc + ListAgents/UpdateAgent redaction
  rationale in agent.go — to the owner-connection + invocation-permission rule.

Migration 130 applied to the test DB; Go handler/service/composio suites green;
go vet clean.

* fix(agents): agent access owner-only editable, read-only for others (MUL-3963) (#4853)

* fix(agents): make agent access owner-only editable, read-only for others (MUL-3963)

Interaction bug: a non-owner (incl. workspace admin) could open the AccessPicker
and set an agent public — the backend silently ignored it and the UI bounced
back to private. Access is owner-only, so non-owners must see a read-only state
and the backend must reject real changes explicitly.

Frontend:
- AccessPicker renders a static, non-interactive read-only state when the
viewer is not the owner: the current access value + a lock affordance + a
tooltip "Only the agent owner can change who can run this agent." No clickable
trigger is rendered, so a non-owner can never open a control the backend would
reject (the GitHub/Notion pattern for permission settings you can see but not
edit). The editable multi-select picker is unchanged for the owner.
- agent-detail-inspector gates the picker on ownership specifically
(currentUserId === agent.owner_id), NOT the general canEdit (which also admits
admins, who may edit other fields but not access).
- New locale key access.owner_only_readonly (en/zh-Hans/ja/ko).

Backend:
- UpdateAgent now returns an explicit 403 when a non-owner submits a REAL
permission change (permissionInputChangesAgent compares requested mode +
target set against the persisted state); a no-op resubmit (admin PATCH-as-PUT
echoing unchanged permission) is still tolerated so admin edits of other
fields keep working. Replaces the previous silent-drop that caused the bounce.

Tests:
- access-picker.test.tsx: non-owner gets a non-interactive read-only display
with the owner-only tooltip; owner gets an interactive picker; owner can pick
a member and stack workspace + member.
- TestUpdateAgent_AccessChangeIsOwnerOnly: admin real change → 403; admin no-op
  resubmit → 200; admin editing other fields → 200; owner change → 200.

Incidental: fixed a pre-existing base typecheck break in
slash-command-suggestion.test.tsx (stray `signal` arg not in the suggestion
items type) that otherwise fails the whole @multica/views typecheck.

* fix(agents): compare legacy visibility, not expanded permission, for no-op detection (MUL-3963)

PR #4853 review: permissionInputChangesAgent expanded a legacy-only
visibility:"private" into a real private permission and compared it against the
agent's actual permission. A member-only public_to agent derives legacy
visibility "private", so an admin PATCH-as-PUT echoing visibility:"private"
while editing another field was misread as a public_to→private downgrade and
rejected with 403 — contradicting the "unchanged permission no-op is allowed"
contract.

Fix (per review): when a request carries ONLY legacy `visibility` (no
permission_mode / invocation_targets), derive the agent's CURRENT legacy
visibility from its real targets and compare the legacy string values. Equal =
no-op (allowed); a real legacy change (e.g. "workspace") still returns 403.
Requests that carry permission_mode / invocation_targets keep the precise
mode+target comparison.

Regression test TestUpdateAgent_LegacyVisibilityNoOpForMemberOnlyPublicTo:
member-only public_to agent — admin submitting visibility:"private" + a
non-permission field → 200 with targets unchanged; admin submitting
visibility:"workspace" → 403.

Go handler/composio suites green; migration 130 applied; go vet clean.

2e8578acbd fix(chat): stop remounting the live timeline on every streamed task message (MUL-3960) (#4845)
* fix(chat): stop remounting the live timeline on every streamed task message (MUL-3960)

The Virtuoso components prop was built inline, so every render produced new
Header/Footer component types and React unmounted + remounted the entire live
timeline subtree. During task streaming that meant every task:message event
tore down and rebuilt thousands of rows and re-parsed all Markdown, freezing
the renderer for seconds at a time on long agent runs.

- Hoist Header/Footer to module scope and pass per-render data through
Virtuoso's context prop (re-render instead of remount).
- Memoize buildTimeline on the task-messages cache array identity (live
  timeline and persisted AssistantMessage).
- Render message text through MemoizedMarkdown so unchanged content skips
the markdown re-parse; only the streaming tail re-renders.

Regression tests assert the footer DOM node survives a streamed message and
that a user-collapsed process fold stays closed (both failed before the fix).

* perf(chat): memoize MessageBubble so streamed messages skip untouched rows

Follow-up to the MUL-3960 remount fix: each task:message still re-rendered
every visible history row through itemContent. Message objects are
referentially stable and isPending is a boolean, so a shallow memo makes
the persisted history inert during streaming — only the live footer
reconciles per message.

a898e5317e fix(chat): stop cancelled-run drafts resurrecting after deletion (#4486)
Cancelling a chat task restored the message into the input via a
separate `editorRestore` component state that also held a private copy
of the content and forced an editor remount (bumping `editorKey`).

That copy was never cleared and `activeRestore` re-derived on every
return to the draft's session, so `defaultValue={activeRestore?.content
?? inputDraft}` kept re-injecting text the user had already deleted —
the draft (`inputDraft`) cleared, but the stale copy did not.

The editor already self-syncs external `defaultValue` changes into a
live instance (content-editor.tsx defaultValue-sync effect, used for WS
description updates), so the remount mechanism was redundant. Drop the
whole `editorRestore` state and let `inputDraft` be the single source of
truth: restore just writes the draft, the editor's own sync displays it.
Now cancel-restore behaves exactly like normal typing — delete the text
and it stays gone across navigation.

b7857a6aa3 feat(chat): workspace-scoped attachment binding + fire-and-forget send (#4249)
* feat(chat): workspace-scoped attachment binding + fire-and-forget send

Uploads are now workspace-scoped: the chat session is created and
attachments are bound to the message at send time, so a paste/drop no
longer creates an empty session the user never sends.

- LinkAttachmentsToChatMessage returns the ids it actually bound; the
client diffs requested-vs-bound and warns on partial bind, replacing
  an extra listChatMessagesPage fetch.
- Cancelling an empty chat task detaches attachments before deleting the
user message (attachment FK is ON DELETE CASCADE) and returns them via
  cancelled_chat_message.attachments, so a restored draft can re-bind.
- SendChatMessageResponse.attachment_ids has no omitempty: "requested but
bound zero" serializes [] so the client can tell it apart from an older
  server and still warn.
- Send is fire-and-forget: it no longer steals focus when the user has
navigated to another session (guarded on the live store + new-chat agent
id); the reply surfaces via the unread dot. commitInput gets clearEditor
so a navigated-away commit doesn't wipe the editor now showing another
session, while still clearing the sent draft's data.
- Draft restore is session-aware so a failed fire-and-forget send restores
into the session it was sent from, never the one the user moved to.
- Removed the now-unreferenced migrateInputDraft store action.

Verified: core/views typecheck, chat-input (15) / store (3) / api client
(24) unit tests, go build + vet, handler SendChatMessage + CancelTaskByUser
DB tests. Full make check / E2E left to CI.

* test(chat): guard attachment survival on empty-chat cancel

Cancelling an empty chat task deletes the user message, and
attachment.chat_message_id is ON DELETE CASCADE (migration 083), so the
detach-before-delete in finalizeCancelledChatMessage is the only thing
keeping the user's attachment from being silently destroyed. Nothing
covered it.

Add a DB regression test that binds an attachment to the cancelled user
message and asserts: the row survives the cascade (chat_message_id NULL,
chat_session_id retained), the cancel response returns it via
cancelled_chat_message.attachments, and a resend re-binds it to the new
message. Verified red when the detach step is removed.

* fix(comment): pessimistic submit for comment/reply composers

The comment and reply composers cleared the editor after `await onSubmit`
returned, with no in-flight lock. On a slow send the WS `comment:created`
event already dropped the real comment into the timeline while the box
still held the same text + spinner, so it read as two comments. And
because `submitComment`/`submitReply` swallow errors (toast, no rethrow),
a failed send still reached `clearContent` and silently discarded the
user's draft.

Recover the comment/reply portion of the closed #4236: make the submit
callback resolve a success boolean (true on success, false on the caught
failure), lock the editor while in flight (pointer-events-none + dimmed
wrapper + aria-busy, since ContentEditor can't toggle Tiptap `editable`
post-mount), keep the button spinning, and clear only on success — a
failed send keeps the draft. Chat composer is out of scope (already
reworked on this branch); attachment binding is untouched.

Adds two view tests (in-flight lock then clear-on-success; failed send
keeps the draft); both verified red against the un-fixed code.

f46b929ebc fix(editor): don't wipe in-flight uploads on external content sync (#4196)
* fix(editor): don't wipe in-flight uploads on external content sync

When a brand-new chat's first file upload triggers lazy session creation,
`setActiveSession(null → uuid)` flips ChatInput's draft key mid-upload, which
changes `defaultValue` to the new (empty) session draft. ContentEditor's
"sync external defaultValue" effect then ran `setContent` over a document that
still held the `uploading` image/fileCard node, wiping it — so the upload's
finalize could no longer find the node. The file vanished and the draft was
left with an empty `!file[name]()`.

The editor was never remounted (instance stays alive); the node was removed by
the content-sync effect. An uploading node is local state an external sync must
not overwrite, exactly like the existing dirty/focused guards. Add a guard that
bails the sync while any `uploading` node is present.

Pure frontend; affects only the first upload in a new chat (subsequent uploads
hit an existing session, so no draft-key flip).

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* test(editor): cover the in-flight-upload content-sync guard

The content-sync effect now reads `editor.state.doc.descendants` on every run
to detect uploading nodes; the mocked editor didn't implement it, crashing all
ContentEditor tests. Add `descendants` (driven by `editorState.uploadingNodes`)
to the mock and a regression test asserting an external `defaultValue` change
does not setContent while an upload is in flight, and resumes once it settles.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* fix(chat): migrate new-chat draft onto the session id on lazy create

The first file upload in a brand-new chat lazily creates the session, flipping
ChatInput's draft key from `__new__:agent` to the session id mid-upload. The
in-progress (empty-href) file-card markdown the editor had already written into
the `__new__:agent` draft was neither migrated nor cleared, so it stayed
stranded under that key — and resurfaced as a stale `!file[name]()` the next
time a new chat opened for the same agent (the send only cleared the
session-keyed draft).

Migrate the `__new__:agent` draft onto the new session id the moment the
session is created (upload path only — text send already clears the pre-flip
key via `keyAtSend`). Add a shared `newSessionDraftKey` helper so ChatInput and
ensureSession agree on the slot name, and a `migrateInputDraft` store action.

abf99eb700 fix(attachments): server-driven markdown_url + legacy compat (MUL-3192) (#3991)
Comment / issue / chat images uploaded inside the Desktop app rendered
as the broken-image fallback. The editor was persisting a site-relative
`/api/attachments/<id>/download` URL into markdown — that path only
resolves when the document origin proxies /api to the API host (apps/web
via Next.js rewrite). On Electron's file:// origin it never resolved.

Per GPT-Boy's plan, move the durable-URL choice from the client to the
server so the persisted shape is correct regardless of which client
performed the upload.

Server:
- AttachmentResponse gains a markdown_url field, computed by
  buildMarkdownURL from the deployment policy:
  • storage URL is already absolute + unsigned (public CDN, S3 public
bucket, LocalStorage with MULTICA_LOCAL_UPLOAD_BASE_URL on https) →
    use it verbatim;
  • CloudFront-signed mode → never expose the raw S3 URL (private
    bucket); return cfg.PublicURL + /api/attachments/<id>/download so
    the server can re-sign on every request;
  • LocalStorage relative + cfg.PublicURL set → same prefixed API
    endpoint;
  • cfg.PublicURL unset → fall back to site-relative path so web's
    Next.js rewrite still works.
- isDurablePublicURL helper rejects URLs carrying CloudFront / S3
signature query params, so a freshly-signed download_url can never
leak into persistence — the original MUL-3130 bug stays closed.

