fix(agent): stop agents shipping local-path links, make Desktop 404 recoverable (MUL-4899) (#5557)
Agents were writing runtime-local paths into deliverables as clickable links (`[screenshot](/Users/agent/work/shot.png)`). Two root causes, both fixed here. A. The brief never stated the delivery contract. Add an always-on delivery invariant (outside writeOutput's kind switch, so no task kind can inherit none) plus a per-surface file-delivery line for each of the five surfaces. Chat splits into two: `attachment upload` works only on web/mobile chat, never on an IM channel, so ChatChannelType is now threaded into TaskContextForEnv. The claim path only ever looked up Slack bindings, so a Feishu session reported as a web chat and got upload guidance for a channel that cannot carry attachments. Probe every channel type. The chat policy is two independent layers and stays that way: delivery keys off "is there a channel at all"; the `chat history` / `chat thread` commands stay Slack-only because both endpoints are hardwired to h.SlackHistory and there is no Feishu reader — ChatInThread only selects between those two commands, so it stays Slack-only too. Add a CLI hard-fail lint on `issue comment add` / `issue create` / `issue update` as the enforcement backstop. Scoped narrowly, since a false positive blocks a real deliverable: agent task context only (a human's PAT run is untouched), real CommonMark link/image/autolink destinations only via goldmark (a path in a code span or fence — how an agent quotes a path it is discussing — is structurally invisible), and three high-confidence signals only (`file://`, inside the workdir, or an existing local file). A bare `/foo` is a valid origin-relative URI and is deliberately allowed. `issue update` has no --attachment flag, so its hint redirects to `comment add` rather than naming an argument it rejects. B. Desktop presented the resulting router 404 as an unknown crash. 8 of 18 desktop_route_error reports were users clicking such a link and being told the app broke and to file a bug. Split the 404 into a first-class Not Found view: no crash framing, no Report error. Its recovery entry comes from the tab store's active workspace, never from the failed pathname — deriving a slug from `/Users/me/shot.png` yields "Users" and a button to `/Users/issues`, a second 404. Also add a will-navigate trusted-origin guard via the shared loadRenderer (main + issue windows). This is origin hardening only, NOT the mechanism for in-app links: client-side routing never fires will-navigate, so app paths never reach it. Issue windows need no 404 work — their router only accepts paths validated by parseIssueWindowPath and they do not listen for multica:navigate, so a bad path cannot reach them. Server-side completion observation is metric/log only and never blocks: it is lexical (`file://` + task work_dir prefix) because the server cannot stat the daemon's filesystem, and the metric label is a closed enum so no path or reply text reaches Prometheus. Verified: pnpm typecheck/lint/test (3582 tests), go vet, full Go suite including new claim-path integration tests. cmd/multica was verified outside the daemon workdir — inside one, 93 of its tests fail identically on origin/main because the suite walks up and finds the runtime's own task marker. feat(chat): support images/files in agent chat replies (MUL-4287) (#5164)
* feat(chat): support images/files in agent chat replies (MUL-4287) Agents can now attach images/files to their chat replies, matching how comment attachments already work. The write-side gap was that the assistant chat_message is synthesized server-side from the completion callback's text output and never bound any attachments. Backend: - migration 150: nullable attachment.task_id (+ partial index), the transient handle that ties an agent's in-run upload to the reply it produces. - POST /api/upload-file accepts task_id: gated to the task's own agent, in this workspace, on a chat task; tags the row with task_id + chat_session_id. - CompleteTask (chat branch) binds the task's still-unclaimed attachments to the assistant message via BindChatAttachmentsToMessage (rejects rows already owned by an issue/comment/chat_message). An empty-output reply that produced files still creates a message so the images have an owner. FailTask binds nothing. CLI: - `multica attachment upload <path>` uploads a file for the current chat task (task from MULTICA_TASK_ID or --task) and prints id / markdown_url / a ready-to-paste markdown snippet. Prompt: - web/mobile chat prompt tells the agent how to attach a file to its reply. Mobile: - chat:done handler now always invalidates the messages list so attachments (absent from the event payload) refetch; mirrors web's self-heal. - chat bubbles render standalone attachment cards via the existing CommentAttachmentList (dedup vs inline references), matching web. Web/desktop needed no change — they already render message.attachments inline and via AttachmentList, and self-heal on chat:done. Tests: upload permission/isolation, bind-on-complete, empty-output+attachments, FailTask no-bind, null task_id untouched, already-owned not stolen, CLI output contract, mobile refetch-on-done. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(chat): address review blockers on chat reply attachments (MUL-4287) Two final-review blockers on PR #5164: 1. Mobile inline dedup only checked raw `url`, so an attachment referenced inline via `markdown_url` (exactly what the CLI snippet emits) rendered twice — once inline, once as a standalone card. Reuse the core `contentReferencesAttachment` helper so dedup covers every real reference form (stable /api/attachments/<id>/download path, url, download_url, markdown_url), matching web's AttachmentList. Extracted the filter into a pure `lib/attachment-dedup.ts` so it is unit-testable, and added a regression test covering `content` containing `attachment.markdown_url` (plus the other URL forms and same-identity sibling dedup). 2. CLI `attachment upload` emitted `![...]` image markdown for every file, producing a broken-image snippet for non-images. Emit image markdown only for image/* content types and a plain link otherwise, with a CLI contract test for both. Approved scope otherwise unchanged. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(chat): renumber attachment_task_id migration 150 -> 157 after main merge (MUL-4287) Merged latest main; main renumbered its migrations and now occupies 150-156, so 150_attachment_task_id collided with 150_agent_task_coalesced_comments and would fail TestMigrationNumericPrefixesStayUniqueAfterLegacySet. Renamed to the next unique prefix (157). No content change; migrate up applies cleanly. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(chat): render agent-produced files as attachment cards, not raw links The chat upload command handed the agent a bare `[name](url)` markdown snippet. Pasted mid-sentence it renders as a plain text link (not a card), and the referenced URL hides the auto-bound standalone attachment — so a file the agent produced could end up showing as nothing. Return the block-level `!file[name](url)` card syntax instead (images keep `` inline), and markdown-escape the filename so names with `[`/`]` don't truncate the label. The prompt and CLI help now state the file auto-attaches below the reply and the snippet is optional, only for placement. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(chat): soften message-list scroll fade (32px → 16px) The 32px edge fade washed out full-bleed content (HTML / image previews) at the list edges. Halve the fade distance so it barely grazes previews while still hinting at more content above/below. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(chat): renumber attachment_task_id migration 157 -> 158 main landed 157_agent_task_delivered_comments while this branch was open, colliding on prefix 157 and failing TestMigrationNumericPrefixesStayUniqueAfterLegacySet. Bump this PR's migration to the next free prefix (158). Rename only; the migration body (nullable attachment.task_id + partial index) is unchanged. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(chat): pin attachment upload to the token's task; build index concurrently Two code-review findings on the chat-attachment path (MUL-4287): - Isolation/privacy: POST /api/upload-file only checked the form task_id belonged to the caller's agent, not that it matched the task-scoped token's authoritative X-Task-ID. A run authorized for task A could tag an attachment onto task B (another chat task of the same agent, possibly another user's session), binding it into that reply on completion. Require the form task_id to equal the server-set X-Task-ID; add a same-agent/other-task 403 regression. - Migration: split the task_id lookup index into its own migration (159) built with CREATE INDEX CONCURRENTLY (repo convention) — it cannot share a multi-command file with the ADD COLUMN in 158. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(chat): enforce task-token source on attachment upload; drop transient task_id FK (MUL-4287) Addresses the two remaining Preflight BLOCKERs on PR #5164. Security (file.go): the task_id upload path compared the form task_id to X-Task-ID but did not require X-Actor-Source=task_token. A normal JWT/mul_ PAT leaves that header empty and the middleware does NOT strip a client-forged X-Task-ID; resolveActor's fallback accepts a valid X-Agent-ID+X-Task-ID pair. So a member who learned a task ID could forge both and inject an attachment onto another chat task's assistant reply (cross-session/privacy leak). Now the branch requires X-Actor-Source=task_token first (mirrors chat_history.go's load-bearing boundary), then pins to the middleware-injected X-Task-ID. Tests now go through the real task-token headers and add a forged-JWT-403 regression. Migration (158): task_id is a transient binding handle (written once at upload against an already-validated task, read only during that task's own completion; durable owner is chat_message_id). There is no app-layer path that hard-deletes agent_task_queue rows, and orphan uploads are already reaped by attachment.chat_session_id's ON DELETE CASCADE — so an FK here would only add a cascade dependency the app never relies on plus write overhead on the hot attachment table. Drop the FK; task_id is now a plain UUID column. Added a regression test that an unbound task-tagged upload is reaped on chat_session delete. Index (159, CONCURRENTLY) unchanged. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(mobile): align !file card preprocess with web parser + CLI escaped labels (MUL-4287) Howard final-review blocker: mobile's `!file[...]` preprocess didn't keep up with the CLI's file-card output, so agent-produced non-image files rendered nowhere on mobile. - `FILE_LINE_RE` used `[^\]]+` for the label, so the CLI's escaped-bracket output `!file[a\]b.pdf](url)` (cmd_attachment.go escapeMarkdownLabel) never matched — the line stayed literal AND `standaloneAttachments` still hid the fallback card (the URL is in `content`), so the file showed nowhere. - Align the matcher with web's `packages/ui/markdown/file-cards.ts`: label allows backslash-escaped metacharacters (ReDoS-safe class), and the URL is restricted to the same allowlist (site-relative /uploads + /api/attachments/ <UUID>/download, plus absolute http(s)); disallowed schemes stay plain text. - Unescape the label to the real filename, then re-escape only the chars that would break a markdown LINK label (mobile emits `[📎 name](url)`, re-parsed by the renderer — unlike web's HTML data-filename), so a raw `]` never truncates the link text. No dedup change: once the inline `!file` renders, hiding the standalone card is correct. Added focused unit tests covering the escaped-label case, parens/ backslash unescape, the site-relative URL form, and disallowed-scheme rejection. [MUL-4348] Route coalesced replies per root thread (#5202)
* feat(daemon): route coalesced replies per root thread (MUL-4348) When a busy agent coalesces multiple @mentions into one run, the run used a single --parent (the newest trigger), so questions raised in separate root threads were answered in one merged comment while the other threads were left unanswered. Group the trigger + coalesced comments by root thread server-side in the prompt builder (commentReplyThreads). When the run spans >=2 distinct threads, emit a per-thread reply plan (BuildMultiThreadCommentReplyInstructions) that instructs one reply per thread with the exact --parent, explicitly overriding the general 'one comment per run' rule. Multiple @mentions from the SAME thread collapse to a single group upstream, so same-thread follow-ups keep the ordinary single --parent=trigger path and can never be split into duplicate replies. Single-thread / non-coalesced runs are unchanged. Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(daemon): sync workflow-brief reply step with per-thread fan-out (MUL-4348) Review of #5202 found the cross-thread fan-out was injected only into the per-turn prompt (buildCommentPrompt), while the persistent workflow brief (writeWorkflowComment step 7) still emitted the single --parent=trigger cookbook for every comment task. A cross-thread run therefore got two slightly conflicting reply instructions, so the fan-out guarantee rested on prompt wording/precedence rather than structure. Carry the computed thread targets on TaskContextForEnv.CommentReplyTargets (populated from the same commentReplyThreads() the prompt uses, so the two surfaces cannot drift). When >=2 targets, the workflow reply step now emits the per-thread fan-out plan too; same-thread follow-ups collapse to a single group upstream and keep the single-parent cookbook, so they still can never be split. Also clarified the multi-thread cookbook to show a distinct file per reply (reply-1.md / reply-2.md). Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(daemon): reply under the specific mentioning comment per thread (MUL-4348 review nit #1) Non-trigger threads previously replied under the thread root, while the trigger's thread replied under the trigger comment — asymmetric, and it put the answer at the top of the thread instead of next to the actual question when the mention was a mid-thread reply. Reply under the NEWEST triggering comment in each thread instead (inputs are chronological, so last-write-wins per thread), making every thread consistent and nesting each answer beside its question. fix(cli): reject --description-file/--content-file paths outside the workdir (MUL-4252) (#5167)