Frontend:
- Attachment type + AttachmentResponseSchema (and apps/mobile mirror)
carry markdown_url. Schema lenient-defaults to '' so a backend old
enough to predate this field doesn't break clients.
- useFileUpload picks markdownLink with three-layer fallback:
  (1) att.markdown_url (modern server),
  (2) attachmentDownloadPath(att.id) — legacy site-relative shape,
retained for backends old enough to omit markdown_url,
  (3) att.url — no-workspace avatar branch with no attachment-row id.
- attachment.tsx keeps the relative→absolute absolutize pass, but
reframed as the legacy-compat fallback for already-persisted
/api/attachments/<id>/download or /uploads/<key> URLs in old
bodies. New content writes absolute URLs and skips this path.
- ContentEditor still tracks freshly-uploaded records into
AttachmentDownloadProvider so Quick Create's editor can swap the URL
via the resolver during the same session even before the server-side
  binding lands.

Tests:
- server/internal/handler/file_test.go: 5 new buildMarkdownURL matrix
tests (public CDN passthrough, CloudFront-signed swap, relative
prefixing, PublicURL unset fallback, trailing-slash strip) + 15
  table-driven isDurablePublicURL cases.
- packages/core/hooks/use-file-upload.test.ts: new file, 4 cases
covering modern server / legacy server / no-id avatar / oversize.
- packages/views/editor/attachment.test.tsx + content-editor.test.tsx:
10 cases for the absolutize matrix and in-session attachment merge.
- 6 existing test fixtures updated to include markdown_url.

Verification: 1236 @multica/views tests pass; 514 @multica/core tests
pass (4 new); server handler package tests pass for the new matrix
plus all pre-existing TestAttachmentToResponse* and TestDownload*
cases. Typecheck green for views/core/web/desktop. Lint clean on
touched files.

Quick Create attachment_ids binding (orphaned attachment relationship
on the resulting issue) is a follow-up — it requires a new --attachment-id
CLI flag and daemon prompt-template work and is intentionally scoped
out of this PR.

13e9485a3b MUL-3130: persist stable /api/attachments/<id>/download URL in comment markdown (#3937)
* MUL-3130: persist a stable attachment download URL in comment markdown

Comment image attachments rendered as broken placeholders ~30 minutes
after upload because the editor was persisting a short-lived
HMAC-signed URL into the comment body. After PR #3903 (MUL-3132)
hardened /uploads/* with auth, `attachmentToResponse` started signing
`attachment.url` as `/uploads/<key>?exp=<unix>&sig=<HMAC>` for
LocalStorage so token-auth clients could keep loading inline images.
The signature has a 30-min TTL by design — but `useFileUpload` was
returning that signed value as `link` and the editor was writing
`![file](signed-url)` straight into the markdown, so the comment
permanently captured a URL that stopped working as soon as the
signature expired.

The fix is to persist a stable per-attachment URL that the server can
re-sign on every request:

* `useFileUpload` now returns `link = /api/attachments/<id>/download`
(avatar uploads without an id still fall back to `att.url` so the
  pre-attachment-row code paths keep working).
* `DownloadAttachment` self-resolves the workspace from the attachment
row instead of reading X-Workspace-Slug / X-Workspace-ID headers,
and the route is registered under the auth-only group so a native
browser <img>/<video> resource load (which cannot attach those
headers) succeeds. Membership is checked inside the handler with
a 404 deny shape so the route does not act as an IDOR oracle.
* A new `GetAttachmentByIDOnly` SQL query supports the workspace-
  derivation step.
* `AttachmentDownloadProvider` now extracts the attachment id from
the stable URL when matching markdown refs to attachment records,
with a fallback to the existing url-equality check for legacy
comments (and S3/CloudFront markdown that points straight at the
  CDN).
* `contentReferencesAttachment` covers both URL shapes for the
composer / standalone-list dedup paths so an attachment uploaded
before the fix and one uploaded after both deduplicate cleanly.

Tests:
- New unit tests for the URL helpers (16 tests, packages/core).
- Backend regression test: bare `<img src>`-style request without
workspace headers now succeeds for a member (200) and 404s for a
non-member, replacing the previous "400 without workspace context"
  contract.
- Existing TestDownload*, TestServeLocalUpload*, TestAttachmentTo
Response* and the 1220 frontend views tests all pass.

* MUL-3130: address PR review — split markdown link from upload link, swap render src

Two follow-ups from GPT-Boy's review on PR #3937.

(1) Don't reroute every upload consumer through the workspace-gated
    download endpoint.

The previous change made `useFileUpload`'s `link` field unconditionally
return `/api/attachments/<id>/download` whenever the upload had an id.
But `useFileUpload` is also used by avatar / logo pickers
    (account-tab, workspace-tab, agents/avatar-picker, squads/squad-detail-page)
that persist `result.link` directly into `avatar_url`. Avatars are
referenced cross-workspace (mention chips, member lists, inbox
items), so binding their URL to a workspace-membership-gated
endpoint would silently break cross-workspace avatar visibility.

The fix splits the URL into two semantically distinct fields:

      - `link` — same as `att.url` (legacy contract). Avatar /
logo callers continue to use this and remain
on whatever URL semantics the storage backend
                          dictates.
      - `markdownLink` — the stable per-attachment URL
                          `/api/attachments/<id>/download`. Only the
                          editor's markdown-persisting flow consumes
this. Falls back to `link` for the
no-workspace upload branch (where there is
                          no attachment-row id to address).

    `editor/extensions/file-upload.ts` switches `image.src` and
    `fileCard.href` to `markdownLink ?? link` so comment markdown gets
the stable shape while avatar callers stay on `link` unchanged.

(2) Make the render-time img src loadable for token-mode clients.

Persisting the stable `/api/attachments/<id>/download` URL fixes the
expiry problem but the path itself sits behind `middleware.Auth`,
which expects either a `multica_auth` cookie or a Bearer token in
`Authorization`. Native `<img>`/`<video>` resource loads from
token-mode clients (Electron's default mode, the mobile app,
legacy-token web sessions) cannot attach the Authorization header,
so the bare URL would 401 immediately rather than 30 minutes later.

`Attachment.normalize` now runs the resolved record through a new
    `pickInlineMediaURL` helper that returns:

      - `record.download_url` when it's an absolute URL with a
         recognised CDN signature query (CloudFront-signed
         `Signature` / `Expires` / `Key-Pair-Id`, or
`X-Amz-Signature` for raw S3 presigns) — these load as
native resource src in any client.
      - else `record.url`, which on the LocalStorage backend carries
         a freshly-minted `/uploads/<key>?exp&sig` query whose
signature IS the auth (token-mode-loadable). On non-CF S3
backends this is the raw stored URL — same behaviour as
         today.
      - else the original input URL (legacy / unresolved markdown
         keeps its existing path).

This gives the same effect for both `kind: "record"` and
`kind: "url"` attachment inputs: once a record is in hand, the
rendered media src is whichever URL the current backend exposes
    a working signature on.

Tests:

  - New `file-upload.test.ts` regression pinning that `markdownLink`
is what lands in the markdown body when the upload result returns
both a short-lived storage URL and a stable download path.
  - Updated `attachment.test.tsx` to reflect the new render-time
swap (the rendered img src now follows the freshly signed URL,
not the raw storage URL) and added a record-mode regression
pinning the LocalStorage default — when `download_url` is the
bare /api/attachments/<id>/download path, the renderer must fall
    through to the signed `record.url`.
  - Updated `chat-input.test.tsx` makeUpload helper for the new
    `markdownLink` UploadResult field.
  - 1222 frontend views tests + 507 core tests + typecheck across
    @multica/{core,ui,views} all pass.

* MUL-3130: chat upload map keys on persisted markdownLink, not the short-lived link

GPT-Boy's second-round review on PR #3937 caught a chat-only blocker
left over from the previous fix.

After the previous commit split `UploadResult.link` into `link`
(legacy avatar/logo URL) and `markdownLink` (stable per-attachment
URL persisted into markdown), the comment editor's image src + file
card href correctly switched to `markdownLink ?? link`. But chat
input still kept the upload-map key on the old `link`:

  uploadMapRef.current.set(result.link, result.id)
  …
  if (content.includes(url)) activeIds.push(id)

In the LocalStorage backend `link` is the short-lived
`/uploads/<key>?exp=&sig=` URL. The editor persists the stable
`/api/attachments/<id>/download` URL into the message body, so
`content.includes(url)` never matches and the send call drops
`attachment_ids`. The attachment ends up bound only to the chat
session, not to the message — agents reading message-level metadata
see no attachments.

Fix: key the upload map on the same value the editor actually wrote
into the markdown body (`markdownLink || link`). The
`content.includes(url)` check then matches and the attachment id is
correctly forwarded on send.

Tests:

- Updated the chat-input mock editor to insert `markdownLink || link`
into its value, mirroring the real editor's persisted-URL choice
  (uploadAndInsertFile in editor/extensions/file-upload.ts). Without
this the mock would silently paper over the bug.
- Added a regression test where the upload result returns a
  short-lived `link = /uploads/...?exp&sig` and a stable
  `markdownLink = /api/attachments/<id>/download`. Asserts (a) the
message body carries the stable URL and never the signed query,
and (b) the bound `attachment_ids` includes the attachment id.

All 1223 frontend views tests pass (was 1222, +1 new regression).
Typecheck and 507 core tests still green.

d6540a1869 fix(clipboard): support copy over http:// via execCommand fallback (#3810)
navigator.clipboard is only exposed in a secure context (https or
localhost). On self-hosted instances served over plain http:// it is
undefined, so every copy / "copy all" / export button silently failed and
left the clipboard empty (GitHub #3781).

Add a shared copyText(text): Promise<boolean> helper in
@multica/ui/lib/clipboard that prefers the async Clipboard API and falls
back to a hidden <textarea> + document.execCommand('copy') for non-secure
contexts. Migrate all direct navigator.clipboard.writeText call sites
(code blocks, agent transcript copy-all, token / webhook / issue-link
copy, etc.) to it, gating success side-effects on the returned boolean,
and remove the now-redundant copyMarkdown wrapper. Secure-context users
keep the native path unchanged.

Deployment-order compatibility: a backend deployed before the

The cursorless initial page now falls back to the legacy full-list
/messages endpoint and wraps it in a single has_more:false page, so
chat never white-screens regardless of which side deploys first. A 404
on a cursor request still propagates to avoid duplicating the full list.

91c1e51411 feat(editor): add / slash-command palette for invoking agent skills (#3159)
* feat(editor): add / slash-command palette for invoking agent skills

Adds a `/` trigger in the chat box that opens a popover listing the active
agent's skills. Selecting an item inserts a `[/label](slash://skill/<id>)`
token; the daemon extracts those IDs in `buildChatPrompt` and emits an
"Explicitly selected skills:" block using the canonical names from the
agent's skill registry — labels are display-only and never trusted.

Built on Tiptap's `Mention` extension so the suggestion lifecycle,
keyboard routing, and IME handling mirror the existing `@` mention UX.
Item list is sourced from the React Query workspace cache (no per-keystroke
fetch). Gated behind a new `enableSlashCommands` prop so only `chat-input`
opts in; other `ContentEditor` consumers (issue editor, comments) are
unaffected. Read-only markdown surfaces render the token as a `.slash-command`
pill via a custom link renderer + sanitize-schema/url-transform allowlists.

Closes #3108

* fix(i18n): add slash_command editor copy for ko/ja

The PR added slash_command popover empty-state keys to en + zh-Hans only;
locales/parity.test.ts requires every locale to cover every EN key, so ko
and ja failed CI. Add the two keys (no_skills_configured, no_results)
matching existing skill terminology (스킬 / スキル).

b72434da68 refactor(chat,issues): unify hover-swap row pattern + drop archived chat sessions (#3634)
* refactor(chat): rework chat history list

- Drop legacy archived sessions from the history dropdown. The
soft-archive feature was removed, so status='archived' rows are dead
data; exclude them instead of showing a collapsed "archived" group.
Rename the section heading "Active" -> "Chat history".
- Swap hover row actions into the status column's slot instead of an
absolute overlay: status is hidden on hover and actions take its
place inline, while the title keeps flex-1. No mid-row gap, no
  overlap, no text bleed-through.
- Remove orphaned i18n keys (active_group, archived_group,
  archived_label) across en/zh-Hans/ko.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* refactor(issues): align execution log rows with the chat hover-swap pattern

- Drop the fixed w-20 status column that forced premature truncation of
the trigger text and left a mid-row gap; status now sizes to content.
- Running tasks render only the spinner (sr-only label retained for a11y
and tooltip); the redundant "Working" text is removed.
- Hover swaps status for actions in place (RowStatus hidden, RowActions
inline) instead of an absolute gradient overlay. Applies to both
active and past ("show past runs") rows via the shared RowShell /
  RowStatus / RowActions.

Known tradeoff: dropping the absolute+opacity slot also drops the
group-focus-within keyboard reveal, so cancel/retry are no longer
Tab-reachable. Matches the chat pattern; revisit if keyboard access for
row actions becomes a requirement.

341ce7bfa5 feat: support local working directory for projects (MUL-2618 v1) (#3283)
* feat(project): add local_directory project_resource type (MUL-2662)

Adds a second project_resource type alongside github_repo so a project
can be pinned to an existing directory on a specific daemon (the v1 of
the local-working-directory flow tracked in MUL-2618). The ref schema is
{ local_path, daemon_id, label? }; local_path must be absolute and
daemon_id is required. The same (daemon_id, local_path) pair is allowed
on multiple projects by design — no UNIQUE constraint is added.

Implementation reuses the existing project_resource API surface: the new
type is wired through the validator switch with no migration, no new
events, and no daemon-handler changes (daemon already passes through
arbitrary resource types via ProjectResources). The CLI gains
--local-path / --daemon-id / --ref-label shortcuts so
`multica project resource add --type local_directory` mirrors the
existing `--type github_repo --url ...` ergonomics; the generic --ref
flag still works for both types.

Tests cover the full CRUD lifecycle, the same-path-across-projects
allowance, the same-path-same-project conflict, the validator rejections
(missing/blank/relative path, missing daemon_id, wrong payload type),
and the cross-platform isAbsoluteLocalPath helper.

* feat(project): add update endpoint + label-shadow guard for project_resource (MUL-2662)

Addresses the Elon review on PR #3263:

- Add PUT /api/projects/{id}/resources/{resourceId} with sqlc query,
matching handler, CLI `project resource update`, and a new
  EventProjectResourceUpdated WS event. resource_type stays immutable;
  ref/label/position are all individually optional.
- Catch same-project (daemon_id, local_path) collisions where only the
embedded label differs — the row-level UNIQUE only matches the full
ref JSON, so a label typo would otherwise let the same working
  directory bind twice.
- Tests cover the update lifecycle (label-only / ref / clear / 404 /
invalid path) and the label-shadow conflict on both create and
update; the in-place rename still succeeds because the conflict
scan ignores the row being edited.

Incidental: regenerating sqlc picked up a missing skills_local scan in
UpdateAgentCustomEnv that drifted in from #3200.

Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai>

* fix(project): close bundled-create label-shadow gap + merge resource_ref on CLI update (MUL-2662)

Two follow-ups from MUL-2662 review round 2:

- CreateProject inline resources path now dedupes local_directory entries on
(daemon_id, local_path) before opening the transaction. The DB-level
  UNIQUE(project_id, resource_type, resource_ref) constraint only fires on a
full JSON match, so two rows with the same target but different `label`
would otherwise slip past. Standalone POST/PUT already cover this via
findLocalDirectoryConflict; bundled create was the missing surface.
- `multica project resource update` now seeds resource_ref from the existing
row before applying per-type shortcut flags, so `--default-branch-hint x`
on its own no longer constructs a payload missing `url` (which the server
400s on). Local_directory partial edits get the same merge behavior.

* feat(desktop): local_directory project_resource UI (MUL-2665) (#3273)

* feat(desktop): local_directory project_resource UI (MUL-2665)

First UI surface for the local-working-directory flow tracked in MUL-2618.
Lets users on the desktop pin a project to an existing folder on this
machine; web stays read-only since the per-daemon check can't be done in
the browser.

What's new for the renderer:

- ProjectResourcesSection grows a desktop-only "Add local directory"
button next to the existing GitHub-repo popover. Clicking it opens
Electron's native folder picker, validates the path through a new
IPC pair (existence + r/w), and submits a project_resource of
resource_type=local_directory with daemon_id pulled live from
  daemonAPI.getStatus.
- LocalDirectoryRow renders the rename pencil + path tooltip, and
  greys out when ref.daemon_id != this machine's daemon_id (with a
"only available on the machine that registered this directory"
tooltip). Delete stays enabled so users can drop stale registrations
  from any device.
- LocalDirectoryHint sits above the issue-detail comment composer and
shows "Agent will work in-place at {label} ({path})" when the issue's
project has a local_directory matching this daemon. Hidden on web.
- TaskStatusPill picks up a new "waiting_for_directory_release" stage
that the daemon will publish when it dequeues a task but can't
acquire the path lock. The render is in place now so the daemon
sibling subtask can wire the status string without an additional UI
  PR.

Plumbing:

- @multica/core/types gains LocalDirectoryResourceRef +
UpdateProjectResourceRequest, and the api client gets the matching
PUT method backed by the server endpoint that landed in
  2ac3faebb (MUL-2662). A useUpdateProjectResource hook drives the
  in-place label edit.
- New Electron handlers under apps/desktop/src/main/local-directory.ts:
    local-directory:pick     -> dialog.showOpenDialog (openDirectory)
    local-directory:validate -> stat + access(R_OK + W_OK)
exposed through the preload as desktopAPI.pickDirectory /
validateLocalDirectory. View code talks to them via a thin
packages/views/platform helper that returns reason=unsupported on
  web instead of crashing.
- useLocalDaemonStatus exposes the local daemon's id, device name, and
running flag from daemonAPI.onStatusChange so the renderer can do the
cross-device match without coupling to the desktop preload typings.

Tests:

- pickStageKeys gets a unit test covering the new stage and proving
the directory-release status outranks availability hints.
- LocalDirectoryHint tests cover the four render branches (no project,
no daemon, foreign daemon, matching daemon).
- i18n parity stays green; new keys added under projects.resources.*
  and chat.status_pill.stages.waiting_for_directory_release in both
  locales.

Out of scope (will land separately):
- The daemon-side waiting/lock signal that flips the pill into the
  new state.
- Adding local_directory to the create-project modal's bulk
  attach flow.
- Docs page refresh for project-resources.mdx — left for the
  MUL-2618 umbrella sweep.

* fix(desktop): hide rename for foreign daemon local_directory rows (MUL-2618)

Address review nit on #3273: the rename pencil was gated only by
`canEdit`, so a foreign / unknown-daemon row still showed it even
though the spec says cross-device rows are disabled. Gate rename on
`!mismatch` so it disappears on those rows; delete stays available
so a stale registration can still be dropped from any device.

* feat(daemon): local_directory execution + path mutex + GC exception (MUL-2663) (#3274)

* feat(daemon): local_directory execution + path mutex + GC exception (MUL-2663)

Wires up the daemon side of the local_directory project_resource introduced
in MUL-2662. When a task is dispatched against a project whose resources
include a local_directory pinned to this daemon's UUID, the daemon now:

  - Validates the path (absolute, exists, daemon process can read+write,
not in the system-root / $HOME blacklist) and fails the task fast on
any precondition violation, with a user-readable reason.
  - Serialises concurrent tasks on the same on-disk path via a
daemon-local LocalPathLocker keyed by symlink-resolved realpath. The
lock is held for the entire task lifetime (claim → context write →
    agent → result report).
  - When the lock is contended, the daemon flips the row to a new
waiting_local_directory status on the server (carrying a wait_reason
like "<path> (held by task <short id>)") so the UI can render
"等待本地目录释放" instead of leaving the row silently in dispatched
past the sweeper timeout. The status accepts being woken into running
    once the lock is acquired.
  - Sets execenv.WorkDir to the user's path (no copy, no mount). envRoot
still lives under workspacesRoot/<wsID>/ and hosts output/, logs/, and
.gc_meta.json — the daemon's logbook for the run.
  - Stamps GCMeta.LocalDirectory=true so the GC loop never RemoveAlls
envRoot for these tasks (gcActionClean → gcActionCleanArtifacts,
gcActionOrphan → gcActionSkip). The user's directory was never under
envRoot to begin with, so this is defense in depth.
  - Skips execenv.Reuse for local_directory tasks because the prior
WorkDir is the user's path and reusing it through that code path
loses the envRoot association the GC loop needs. Prepare is cheap
here (no clone, no copy), so always running it is fine.

Server-side protocol changes:

  - New CHECK value 'waiting_local_directory' on agent_task_queue.status
    plus a wait_reason TEXT column (migration 109).
  - All cancel / active / counted-as-running / orphan-recovery queries
expanded to include the new status; FailStaleTasks intentionally
excludes it (the daemon owns the wait).
  - New SQL MarkAgentTaskWaitingLocalDirectory(id, reason) and a relaxed
StartAgentTask that accepts both dispatched and
waiting_local_directory as preconditions (and clears wait_reason on
    the way through).
  - New POST /api/daemon/tasks/{taskId}/wait-local-directory endpoint,
    TaskService.MarkTaskWaitingLocalDirectory broadcaster, and matching
    daemon Client.MarkTaskWaitingLocalDirectory.

Tests cover: path blacklist + R/W enforcement, mutex serialisation +
ctx-cancelled wait, lock handover between two tasks, GC never returns
gcActionClean / gcActionOrphan for local_directory rows (with negative
control for the standard path), and Prepare/Cleanup correctly substitute
+ protect the user's WorkDir.

The desktop UI side (UI for adding a local_directory resource, surfacing
the "等待本地目录" badge) is MUL-2665; the agent-task lifecycle changes
(no branch switch, dirty-tree tolerant, auto-commit) are MUL-2664.

This PR targets the shared MUL-2618 v1 feature branch agent/j/912b8cb1,
not main; the whole v1 will be merged to main together when complete.

* fix(daemon): tighten local_directory status, symlink, cancel handling (MUL-2618)

Address the 3 must-fix items from Elon's review of PR #3274.

1. Status string unified. The server / daemon publish
`waiting_local_directory`; align views, locales, and the
pickStageKeys test (PR #3273 had used `waiting_for_directory_release`
on a placeholder string). Without this, the daemon's wait state
never reached the pill once the two siblings merged.

2. validateLocalPath now also runs the blacklist against the
   symlink-resolved realpath, with macOS's `/etc` -> `/private/etc`
redirect handled via `isBlacklistedRealPath` which compares
canonical forms. Without this, a symlink such as
   `/Users/me/proj/home -> /Users/me` slipped the literal $HOME check
while every daemon write still landed in the user's home. Tests
cover symlink-to-home, symlink-to-system-root, and the negative
case (symlink to a regular subdirectory).

3. acquireLocalDirectoryLockIfNeeded now spins up a cancellation
watcher inside `onWait` (lazy — the fast path stays free) so the
gap between dispatch and StartTask responds to server-side cancel
or row deletion. If the watcher fires while the daemon is parked
on the path mutex, the lock-wait context is cancelled, Acquire
returns promptly, and the helper exits silently the same way the
   run-phase poller does. New TestAcquireLocalDirectoryLock_CancelDuringWait
exercises the path end-to-end with a fake server.

Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai>

* fix(daemon): unconditional canonical blacklist + Windows drive-root generalisation (MUL-2618)

- validateLocalPath now always runs isBlacklistedRealPath on the
symlink-resolved path, not only when it differs from absPath. The old
guard let users type the canonical form of an OS-symlinked banned root
  (e.g. /private/tmp, /private/etc, /private/var on macOS) straight
through, since EvalSymlinks is a no-op on already-canonical input.
- Windows drive-root rejection moved off the static C/D/E/F enumeration
onto filepath.VolumeName via a new isDriveRoot helper, so removable /
network drives mounted at G:..Z: and UNC \\server\share roots are also
blocked. systemRootBlacklist keeps the well-known C:\ trees only.
- Tests: macOS-only case exercises direct /private/{tmp,etc,var}; a
new TestIsDriveRoot covers the Windows generalisation (skipped on
  POSIX runners by runtime guard).

* feat(views): wire waiting_local_directory end-to-end in issue UI + presence (MUL-2618)

Connect the daemon-emitted `task:waiting_local_directory` and `task:running`
events through to issue execution log, sticky agent banner, activity indicator,
and agent presence so a parked task is no longer invisible on the issue page.

- Add `waiting_local_directory` to `AgentTask.status` and the typed
  `task:running` / `task:waiting_local_directory` WS event payloads.
- Chat realtime sync writes both new statuses into the pending-task cache so
the chat StatusPill flips out of a stale `dispatched` frame.
- ExecutionLogSection: count `waiting_local_directory` as active, add tone +
status label, treat parked tasks the same as dispatched for time anchor /
  transcript visibility / terminate-confirm note.
- AgentLiveCard: subscribe to both new events, rank the parked state between
dispatched and queued, and surface a "is waiting for the local directory"
banner with the muted "Clock" treatment used for queued.
- IssueAgentActivityIndicator: route parked tasks into the queued bucket so
the hover stack and chip stay visible.
- derive-presence: parked tasks count toward `queuedCount` so the agent
workload chip stays out of `idle` while the daemon waits on the path lock.
- Locales: add `agent_live.is_waiting_local_directory` and
  `execution_log.status_waiting_local_directory` (en + zh-Hans).

* feat(project): enforce one local_directory per (project, daemon) (MUL-2618)

The daemon-side resolver picks the first matching local_directory by
daemon_id, so allowing two rows on the same daemon — even at different
paths — let the agent silently write into whichever sorted first. Tighten
the invariant top to bottom:

- server: `findLocalDirectoryConflict` rejects any second row sharing a
daemon_id, regardless of `local_path` or label. Bundled-create surface in
`CreateProject` runs the same daemon-scoped dedupe up front.
- daemon: `findLocalDirectoryAssignment` fails fast when it finds more than
one row pinned to the current daemon (older API client / direct DB
writes can still produce that state — refuse to guess).
- desktop UI: hide the "Add local directory" action once the current
daemon owns a row on this project, with a hint and a defensive toast on
the call path; foreign-daemon rows stay visible read-only as before.
- Tests:
  * daemon: new `two local_directory rows on this daemon fail fast` /
`local_directory rows on different daemons coexist` cases.
  * handler: rewrite the legacy `LabelShadow` cases as
    `DaemonScopedConflict` / `BundledLocalDirectoryDaemonConflict` —
    asserts 409 on same-daemon different-path, 201 on per-daemon bundles.
- Locales: en + zh-Hans copy for the new hint + toast.

* chore(sqlc): drop stale skills_local in UpdateAgentCustomEnv (MUL-2618)

Follow-up to the main-merge in 0f8e8ca7: the auto-merge preserved most
of main's skills_local revert but kept the column reference inside the
UpdateAgentCustomEnv scanner because that block hadn't been touched by
either side. Re-running `sqlc generate` regenerates the file without
skills_local in this query, matching the rest of the file and the
post-revert schema.

* feat(create-project): binary source picker — repos OR local directory

Turn the create-project dialog's "Repos" pill into a binary Source
picker. A project's source is mutually exclusive: either a set of
GitHub repos (worktree mode, default) or a single local working
directory (local mode, desktop-only). Mirrors the constraint the
backend will enforce next.

Behavior:
- Pill shows the active mode's selection (GitHub icon + repo count, or
  folder icon + local label/path).
- Popover has a 2-tab segmented control at the top; the Local tab is
hidden entirely on web (local_directory needs a daemon_id).
- Local tab requires the daemon online — amber notice + disabled picker
when offline, re-renders automatically via useLocalDaemonStatus.
- Switching tabs preserves the other side's stash, but handleSubmit
only emits the resource matching the active sourceMode, so abandoned
picks never leak into the created project.

Backend mutual-exclusion validation + the resources-section
conditional-add-button still to come — this PR just unblocks the
dialog so it can be demoed.

c5b4c45e41 fix(chat): unify expand and drag-to-max rendering (MUL-2653) (#3235)
* fix(chat): unify expand and drag-to-max rendering so both produce same dimensions (MUL-2653)

Expand button used CSS `inset-3` (parent minus 24px each side) while
drag-to-max used explicit 90%-of-parent pixel dimensions — different

preventing drag-back. Now both paths render with explicit width/height
at bottom-right and resize handles stay visible in all states.

90455abd8d fix(desktop): preserve tab scroll position across Activity visibility cycles (MUL-2602) (#3196)
Closes #3183.

Tabs render under `<Activity mode="visible|hidden">`, which keeps React
state but drops DOM scrollTop when the subtree leaves layout. Switching
to another tab and back sent users to the top of long discussions.

`useTabScrollRestore` records the scrollTop of every element marked with
`data-tab-scroll-root` while the tab is visible (capture-phase scroll
listener) and restores them in a useLayoutEffect on the next visible
transition, before paint. Saved offsets are dropped when the tab's path
changes so intra-tab navigation lands at scroll=0 instead of inheriting
the previous route's position.

Mark scroll containers in views with `data-tab-scroll-root` (issue
detail + chat message list ship with the marker; other views can adopt
the convention as needed).

`useAutoScroll` previously called `scrollToBottom()` on every effect
mount, which would have overwritten the restored offset every time a
chat tab cycled back to visible. Guard it with a once-per-instance ref.

39f43a9a98 refactor(editor): unify attachment rendering into a single <Attachment> component (#2850)
Collapse the five separate attachment render paths (file-card NodeView,
image NodeView, readonly markdown img/fileCard renderers, AttachmentList
standalone fallback, and the parallel packages/ui/markdown renderer) into
one <Attachment attachment={a} /> dispatcher.

Fixes a P0 visual regression: a PNG attached to a message but not inlined
in the markdown body used to render as a gray "file card" because
getPreviewKind() lacked an "image" branch and image rendering bypassed
the dispatcher entirely. Now every surface routes through <Attachment>,
so the same PNG renders as a real <img> with hover toolbar and
preview-modal everywhere.

Key changes:
- PreviewKind gains "image"; getPreviewKind() detects image/* + common
extensions before the html/text branches (so svg stays image, not text).
- AttachmentPreviewModal gains case "image" (replaces the standalone
  ImageLightbox, which is deleted).
- New packages/views/editor/attachment.tsx owns all kind-aware routing
(image | html | file) and dispatches preview modal + download via the
existing useAttachmentPreview / useDownloadAttachment hooks. Subsumes
  the deleted AttachmentBlock.
- AttachmentInput.url accepts a forceKind hint so callers that *know*
the structural kind (markdown ![](url), Tiptap image node) skip the
filename-based autodetect — fixes a regression where empty or
descriptive alt text would route an image to the file-card chrome.
- Tiptap NodeViews (file-card.tsx, image-view.tsx) shrink to thin
wrappers that forward editor hints (selected, deleteNode, uploading)
  to <Attachment>.
- ReadonlyContent and AttachmentList each mount their own
AttachmentDownloadProvider so url → record resolution works outside
  ContentEditor's provider.
- packages/ui/markdown gains optional renderImage / renderFileCard slot
  props; packages/views/common/markdown.tsx injects <Attachment> into
those slots and threads message attachments through to chat /
  skill-file viewers.
- chat-message-list passes message.attachments to every <Markdown> call
site and renders a standalone AttachmentList under each bubble for
attachments not referenced in the body.

Tests: attachment.test.tsx covers 9 scenarios (record image / pdf / html;
url-only image with resolver hit and miss; uploading state; editable
delete; forceKind regression). attachment-preview-modal.test.tsx gains
image-dispatch cases. 652/652 unit tests pass.

e7db644563 fix(chat): make session dropdown width track its trigger (MUL-2223) (#2630)
The chat header dropdown was capped at max-w-80 while the trigger
could grow unbounded with the current chat title, so the popup
appeared narrower than the trigger and titles inside were truncated
early. Cap the trigger at max-w-96 and let the popup inherit the
trigger width via --anchor-width with the same upper bound, so the
two stay visually consistent and only truncate at extreme lengths.

2c7738b03a feat(issues): close composer attachment preview loop end-to-end (#2594)
Text/code attachments (markdown, JSON, .ts, .log, …) need an attachment id
to render through `/api/attachments/{id}/content`. The composer pipeline
was dropping that id at the upload-hook boundary, so the Eye preview gate
only fired for media (PDF / video / audio via filename fallback).

- `useFileUpload` now returns the full `Attachment` (with `link` kept as a
`url` alias) so editor providers can resolve content-type and id.
- New-comment and reply composers hold a `pendingAttachments` state and
feed it to `ContentEditor`; the active subset (those still referenced in
the markdown) is sent on submit as before.
- Comment edit modes (CommentRow + CommentCardImpl) merge pending uploads
with `entry.attachments` for the editor and pipe `attachment_ids` into
`onEdit` so newly uploaded files actually bind to the comment.
- Issue description editor pushes pending `attachment_ids` on every
debounced save and invalidates `issueKeys.attachments` so the preview
  Eye survives a refresh.
- `UpdateComment` and `UpdateIssue` handlers accept `attachment_ids` and
  call the existing `linkAttachmentsByIDs` / `linkAttachmentsByIssueIDs`
helpers; the bind is idempotent so re-sending an existing id is safe.

e2802a5407 fix(chat): commit rename only on real outside click, not on hover (#2527)
Base UI's Menu uses focus-follows-cursor — hovering a sibling row drags
DOM focus to that row, which made the rename input's onBlur=save fire
just from moving the mouse. The result: clicking the pencil and then
nudging the cursor would silently commit a half-typed title.

Replace the blur handler with a document-level pointerdown listener
(capture phase, so it runs before Base UI's outside-click close handler
unmounts the input). The listener only commits when the user actually
clicks somewhere outside the input. Enter still commits, Escape still
cancels, mouse hover is now a no-op.

51aa924124 feat(chat): support renaming chat sessions inline (#2522)
Adds a pencil icon next to the trash icon on each session row in the chat
dropdown. Clicking it turns the title into an inline editable input:
Enter / blur saves, Escape cancels.

Server: new PATCH /api/chat/sessions/{id} handler that updates the title
via the existing `UpdateChatSessionTitle` sqlc query, broadcasts a new
`chat:session_updated` WS event so other tabs / devices stay in sync, and
rejects blank titles. Frontend mutation is optimistic with rollback,
matching the existing delete-session pattern.

81b62fc8d3 fix(chat): eliminate Skeleton flash on new-chat first message (#2518)
In a new chat (no active session), the first send momentarily rendered
ChatMessageSkeleton before the user's message appeared. Root cause:
ensureSession called setActiveSession(newId) immediately after creating
the session, *before* handleSend wrote the optimistic message to the
chatKeys.messages(sessionId) cache. useQuery's first subscription to the
new key saw no data → isLoading=true → showSkeleton rendered for one
frame.

Apply TanStack Query's "seed the cache before subscription" pattern:
move setActiveSession out of ensureSession and into the callers, after
they've primed the messages cache. handleSend writes the optimistic
user message first, then flips activeSessionId; handleUploadFile seeds
an empty array first, then flips. useQuery's first read hits cache
synchronously and ChatMessageList mounts directly — no Skeleton frame.

This is a distinct race from the chat-done flicker fixed in #2509
(unmount/mount on reply completion); both share the same prime-before-
subscribe shape.

a1c2d53939 fix(chat): keep editor mounted across lazy session creation (#2457)
The first file upload in a brand-new chat showed the blob preview for
a moment and then disappeared — the upload looked like it had failed
even though the attachment was actually saved.

Root cause: `<ContentEditor key={draftKey}>`. `draftKey` includes
`activeSessionId`, and `handleUploadFile` (chat-window.tsx) awaits
`ensureSession("")` before forwarding the file to the upload handler.
Lazy-create flips `activeSessionId` from null to a uuid mid-upload,
which changes `draftKey`, which forces React to remount the editor.
The blob image node inserted by `uploadAndInsertFile` was on the old
editor instance; by the time the upload settled, the swap-to-CDN-URL
walk in file-upload.ts couldn't find the blob src in the new editor
and finally `URL.revokeObjectURL` released the blob — broken image.

The create-issue modal has the same draft-store pattern but does not
hit this bug because it never sets a `key` on its ContentEditor; the
editor lives for the lifetime of the modal regardless of draft churn.

Split the two concerns the previous `draftKey` was conflating:

- `draftKey` (zustand storage key) keeps `activeSessionId` so each
session gets its own draft slot — unchanged behaviour.
- `editorKey` (React identity key) drops `activeSessionId` and only
varies on `selectedAgentId`, which is the actual signal Tiptap's
Placeholder needs to refresh on agent switch.

Now the editor stays mounted across the lazy session creation. The
blob preview survives long enough for the swap to find it, and the
user sees the image render normally on the very first upload of a new
chat.

body returns EMPTY_ATTACHMENT instead of an undefined-keyed Attachment,
  matching the API boundary rule.

* fix(chat): address PR #2445 review — test ctx, send gating, attachment surface

1. Backend test was 400ing because the handler reads workspace from
middleware-injected ctx, and `newRequest` only sets the header. Helper
`withChatTestWorkspaceCtx` mirrors the agent-access-test pattern and
loads the member row + SetMemberContext before invoking the handler.

2. Attachment metadata now flows end-to-end:
   - new sqlc `ListAttachmentsByChatMessageIDs` (batch lookup, mirrors the
     comment-side query)
   - `chatMessageToResponse` takes `attachments` and `ChatMessageResponse`
surfaces them — same shape as CommentResponse
   - `ListChatMessages` loads them via a new `groupChatMessageAttachments`
helper so the chat bubble can render file cards
   - daemon claim path pulls `ListAttachmentsByChatMessage` for the latest
user message and ships `ChatMessageAttachments` to the daemon
   - `buildChatPrompt` lists id+filename+content_type and instructs the
agent to `multica attachment download <id>` — fixes the private-CDN
expiring-URL problem where the markdown URL would have expired by
     the time the agent acts
   - TS `ChatMessage` gains an optional `attachments` field

3. Chat composer now blocks send while uploads are in flight:
   - `pendingUploads` counter increments in handleUpload, SubmitButton
     uses it to disable
   - handleSend also gates on `editorRef.current.hasActiveUploads()` to
catch the Mod+Enter path that bypasses the button
   - new vitest covers the "drop large file → immediate send" scenario
where attachment id would otherwise be silently dropped

34a7ba9865 fix(chat): unify chat and comment send shortcut to Mod+Enter (#2398)
Chat input had `submitOnEnter` enabled while the comment editor used
`Mod+Enter`. Two consequences:

- Inconsistent muscle memory between the two inputs.
- In chat, bare Enter sending stole the only key that continues a
TipTap bullet/ordered list. Shift+Enter falls through to HardBreak
(a <br> inside the same list item), so bullet lists were stuck at
  one item.

Drop `submitOnEnter` from the chat input so it follows the editor
default. Mod+Enter (⌘↵ / Ctrl+Enter) sends in both places; bare Enter
now continues lists and inserts paragraphs as users expect.

Surface the shortcut on the SubmitButton via a new optional `tooltip`
prop, and route the comment input through SubmitButton instead of an
ad-hoc Button — same affordance, deduped.

Add unit coverage for the submit-shortcut extension that pins
Mod-Enter, the submitOnEnter=false case, IME, and code-block guards.

47aa32a04d refactor(chat): unify session list into single dropdown with grouped active/archived (#2220)
The chat window used to fire two parallel session queries (active subset
+ full list) and surfaced them through two UI entry points (the title
dropdown + a History icon panel). The two caches drifted during the
WS-invalidate window — visible as "completed → reload → ghost row"
flickers — and the History toggle was a redundant entry into the same
underlying data.

Collapse to one cache (full list, ?status=all) and one entry point
(dropdown). The dropdown groups locally into Active / Archived; the
archived group is collapsed by default with a count, and per-row
delete moves into the dropdown via hover-revealed trash + confirm
dialog. Backend stays untouched: old desktop builds still hit
GET /chat-sessions without ?status and continue receiving the active
subset, so installed clients are unaffected.

c784a6a9ee feat(chat): copy assistant reply + collapse process into a single outer fold (#2151)
Restructures the assistant timeline into a Conductor-style "X steps"
outer fold that wraps every thinking/tool/intermediate-text item between
the first and last non-text item; the final answer renders below the
fold at full prose size. The inner per-row Collapsibles
(ThinkingRow / ToolCallRow / ToolResultRow) are unchanged.

Adds an inline footer "Replied in 38s · [Copy]" beneath each persisted
assistant reply. Copy puts the markdown source of the visible text
(preface + final, never middle) on the clipboard via the existing
`copyMarkdown` helper. Suppressed during streaming.

Pure carving + extraction lives in `chat/lib/copy-text.ts` with 11 unit
tests covering all timeline shapes (all-text, all-non-text, standard,
preface, multi-final, legacy fallback).

Also cleans up 7 pre-existing `text-[11px]` arbitrary values in this
file to `text-xs`, and uses standard `size="icon-xs"` Button variant
for the Copy button (no manual size overrides).

3447764b03 feat(i18n): full rollout — 21 namespaces translated (en + zh-Hans) (#1853)
* feat(i18n): rollout phase — translate 9 namespaces (WIP)

Phase 1 complete (基建 + login + Settings language switcher),
phase 2 partial (Wave 4 done, search done). Pending namespaces
documented inline; another developer can pick up from here.

Infrastructure
--------------
- server: add users.language column + extend PATCH /api/me
  (TestUpdateMeAcceptsLanguage / TestUpdateMePreservesLanguage)
- packages/core/i18n: types / pickLocale (intl-localematcher) /
  browser-cookie-adapter / createI18n (initAsync false +
  useSuspense false) / I18nProvider / LocaleAdapterProvider
- Split server-safe vs React entries:
    @multica/core/i18n        — for proxy/RSC/middleware (no React)
@multica/core/i18n/react — for client trees (createContext)
(RSC vendored React lacks createContext; mixed import would crash
  proxy.ts at module load.)
- packages/views/i18n: useT hook + selector API augmentation
  (i18next v26 default; auto-propagates to apps via the side-effect
  import in use-t.ts).
- apps/web: proxy.ts (Next 16 renamed middleware) merges existing
  legacy/root redirects with x-multica-locale header forwarding;
layout.tsx reads locale via headers() and pre-loads RSC resources.
- apps/desktop: webPreferences.additionalArguments injects
  systemLocale (no sendSync — avoids main-thread blocking IPC);
  renderer adapter reads via process.argv.
- ESLint: i18next/no-literal-string at file-scope for translated
  files via packages/views/eslint.config.mjs TRANSLATED_FILES.
- glossary.md (packages/views/locales/) freezes term policy:
  Issue / Workspace / Agent / Skill / Autopilot / Daemon / Runtime
stay English; Inbox / Project / Comment / Member translate.

Translated namespaces (9 / 19)
------------------------------
- auth: login page (web wrapper含 desktop-handoff 文案) + Settings
  Appearance language switcher
- editor: 9 .tsx (bubble-menu / link-hover-card / readonly-content /
  title-editor / extensions: code-block / file-card / image-view /
  mention-suggestion) + 32 keys
- invite: 25 keys
- labels / members / my-issues: Wave 4 全部
- search: command palette 35 keys
- navigation: no user-facing strings (no-op)

Pending (10 / 19)
-----------------
issues (46 files / ~210 keys)
agents (29 files / ~155 keys; presence.ts + config.ts label maps
  允许进 i18n)
onboarding (22 files / ~150 keys)
settings rest / skills / modals / workspace / chat / inbox /
projects / autopilots / layout

Workflow for picking up
-----------------------
- Glossary: packages/views/locales/glossary.md (mandatory read)
- Reference impls: auth/login-page.tsx + editor/* (selector API +
  i18n-provider test wrapper pattern)
- Per namespace:
    1. create locales/{en,zh-Hans}/{ns}.json
    2. add to packages/views/i18n/resources-types.ts
    3. useT('{ns}') + t($ => $.foo) in components
    4. add files to TRANSLATED_FILES in eslint.config.mjs
    5. typecheck + test + lint must pass
- Subagents currently CANNOT write files (sandbox deny). Run as
hybrid: subagent researches + outputs full JSON + tsx diff,
  controller writes.

Other
-----
- scripts/init-worktree-env.sh: default
  MULTICA_DEV_VERIFICATION_CODE=888888 in dev for deterministic
  login (gated by isProductionEnv).

Verified: pnpm typecheck (6 pkgs ok), pnpm test (232 pass),
make test (Go).

* docs(i18n): rewrite glossary aligned with docs zh voice

Switch translation policy to match the canonical CN voice already
established in apps/docs/content/docs/*.zh.mdx (20+ files). The new
rule splits product nouns into two classes:

- Typed entities (issue / project / skill / autopilot / task) — kept as
lowercase English in CN text, visually marking them as system types.
- Concepts (workspace / agent / daemon / runtime / inbox) — fully
translated (工作区 / 智能体 / 守护进程 / 运行时 / 收件箱).

Previous glossary kept Workspace / Agent / Daemon / Runtime as English
on "工程惯例" grounds, but docs zh and CN AI ecosystem (Coze / 腾讯元器
/ 百度) consistently translate these. App UI now matches docs voice so
users don't see split personality between the app and its own docs.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* fix(i18n): register 6 namespaces and retrofit zh strings to new glossary

Two fixes that were blocking the previously-translated namespaces from
actually rendering in CN:

1. RESOURCES gap — locales/index.ts only loaded common/auth/settings,
but resources-types.ts declared 12 namespaces and 6 of them had real
translation content. At runtime i18next would fall back to raw keys
   for editor / invite / labels / members / my-issues / search.
   Register all 9 currently-translated namespaces.

2. Retrofit zh strings to the docs-aligned glossary:
   - "Issue" → "issue" (lowercase entity)
   - "Workspace" → "工作区"
   - "Agent" → "智能体"
   - "Runtime" → "运行时"
   - "Skill" → "skill" (lowercase)
   - "项目" → "project" (lowercase)

Touched: editor.json (sub_issue + mention.group_issues), invite.json
(3 Workspace occurrences), members.json (agents_section / more_agents),
my-issues.json (8 retrofits across page/header/errors), search.json
(13 retrofits across groups/pages/commands/empty).

Verified: pnpm typecheck (6/6) + pnpm test (238/238) all green.

* feat(i18n): translate inbox namespace

First namespace through the sub-agent → main-agent integration pipeline.

JSON: en/inbox.json + zh-Hans/inbox.json — 60 keys across page / menu /
list / detail / types / labels / errors. Time-formatter labels are kept
compact in EN ("5m" / "3h" / "2d") and use full units in zh ("5 分钟" /
"5 小时" / "5 天") since raw "5 分" reads as "5 marks/points" in CN.

Component changes converted two module-level statics into hooks so the
strings can flow through i18next:

- inbox-list-item.tsx: `timeAgo` (pure fn) → `useTimeAgo` (hook
returning a fn). The local copy is a duplicate of @multica/core/utils
`timeAgo` that is only used by inbox-page; other consumers across
chat/agents/skills/issues stay on the core util for now and will be
  translated when their namespaces land.

- inbox-detail-label.tsx: `typeLabels` (static const Record) →
`useTypeLabels` (hook returning the same Record shape). Call sites
keep the existing `typeLabels[type]` access pattern.

inbox-page.tsx now uses both hooks and `useT('inbox')` selector calls
for all hardcoded strings (~24 sites: header / dropdown menu / list
empty state / detail panel / mobile back / quick-create-failed flow /
all error toasts).

Wired up: resources-types.ts, locales/index.ts RESOURCES, ESLint
TRANSLATED_FILES (3 inbox tsx files now lint-protected).

Verified: pnpm typecheck (6/6) + pnpm --filter @multica/views test
(238/238) + ESLint clean on inbox/.

* feat(i18n): translate workspace namespace

Translates the three workspace shell views: create-workspace-form,
new-workspace-page, no-access-page. Also fixes the prior-art
no-unescaped-entities lint errors in no-access-page.tsx — the
apostrophes in "doesn't" / "don't" were JSX text literals that move
into JSON values after translation, so the lint rule no longer fires.

Tests wrapped: workspace/create-workspace-form.test.tsx,
workspace/no-access-page.test.tsx, modals/create-workspace.test.tsx
all now wrap render() with <I18nProvider locale="en"> so the en values
in workspace.json drive the rendered text and the existing assertions
continue to match.

Slug constants kept: WORKSPACE_SLUG_FORMAT_ERROR /
WORKSPACE_SLUG_CONFLICT_ERROR exports in workspace/slug.ts are still
imported by onboarding/steps/step-workspace.tsx (out of scope here).
The workspace shell now reads its strings from workspace.json directly.

Multica.ai brand prefix in the slug input affordance is wrapped with
an inline `// eslint-disable-next-line i18next/no-literal-string` per
glossary policy on brand names.

Renamed sign_in_other → sign_in_different to avoid colliding with
i18next's `_other` plural-suffix convention which the selector-API
typings treated as a plural form of `sign_in`.

* feat(i18n): translate projects namespace

Translates the projects list page, project detail page, project picker
dropdown, and project chip — all four user-facing surfaces under
packages/views/projects/components/.

New file: projects/components/labels.ts exposes three hooks that
replace the static `.label` field on PROJECT_STATUS_CONFIG /
PROJECT_PRIORITY_CONFIG and the previous module-level
`formatRelativeDate` helper. Core's `.label` stays untouched (it's
still consumed by search and the create-project modal, both
out-of-scope for this namespace) — those will flip when their
respective namespaces translate.

In zh, the "project" entity stays lowercase English per glossary
(`新建 project`, `还没有 project`, `从 project 移除`). Status / priority /
table column labels translate fully.

The cancelled / done / paused etc. status labels duplicate per-
namespace as `projects.status.*` rather than reading from a future
shared status namespace. This matches the auth/inbox/workspace
pattern of self-contained namespaces. If a generic "issue/project
status" pool emerges later, these can collapse.

Verified: pnpm --filter @multica/views typecheck (clean) +
test (238/238) + ESLint clean on projects/ (1 pre-existing warning
about useEffect/sidebarRef dep, unrelated to i18n).

* feat(i18n): translate autopilots namespace

Six tsx files: autopilots-page (list + 6 templates), autopilot-detail-page
(properties / triggers / run history / delete), autopilot-dialog
(create + edit dialog), trigger-config (cron form), and the agent /
timezone pickers.

Hook conversions for module-level helpers that need t():
- summarizeTrigger / describeTrigger → useSummarizeTrigger /
useDescribeTrigger (no external callers, removed the plain exports)
- formatRelativeDate → useFormatRelativeDate (per-component hook)
- formatCountdown → useFormatCountdown (per-component hook)
- TEMPLATES array now keyed by id; titles + summaries pull from
templates/{id}/{title,summary} JSON. Prompts stay raw EN since
they're injected directly into the agent task — translating them
would translate the agent's instructions, not the user's UI.

Status / execution-mode / run-status enums render via t($ => $.status[k])
with k typed against the core type (no separate hook needed).

Verified: pnpm --filter @multica/views typecheck (clean) +
test (238/238) + ESLint clean on autopilots/.

* feat(i18n): translate skills namespace

Seven tsx files: skills-page (list + filters + intro banner),
skill-detail-page (the giant — properties + file tree + sidebar +
conflict banner + delete dialog, ~963 lines), create-skill-dialog
(chooser + manual + URL forms), runtime-local-skill-import-panel
(local runtime browse + import), skill-columns, file-tree, file-viewer.

Notable patterns:
- `createSkillColumns` factory → `useSkillColumns` hook so column
headers flow through useT. Column identity changes per render is
  fine — DataTable handles it.
- `validateNewFilePath` (pure helper) → `useValidateNewFilePath` hook
so the 5 validation error messages can be translated.
- skill_files / used_by / description_with_agents use i18next plural
  keys (`_one` / `_other`) — the type system collapses these into a
single PluralValue access, so call sites use
  `t($ => $.foo, { count })` and i18next picks the form.
- Per glossary, "skill" stays lowercase EN in zh ("新建 skill",
  "已删除 skill", "未找到该 skill").

Test wrapper: runtime-local-skill-import-panel.test.tsx now wraps
render() with <I18nProvider> so the assertion on /Import to Workspace/i
matches the EN translation.

Verified: pnpm --filter @multica/views typecheck (clean) +
test (238/238) + ESLint clean on skills/.

* feat(i18n): translate chat namespace

Translates all 10 chat surfaces: FAB tooltip, input placeholders,
message list (replied-in / failed-after / tools group / show-details
/ tool result preview), session history (header + time-ago labels),
chat window (new-chat / restore / expand / minimize / agent + session
dropdowns / starter prompts / empty states), context-anchor button +
card tooltips, no-agent banner, offline / unstable banner, and the
task-status pill (queued / starting up / thinking / typing + tool
labels: running command / reading files / searching code / making
edits / searching web).

Hook conversions:
- formatTimeAgo (chat-session-history) → useFormatTimeAgo
- ElapsedCaption now takes a typed `variant` ("replied" | "failed")
instead of a free-text `verb` so the i18n key is enumerable
- pickStage (task-status-pill) refactored: pure pickStageKeys returns
StageKey + optional ToolKey; useResolveStage maps to localized labels

Translation policy notes:
- Starter prompts ("List my open tasks by priority", etc.) are user
UI when displayed AND the user's input when clicked — translating
them sends the agent the user's locale-native phrasing, which is
the right UX for a CN user using a CN agent.
- buildAnchorMarkdown (chat-window) stays in English: it's an
agent-bound markdown prefix injected into the outgoing message,
  not user-facing UI.

Verified: pnpm --filter @multica/views typecheck (clean) +
test (238/238).

* feat(i18n): translate modals namespace

Translates all 11 modal sources: registry (no UI text), backlog-agent-hint,
set-parent-issue, add-child-issue, delete-issue-confirm, feedback,
issue-picker, create-workspace, create-project, create-issue (manual),
quick-create-issue (agent panel).

Notable patterns:
- create-project re-uses useProjectStatusLabels / useProjectPriorityLabels
hooks from views/projects/components/labels — same translation source
as the projects list / detail, no duplication.
- create-issue.tsx: renamed `toast.custom((t) => ...)` callback param to
`toastId` to avoid shadowing the closure-captured useT() `t` function.
- Test wrapper added to modals/create-issue.test.tsx so the two assertions
on rendered modal text (success toast + Create another) match the EN
bundle. modals/create-workspace.test.tsx was already wrapped (workspace
  ns commit).

Verified: pnpm --filter @multica/views typecheck (clean) +
test (238/238).

* feat(i18n): translate settings namespace (rest of tabs)

Builds on the appearance-tab + language switcher already shipped in
Phase 0. Translates the remaining 8 settings surfaces: settings-page
shell (left nav + tab keys), account / profile, notifications-tab
(5 group labels + descriptions), tokens-tab (create / list /
revoke / created dialog), workspace-tab (general fields + danger
zone + leave/delete confirmations), members-tab (invite + role
config + revoke / remove flows), repositories-tab, labs-tab,
delete-workspace-dialog.

Hook conversion: members-tab `roleConfig` static const → `useRoleLabels`
hook returning a Record<MemberRole, {label, description, icon}>. The
icon stays as a typed React component (Crown / Shield / User), so
rendering pattern is unchanged at call sites.

Test wrapper: settings/components/delete-workspace-dialog.test.tsx
now wraps render() with <I18nProvider> (custom render() helper)
because the test asserts on rendered button labels ("Delete workspace",
"Cancel", "Deleting...").

Verified: pnpm --filter @multica/views typecheck (clean) +
test (238/238).

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* feat(i18n): translate runtimes namespace (entry surfaces)

Translates the user-facing runtime list page surfaces:
runtimes-page (header / search / filters / chips / empty / no-matches /
bootstrapping), runtime-detail (topbar + delete dialog + delete toasts),
runtime-detail-page (not-found state), shared.tsx (4-state HealthBadge
labels).

Hook conversion: shared `healthLabel(health)` was a pure module-level
function. Added `useHealthLabel` hook for translated call sites; kept
`healthLabel` as an EN-only fallback for non-component callers (column
factory in runtime-columns).

Deferred:
- runtime-list / runtime-columns (data table column headers + cell
bodies) — large surface, not in the page-load critical path.
- connect-remote-dialog / update-section / usage-section — secondary
flows, English remains acceptable until a focused pass.
- charts/* — primarily numeric tooltips and axes; minimal user-visible
  text.

Verified: pnpm --filter @multica/views typecheck (clean) +
test (238/238).

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* feat(i18n): translate layout namespace (sidebar nav, help, loader)

Translates the cross-cutting layout chrome:
- 9 sidebar nav labels (inbox / my issues / issues / projects /
  autopilots / agents / runtimes / skills / settings) — driven by
labelKey instead of inline strings, resolved via useT at render.
- HelpLauncher dropdown (trigger aria + 3 items: Docs / Change log
  / Feedback)
- WorkspaceLoader (named + unnamed loading states)
- SortablePinItem unpin tooltip

Pattern shift in app-sidebar.tsx: nav arrays carry `labelKey: NavLabelKey`
(typed against the layout JSON) instead of `label: string`. The string
comparison checks (`item.label === "Inbox"`) became cleaner ID-based
checks (`item.key === "inbox"`).

Deferred: deeper sidebar surfaces — workspace switcher dropdown,
"New Issue" CTA, "Pinned" / "Workspace" / "Configure" group labels —
remain English. The 9 nav labels are the ones that read in every
session.

Verified: pnpm --filter @multica/views typecheck (clean) +
test (238/238).

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* feat(i18n): translate onboarding namespace (welcome + step header)

Translates the user-first-impression surfaces of the onboarding flow:

- step-welcome.tsx (the wordmark, headline, lede paragraphs, all CTAs:
Download Desktop / Continue on web / Start exploring / I've done
  this before, illustration caption)
- step-header.tsx ("Step N of M" counter + matching aria-label)
- onboarding-flow.tsx (skip-onboarding error toast)

Test wrapper added to onboarding/components/step-header.test.tsx —
custom render() helper wraps with <I18nProvider> so the "Step 2 of 5"
assertions match the EN bundle.

Deferred (acceptable English fallback for now): step-questionnaire,
step-workspace, step-runtime-connect, step-platform-fork, step-agent,
step-first-issue, cli-install-instructions, option-card, runtime
aside panels, starter-content-prompt, cloud-waitlist-expand. These
are deeper steps with significant copy that would benefit from a
focused dedicated pass — voice on each is more nuanced (questionnaire
options, runtime install instructions, agent template recommendations).

Verified: pnpm --filter @multica/views typecheck (clean) +
test (238/238).

* test(i18n): add EN/zh-Hans key parity guard

Schema-level vitest that walks RESOURCES.en and RESOURCES["zh-Hans"]
namespace by namespace and asserts both bundles cover the same key
set. i18next plural rule is normalized before compare (`_one` /
`_other` collapse to a single logical key) so EN's plural pair
matches zh's `_other`-only form.

Catches retrofit drift where a new EN key lands without zh —
previously this would silently fall back to the English string in
production. Cheap to keep green: 39 tests across 21 namespaces in
under a second.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* feat(i18n): translate issues namespace

Translates the entire issues surface — list / board / detail / comments /
sub-issues / activity feed / batch toolbar / pickers / context menu /
backlog-agent hint dialog / labels panel.

Component coverage:
- issues-page (page header, empty state, move-failed toast)
- issues-header (scope tabs, filter dropdowns w/ status/priority/
assignee/creator/project/label, display settings, sort, view toggle)
- issue-detail (page header, breadcrumb, properties / parent issue /
details / token usage sections, sub-issues, activity timeline,
  formatActivity for status/priority/assignee/title/due-date changes,
  subscribe/subscriber popover)
- comment-card + comment-input + reply-input (delete dialog, edit/save,
copy/edit/delete row, reply count, placeholders, expand/collapse)
- agent-live-card (is-working banner, tool count, stop / transcript)
- execution-log-section (section header, show/hide past runs, trigger
  text builder, status labels, cancel-task)
- batch-action-toolbar (selected count, delete dialog with plurals)
- backlog-agent-hint-dialog (full dialog content)
- labels-panel (intro, create form, list, delete dialog)
- pickers (status / priority / assignee / due-date / label / property
  search placeholder + no-results)
- issue-actions-menu-items (all dropdown / context menu items)
- use-issue-actions / use-issue-timeline (toast strings)

STATUS_CONFIG / PRIORITY_CONFIG label rendering routed through
$.status[enum] / $.priority[enum] at every call site; the core config
keeps its English fallback for non-i18n consumers but UI never reads
.label directly anymore.

Tests retrofitted: issues-page, issue-detail, and issue-actions-menu
RTL specs now wrap renders in <I18nProvider> with the EN bundle, so
their string assertions match the bundle (not hardcoded literals).

ESLint i18next allow-list extended to 24 issues files. Verified:
pnpm --filter @multica/views typecheck + test (277/277) all green.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* feat(i18n): translate agents namespace

Translates the agents listing + detail surface and the create/duplicate
flow. Covers the high-frequency surfaces; deeper sub-tab editors
(activity / instructions / skills / env / custom-args bodies, and the
hooks-buggy runtime/model/concurrency pickers) are deferred — they
have their own pre-existing react-hooks rule violations and benefit
from a focused dedicated pass.

Component coverage:
- agents-page (page header w/ tagline + new button, scope segment,
search, sort dropdown, availability chips, archived toolbar, empty
  state, no-matches messaging w/ search interpolation, list-load
  error)
- agent-detail-page (back link, archived banner, archive dialog,
not-found state, all 4 toast strings)
- agent-detail-inspector (avatar editor, name + description popover,
description dialog, every PropRow label, validation message,
presence badge label sourced from $.availability[enum])
- agent-overview-pane (tab labels, discard-unsaved-changes dialog)
- create-agent-dialog (title / description / labels / placeholders /
duplicate-suffix / runtime filter buttons / runtime status copy)
- agent-row-actions (full dropdown items + cancel-tasks dialog with
  pluralized "N running + M queued" summary + archive dialog + 6 toasts)
- agent-columns (every header cell, You / Archived chips, runtime
fallback labels, availability + workload labels via $.availability /
  $.workload, activity tooltip body w/ created_today / created_days_ago
  / runs / failed-percent interpolation)
- inspector/skill-attach (Attach trigger label + aria)

availabilityConfig and workloadConfig now keep colors only — the
display label lives in the bundle, sourced via $.availability[enum]
and $.workload[enum] at every call site. Same pattern as
STATUS_CONFIG/PRIORITY_CONFIG in the issues namespace.

ESLint i18next allow-list extended to 8 agents files.
Verified: pnpm --filter @multica/views typecheck + test (277/277)
all green.

* fix(i18n): clear 30 stray EN strings in translated files

Tail of literal strings missed in earlier passes — the ESLint i18next
allow-list flagged them but they slipped through review. Files touched:

- layout/app-sidebar.tsx (10 keys: Workspaces / Pending invitations /
Create workspace / Join / Decline / Log out / New Issue + shortcut /
  Pinned / Workspace / Configure)
- runtimes/components/runtime-detail.tsx (Serving header + serving_count
pluralization, no_agents copy, running/queued chips with count
interpolation, Diagnostics header, CLI label, Delete runtime button,
Technical details toggle, last seen interpolation)
- onboarding/steps/step-welcome.tsx (entire WelcomeIllustration mock —
  5 cards × actor names + body copy + 3 mention chips + 2 timestamps;
zh translation reads naturally instead of leaving the demo English)
- settings/components/labs-tab.tsx (`Co-authored-by: ...` git trailer
wrapped in {} so linter sees a JS string, not JSX text — magic
identifier git relies on, must not translate)
- settings/components/members-tab.tsx (✓ glyph wrapped in {})
- modals/feedback.tsx (⌘↵ shortcut wrapped in {})

ServingAgentsCard now reads availability/workload labels from
`agents` namespace (cross-namespace useT) so the bundle-truth pattern
holds: presenceConfig keeps colours only, label text comes from the
shared bundle.

Verified: typecheck + 277/277 tests + lint (only the pre-existing
react-hooks rule-of-hooks errors remain, which task #6 addresses).

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* fix(agents): rules-of-hooks + translate 4 model/runtime pickers

Three pre-existing react-hooks/rules-of-hooks violations + one missing
useMemo dep cleared, then the four pickers wired through useT.

Hook order fixes:
- concurrency-picker: useEffect now runs before the !canEdit early
return. Stale-draft reset still works the same way.
- runtime-picker: useMemo for the filtered list moved above the
  !canEdit branch.
- model-dropdown: `models = data?.models ?? []` was minting a fresh
array each render and tripping the deps lint of the downstream
useMemo. Wrap in useMemo so the reference is stable.

Translation coverage:
- concurrency-picker: tooltip ("Concurrency · N max..."), range
  helper text, Save button.
- runtime-picker: trigger label fallback ("No runtime"), tooltip
text composed from {{name}} + status, Mine/All filter buttons,
empty-list copy, "owned by {{name}}" + status fragments in row
  tooltip, Cloud badge, online/offline aria.
- model-picker: trigger label, tooltip, "Managed by runtime"
fallback, search placeholder, "Discovering models…", default
badge, "No models available", "Use \"X\"" custom-id flow, Clear
  button + its title.
- model-dropdown: every label string including the "Select a runtime
first" / "Default (provider)" / "Runtime offline — enter manually"
trigger fallbacks, the supported=false explanation block, discovery
  failed badge, all popover items.

ESLint allow-list extended to 4 picker files. Verified: typecheck +
277/277 tests + lint (0 errors, only pre-existing react-hooks warnings
in unrelated files).

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* feat(i18n): translate runtimes list + connect dialog + CLI updater

Three deep runtime surfaces wired through useT, with the agents
namespace doing double duty for shared availability/workload labels.

runtime-columns:
- 7 column headers via t-augmented createRuntimeColumns({ t }).
- HealthCell now reads from useHealthLabel() (already translation-aware)
instead of the EN-only healthLabel() helper.
- WorkloadCell sources the label from $.workload[enum] (cross-namespace
to agents) — colour stays via workloadConfig.
- CostCell delta "flat" copy + CLI cell "Desktop" badge + update-
  available aria/tooltip + RowMenu's full delete dialog (title /
  description with {{name}} interpolation / cancel / confirm /
deleting state) plus its admin-permission hint.

connect-remote-dialog:
- Three steps fully translated: instructions (header + 4 numbered
steps + security warning + troubleshooting list with mono code
snippets escaped as JS strings), waiting (loader + hint), success
  (CTA pair).
- Mono CLI commands wrapped in {} so linter sees JS strings — those
are literal commands that must stay untranslated for the user to
  paste into a terminal.

update-section:
- statusConfig collapsed to icon+colour only; labels move to
  $.update.status[enum] for proper translation per-state.
- "CLI Version:" / "Latest" / "available" / "Update" / "Retry"
copy + the "Managed by Desktop" tooltip and disabled hint.

Layout helpers tagged: runtime-list passes `t` through to the column
factory the same way agent-columns does.

ESLint allow-list extended with the 4 wired files. Verified:
typecheck + 277/277 tests + 0 i18n lint errors. usage-section.tsx
(KPI cards / WhenChart / TopUsageBreakdown / receipt table) is the
remaining runtimes surface — chart-heavy and benefits from a focused
pass next.

* feat(i18n): translate 5 agent detail tabs + skill-add dialog

The 5 tabs that fill the agent detail right pane plus the shared
skill picker dialog. Agents bundle gains a `tab_body` block with
sub-namespaces per tab + a `common` slot for save/add/unsaved.

Tab coverage:
- instructions-tab: intro paragraph, multi-line example placeholder
(full 18-line zh translation), Save / Unsaved.
- env-tab: read-only intro / empty state, editable intro with two
inline `<code>` env-var examples kept English (mono terminal
payloads), KEY / value placeholders, Show/Hide value aria, Add /
Remove aria, all 3 toasts (duplicate keys / saved / save failed).
- custom-args-tab: intro about whitespace splitting, launch-mode
prefix line + `<your args>` placeholder, --flag value placeholder,
  Add, Remove aria, both toasts.
- skills-tab: intro, Add skill button, import-hint callout, empty
  state title + hint + add-CTA, remove-failed toast.
- activity-tab: 3 section titles (Now / Last 30 days / Recent work),
active-task pluralization, performance subtitle, all 3 empty
  states, runs/success%/avg-duration/failed pluralization with
interpolation, source labels (Issue / Chat / Autopilot / Untracked),
source fallbacks (Quick create / Creating issue / Chat session /
Autopilot run), issue-short fallback, "Triggered by" tooltip
  header, open-issue / transcript / cancel-task tooltips and ARIAs,
cancelling state, started/dispatched/queued time prefixes, show
  more.
- skill-add-dialog: dialog title + description, empty list copy,
  Cancel button, add-failed toast.

skills-tab.test.tsx wrapped in <I18nProvider> with the EN bundle so
its `Local runtime skills are always available` assertion still
matches the resolved translation instead of the raw key path.

ESLint allow-list extended with the 6 wired files. Verified:
typecheck + 277/277 tests + 0 i18n lint errors. Only the per-test
mock for skills-tab needed wrapping; the other 4 tabs ship without
test files of their own and inherit the I18nProvider chain via
agent-overview-pane / agent-detail-page test renders (when those
exist later).

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* feat(i18n): translate onboarding step-questionnaire + option-card

The user-profile step (3 questions) is the first deferred onboarding
deep step now wired through useT.

step-questionnaire:
- Eyebrow + headline + answered-progress counter with {{count}}
  interpolation
- All 3 questions and their option labels (team size / role / use case)
- All 3 "Other" placeholders for free-text fallback
- Right-rail "Why three questions" / "What you get" panel: 2 eyebrow
  rows, 2 unlock-item title+body pairs, learn-more link
- Back / Continue buttons via shared `common` block

option-card: shared "Other" radio label and aria.

Test wrapped in <I18nProvider>. EN value of `other_label` kept as
"Other" so the existing /^other$/i regex in step-questionnaire.test
keeps matching after the rendering pipeline switched from a hardcoded
literal to a bundle lookup.

ESLint allow-list extended with these 2 files. The remaining 4 deep
steps (workspace / runtime-connect / platform-fork / agent), the
2 ancillary surfaces (cli-install-instructions / starter-content-
prompt), and the 3 side panels (runtime-aside-panel / cloud-waitlist-
expand / compact-runtime-row) will be surfaced + swept by the global
ESLint switch (next commit).

Verified: typecheck + 277/277 tests + 0 i18n lint errors.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* feat(i18n): flip ESLint to glob + drain remaining hardcoded EN

ESLint i18next/no-literal-string now applies to **/*.tsx by default
instead of an explicit allow-list. Files that genuinely still need
hardcoded EN are listed in STILL_HARDCODED — concrete, finite, and
the goal is to drain that list to zero.

Tail strings translated in this commit (surfaced by the global flip):

- common/task-transcript/agent-transcript-dialog.tsx — full dialog:
status badge (Running / Completed / Failed), sr-only DialogTitle,
Filter dropdown trigger + Clear filters, Copy all / Copy filtered /
Copied, tool-calls + events metadata chips with pluralization,
  events-filtered "{{shown}} of {{total}}" interpolation, "Waiting
for events..." live state, "No execution data recorded." past
state. New `transcript` block in agents namespace.
- runtimes/components/charts/activity-heatmap.tsx — Less / More
legend labels around the contribution-style heat squares.
- search/search-trigger.tsx — sidebar Search... button label.
⌘ glyph wrapped in {} to satisfy the linter (mono shortcut symbol,
  not translatable).

Holdouts (STILL_HARDCODED, ~14 files): the deep onboarding steps
(workspace / runtime-connect / platform-fork / agent / first-issue /
cli-install-instructions, plus 4 ancillary panels), the runtimes
usage-section + KPI cards, and 5 minor agent visual primitives
(sparkline / agent-presence-indicator / agent-profile-card /
visibility-badge / char-counter). Each one gets a dedicated future
pass; the global rule prevents new hardcoded strings from landing
elsewhere.

Verified: typecheck + 277/277 tests + 0 i18n lint errors.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* feat(i18n): drain agent visual primitives + onboarding small components

8 files removed from STILL_HARDCODED:

agents/components/:
- char-counter — over-limit text with {{count}} interpolation
- visibility-badge — uses new agents.visibility.{private,workspace}.
{label, tooltip} block; drops VISIBILITY_LABEL/TOOLTIP imports from
core in favour of bundle-driven copy
- agent-presence-indicator — availability + workload labels via
  $.availability[enum] / $.workload[enum] (cross-namespace),
  queue-badge "+N queued" with pluralization
- agent-profile-card — Agent unavailable / Detail link / Owner /
Skills / Runtime / Unknown runtime / Archived chip / availability
  line via cross-namespace lookup

agents.json: new presence + visibility + profile_card + char_counter
blocks.

onboarding/components/:
- compact-runtime-row — online/offline aria via agents.availability
- runtime-aside-panel — full content (What's a runtime / Good to
know / Swap anytime / Add more later / docs link)
- starter-content-prompt — full dialog (title / description with
inline emphasis / both buttons / 3 toasts)
- cloud-waitlist-expand — intro paragraph + warning span / email
  + reason labels + placeholders + Optional badge / Join + on-list
  states / both toasts

onboarding/steps/:
- cli-install-instructions — copy aria + intro + 2 step labels

onboarding.json: new runtime_aside / cli_install / starter_content /
cloud_waitlist blocks.

Tests for step-platform-fork + step-runtime-connect wrapped in
<I18nProvider> with EN bundle so /you're on the list/i etc. still
matches the resolved translations.

Verified: typecheck + 277/277 tests + 0 i18n lint errors.

* feat(i18n): translate onboarding deep steps

The 5 large onboarding steps that were deferred from earlier passes,
plus their support helpers, all wired through useT.

step-first-issue (final beat — flips onboarded_at):
- error_title / Retry / retry_failed toast / finishing / opening
  states.

step-agent (creates the user's first agent):
- Templates moved from a module-level const to a useT-driven
useAgentTemplates() hook. Names + emoji stay constant (visual
identity), labels + blurbs + instructions resolve from the
bundle. coding / planning / writing / assistant — all four
templates ship a full zh translation that reads naturally.
- Recommended badge, eyebrow + headline + lede, footer hint,
  Create {{name}} CTA, create_failed toast.
- Right-rail "About agents" panel (4 way-items + headline +
  add-more hint + docs link).

step-workspace (create or pick existing):
- 5 footer states (open / creating / creating-pending / name-first
/ pick), all hint + CTA strings via interpolation.
- Name + URL + slug placeholders, issue-prefix preview spans,
  Create-new card title + subtitle.
- 8-row WorkspacePreviewCard sidebar (Inbox / Issues / Agents /
  Projects / Autopilot / Runtimes / Skills / And more) — every
label + meta strapped to bundle keys.
- 4 perks (assign / chat / invite / switch) + 3 next-steps
  (runtime / agent / starter), 2 toasts (slug-conflict / failed).
- `multica.ai/${slug}` mono URL escaped via template-literal
expression so the linter sees a JS string.

step-runtime-connect (desktop scan flow):
- 3 phase headlines + ledes (scanning / found / empty), trust-strip
status (all online / N online / none online) with pluralization,
online/offline labels, Skip / Continue / Selected hint.
- Empty-view 2 cards (skip + waitlist) and the cloud waitlist
  dialog wrapper.

step-platform-fork (web fan-out):
- Eyebrow + headline + lede, footer hint with 3 phase variants.
- Primary download card (before/after click) + 2 alt cards (CLI /
  cloud) + CLI dialog with 4 elapsed-time stages (normal / midway /
  slow / stalled), live-listening header, runtime-connected
  pluralization, cloud waitlist dialog.

ESLint: STILL_HARDCODED list shrunk from 14 entries to 1 — only
runtimes/components/usage-section.tsx (chart-heavy KPI panel)
remains.

Verified: typecheck + 277/277 tests + 0 i18n lint errors.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* feat(i18n): translate runtimes usage panel + drop STILL_HARDCODED

Final i18n holdout: the runtimes usage panel (KPI hero, WHEN chart
tabs, cost-by breakdowns, daily breakdown table) is wired through
useT("runtimes"). With this drained, the eslint scaffolding for
explicit holdouts is removed — every JSX text node in @multica/views
now flows through i18n.

* fix(i18n): drain rollout gaps + add cross-device sync

Lands the post-review punch list for the i18n rollout: closes correctness
gaps that would have shipped silently, and adds the missing cross-device
locale sync the rollout's docs already promised.

Coverage:
- Register issues + agents namespaces in RESOURCES (90 useT call sites
  were rendering keys-as-text in production)
- Harden parity test to compare RESOURCES keys against on-disk JSON
files, so a future missing namespace registration fails loudly
- Server-side language whitelist in UpdateMe + reject-unsupported test
- Safe SupportedLocale resolution in appearance-tab (no more `as` cast
  on a region-tagged BCP-47 string)
- HTML lang attribute uses zh-CN (not zh-Hans) for screen reader / CJK
  font-stack compatibility
- Cookie Secure flag on https
- Pulled createBrowserCookieLocaleAdapter out of the server-safe entry
  into a new @multica/core/i18n/browser subpath; document.cookie access
can no longer leak into Edge middleware imports

Cross-device sync:
- New UserLocaleSync component mounted in CoreProvider; on login, if
user.language differs from the active i18n.language, persist via the
adapter and reload. Both apps benefit
- Desktop main process tracks system locale and emits IPC on focus when
it changes; renderer reloads only when the user has no explicit
Settings choice (their preference still wins)

Tests:
- pickLocale / matchLocale (11 cases incl. region-tagged BCP-47, malformed
  tags, zh-Hant collapse-to-zh-Hans semantics)
- browser-cookie-adapter (6 cases under jsdom)
- Shared renderWithI18n helper at packages/views/test/i18n.tsx that wraps
the real RESOURCES map; future tests opt in instead of inlining a
per-file TEST_RESOURCES slice that goes stale silently

* docs(conventions): consolidate naming + i18n glossary into docs site

Single source of truth for code naming, i18n translation glossary, and
Chinese voice rules. Previously split between packages/views/locales/glossary.md
and scattered comments — now lives at apps/docs/content/docs/developers/conventions.{mdx,zh.mdx}
with both English and Chinese versions kept in sync.

Three sections per page:
1. Code naming — routes, packages, files, DB, Go, TS, commits
2. i18n translation glossary — entity vs concept rule, what to translate,
word combination, plurals, interpolation, key naming
3. Chinese voice + style — punctuation, principles, where to look in doubt

Side effects:
- packages/views/locales/glossary.md collapses to a stub redirecting to
the docs page; do not edit it
- CLAUDE.md gets a new top-level "Conventions reference" section so any
Claude session sees the pointer before any other rule
- apps/docs/content/docs/developers/ gets a stub English meta.json so the
conventions page is reachable on the EN side (contributing.zh.mdx /
  architecture.zh.mdx remain ZH-only — separate work)
- Both root sidebars get a new "Developers" group

* fix(i18n): apply zh voice rules + translate project/autopilot

Two-part cleanup driven by the conventions doc landed last commit:

Voice violations (mechanical sweep across 10 zh-Hans namespaces):
- 「」 (Japanese-style brackets) → \" to match the EN source's straight
  double quotes (~13 sites)
- … (single-char ellipsis) → ... three dots (~43 sites)
- Drop translation-ese pronoun "我们" where it's a pure narrator
("我们已发送" → "已发送", "我们替你托管" → "由 Multica 托管"); keep
"告诉我们" where "we" is the legitimate brand recipient
- "作为父级 / 作为子级" → "设为父级 / 设为子级"
- "任务" mistranslated as the task entity → `task` (lowercase EN entity)
- Dialog title "Autopilot" → "autopilot"

Translate project / autopilot per industry consensus:
- `project` → 「项目」 (~42 value sites). Feishu / Tower / Teambition /
PingCode / GitHub Projects all translate; no Chinese product keeps
  `project`.
- `autopilot` → 「自动化」 (~34 value sites). Avoids the Tesla-style
「自动驾驶」 association; matches Notion / Feishu's industry term.
- Issue / skill / task remain lowercase EN per dev-team familiarity.
- Sidebar nav-label entities get Title Case ("Issue" / "Skill" / "我的
Issue") so the entry-point label reads as a proper UI signal; body
  prose stays lowercase.

Conventions doc (EN + ZH) reflects the decision and adds a "why these
translate but issue/skill/task don't" rationale block.

Verification: parity test 45/45, full monorepo typecheck green.

* feat(i18n): translate chat session delete + project resources section

Two features main shipped while this branch was idle never went through
the i18n pass:

- Chat session delete confirmation dialog (#2115) and history toggle
  tooltip (#2117): adds session_history.delete_dialog.* and
  session_history.row_delete_*, plus window.history_show_tooltip /
  history_back_tooltip.
- Project resources sidebar (#1926/#2080/#2111): entire component
including toasts, popover form, attach/remove tooltips. New
  projects.resources subtree.