* fix(cli): reject --description-file/--content-file paths outside the workdir (MUL-4252) Cross-environment context leak root cause: a quick-create run wrote its issue description to a fixed, machine-shared /tmp/desc.md. The Write silently failed because a different environment's run had left a stale file there, and `multica issue create --description-file /tmp/desc.md` fed that stale content in as the new issue's description. Two profiles on one host share /tmp even though their workdirs are isolated. PR-1 (fail-closed guardrail + guidance): - resolveTextFlag now rejects a --<name>-file path that resolves (after EvalSymlinks on both sides) outside the current working directory, turning "silently used another run's file" into a loud command error. Escape hatch: --allow-external-file. Covers issue create/update --description-file, comment add --content-file, and user profile --description-file via the single choke point. - Templates/brief: the quick-create prompt and the runtime brief now require agent temp files to live inside the task workdir (never /tmp), and to treat a failed write as fatal. Server, daemon, DB, and claim delivery were exonerated in the investigation; the fix stays in the CLI and the prompt layer. Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(daemon): quick-create description guidance mandates --description-file for rich text Addresses PR review (MUL-4252): the earlier "prefer inline --description" line conflicted with the runtime brief (which prefers --description-file for long bodies) and reintroduced the MUL-2904 risk — quick-create descriptions are usually multi-line and carry code/quotes/backticks/$(), which the shell rewrites or truncates when passed inline. Now: only short, simple single-line bodies may go inline; anything multi-line or containing special characters must be written to ./description.md and passed via --description-file. Write-failure-is-fatal and workdir-only rules unchanged. fix(comments): guarantee at-least-once processing of user comments (MUL-4195) (#5068)
* fix(comments): guarantee at-least-once processing of user comments (MUL-4195) Consecutive comments on an issue were silently dropped: a new comment that arrived while the agent already had a queued/dispatched task was discarded by the HasPendingTaskForIssueAndAgent dedup, losing the user's follow-up instruction with no visible trace. Comments — unlike chat — are deliberate, addressed, persisted input and must never vanish. This makes comment handling at-least-once while keeping concurrency bounded to one run per (issue, agent): - Merge, don't drop (PR1): a comment landing while a not-yet-started task exists is folded into that task — the prior trigger becomes a coalesced comment and the new one becomes the trigger, so a single run still covers every deliberate comment. Falls back to a fresh enqueue if the pending task was claimed mid-flight, so nothing is lost in the race. - Completion reconciliation (PR2): on task completion, a member comment newer than the run's started_at schedules exactly one follow-up via the normal trigger pipeline. Loop-safe: member-authored only, capped by the existing per-(issue,agent) dedup, and terminating. - Visibility (PR3): coalesced_comment_ids is surfaced on the task API and in the run prompt so the covered comments are explicit. Migration 145 adds agent_task_queue.coalesced_comment_ids UUID[]. Tests: merge-not-drop preserves all three of a rapid burst and repoints the trigger to the newest; reconciliation query gates on member/since; e2e CompleteTask enqueues a follow-up for a mid-run member comment and does not for none. Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(comments): address review — originator gate, agent-scoped reconcile, cross-thread coalesced prompt (MUL-4195) Resolves GPT-Boy's Request-changes review on PR #5068. Must-fix #1 — merge no longer inherits a stale originator/runtime context. MergeCommentIntoPendingTask now only folds a comment into a pending task whose originator_user_id IS NOT DISTINCT FROM the new comment's originator. runtime_mcp_overlay / runtime_connected_apps are a pure function of (originator, agent) and the agent is fixed, so a matching originator keeps the stored overlay/attribution valid; a differing originator (e.g. user B commenting on a task originated by user A) matches no row and the caller enqueues a fresh follow-up with B's own context instead of reusing A's. trigger_summary is refreshed to the new trigger comment. Must-fix #2 — completion reconcile no longer re-wakes unrelated agents. reconcileCommentsOnCompletion computes the latest member comment's triggers and keeps ONLY the agent that just completed, instead of fanning the comment out through the full pipeline. An @-mention of agent B during agent A's run is triggered once at creation time and is no longer replayed (double-run) when A completes. Should-fix #3 — coalesced-comment prompt no longer assumes a single thread. The claim response now carries each folded comment's thread id / author / created_at / content (CoalescedCommentData); the prompt embeds them directly so the agent addresses cross-thread folded comments without the wrong "they are in the triggering thread" hint. Old servers that ship only ids fall back to an issue-wide fetch, still without the same-thread assumption. Tests: TestMergeCommentIntoPendingTask_OriginatorGate (query gate), TestCompleteTask_DoesNotReTriggerOtherAgentMentionedDuringRun (reconcile scoping), TestBuildCommentPromptCoalescedCrossThread / IDsOnlyFallback (prompt). Existing MUL-4195 suites still pass. Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(comments): close unique-index drop + dispatched-window race in comment coalescing (MUL-4195) Second-round review follow-up on PR #5068. Must-fix #1 — originator-mismatch no longer drops the comment. The previous originator gate returned ErrNoRows on a different originator and the caller fell through to a fresh enqueue, which collided with the idx_one_pending_task_per_issue_agent unique index (one queued/dispatched task per (issue, agent)) — silently dropping the second user's comment. Replaced the gate with recompute-on-merge: MergeCommentIntoPendingTask now re-stamps originator_user_id, runtime_mcp_overlay, runtime_connected_apps and trigger_summary to the new comment's originator. A different member's comment folds into the single coalescing run carrying the latest instruction's own identity/overlay (no cross-user capability bleed, no drop, no collision). Must-fix #2 — comment arriving in the claim→StartTask window is no longer lost. Merge now targets only PRE-CLAIM states ('queued','deferred'); a dispatched/running task is never a merge target, so a post-claim comment is never falsely stamped into coalesced_comment_ids as "delivered". Completion reconcile is re-anchored on dispatched_at (the moment the claim response is built) instead of started_at, and sweeps ALL undelivered member comments since that anchor — replaying each through the normal enqueue path so they coalesce into one bounded, agent-scoped follow-up run. This covers the dispatch→start window a started_at anchor missed. Enqueue path: on a merge miss the caller no longer blindly fresh-enqueues (which could collide with a dispatched sibling); it defers to the active task's completion reconcile via HasActiveTaskForIssueAndAgent, and only fresh-enqueues when no active task exists. Tests: rewrote the query test to TestMergeCommentIntoPendingTask_RecomputesOriginatorAndSkipsDispatched; added TestConsecutiveCommentsDifferentOriginatorsFullEnqueuePath (full handler enqueue path, two distinct originators) and TestCompleteTask_ReconcilesDispatchedWindowComment (claim→start window). All existing MUL-4195 handler/cmd-server/daemon/service suites still pass. Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(comments): catch pre-dispatch merge-race comment in completion reconcile (MUL-4195) Third-round review follow-up on PR #5068. Race: a member comment is created while the task is still queued, but its merge loses the race to the daemon claiming the task (queued→dispatched). The merge then finds no pre-claim row (ErrNoRows), the enqueue path defers to reconcile — but the comment's created_at is BEFORE dispatched_at, so the dispatched_at-anchored reconcile skipped it and the comment vanished with no task coverage. Fix: anchor completion reconcile on the task's created_at (which always precedes dispatch) instead of a dispatch/start timestamp, and exclude the run's DELIVERED SET — trigger_comment_id ∪ coalesced_comment_ids. Because merges only ever touch pre-claim rows, that set is exactly what the claim response carried, so any member comment created since the task was made that is NOT in it was genuinely undelivered and earns a bounded follow-up. This catches the pre-dispatch merge-race comment and the dispatch→start comment, while never re-firing a comment that was delivered as a pre-claim coalesced entry. Test: TestCompleteTask_ReconcilesPreDispatchMergeRaceComment reproduces the race (comment created pre-dispatch, task dispatched before merge, plus a delivered coalesced comment) and asserts exactly one follow-up, triggered by the race comment, with the delivered coalesced comment excluded. Existing reconcile fixtures updated to set a realistic created_at (the production invariant that created_at is the earliest task timestamp). Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(comments): merge only into the queued task, never a deferred fallback (MUL-4195) Fourth-round review follow-up on PR #5068. MergeCommentIntoPendingTask targeted status IN ('queued','deferred') ordered by created_at DESC. When a (issue, agent) pair had both an older queued task (the run about to be claimed) and a newer deferred assignee-fallback task, a new comment merged into the deferred row instead of the queued one — so the comment missed the imminent run and the deferred fallback could later promote into a duplicate/conflicting run. This merge is only ever reached when HasPendingTaskForIssueAndAgent matched a queued/dispatched task (it never inspects deferred), so the coalescing target must be the queued row. Restricted the merge target to status = 'queued' (the unique index guarantees at most one). Deferred fallbacks keep their own fire_at/promotion escalation lifecycle and are never a merge target. Test: TestMergeCommentIntoPendingTask_TargetsQueuedNotDeferred seeds an older queued task + a newer deferred fallback for the same (issue, agent), merges a new comment, and asserts it lands on the queued task (trigger repointed, old trigger coalesced) while the deferred fallback is left untouched. feat(chat): Chat V2 — first-class IM-style Chat tab (MUL-4171) (#5076)
* feat(chat): Chat V2 — first-class IM-style Chat tab (MUL-4171) Replace the floating chat FAB/window with a first-class Chat tab under Inbox, laid out as an IM-style two-pane surface (thread list + conversation). Highlights: - New Chat page (packages/views/chat/chat-page.tsx) with URL-addressable session selection; web + desktop routing wired up. Removes the old chat-fab / chat-window / resize-handles / context-items paths. - IM thread list: agent avatar + last-message preview + IM timestamp, red unread *count* badge (read-cursor model), presence-gated typing vs waiting. Rename lives only in the conversation header ⋯ menu (not the list hover). - Per-session conversation header (rename / view agent / delete), agent-aware empty state (avatar + name + description + starter prompts), and a deterministic clean-title derivation from the first message. - Server: read-cursor unread model (migration 145) and per-user pinned agents (migration 146, dedicated chat_pinned_agent table + handler/queries). New-agent welcome chat auto-enqueues a real agent run (LLM intro, no static template). - Design: fade the global --border token; borderless list headers on Chat/Inbox, kept (faded) on the conversation header. Verified: pnpm typecheck (all packages), go build ./..., go vet, gofmt. Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * feat(chat): make new-agent welcome read as an agent-initiated intro (MUL-4230) The "meet your new agent" chat used to insert a fake user message ("👋 Hi! Please introduce yourself …") and have the agent reply to it, so the thread looked like the creator prompting the agent. Drop the persisted user message. Flag the auto-created session is_agent_intro (migration 147) and drive the intro run server-side: the daemon builds a proactive self-introduction prompt for such sessions (buildChatPrompt) instead of a "reply to their message" prompt. The intro stays LLM-generated; the thread now opens with the agent's own message, as if it reached out first. - migration 147: chat_session.is_agent_intro - CreateChatSession carries the flag; sendAgentWelcomeChat no longer persists/publishes a user message - daemon: ChatIntro threaded from session flag → intro prompt Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * feat(chat): Settings toggle for the floating chat window (MUL-4235) (#5080) * feat(chat): Settings toggle for the floating chat window (MUL-4235) Re-introduce the floating chat overlay on top of Chat V2 as an optional, Settings-gated surface instead of deleting it outright. - Settings → Preferences → Chat: a switch (floatingChatEnabled, persisted client preference, default ON) to show/hide the floating window. - FloatingChat wrapper owns the two gates: the preference, and the /chat route (hidden on the tab so the same activeSessionId isn't shown twice). - ChatFab + a compact ChatWindow that reuse the shared useChatController and conversation components, so activeSessionId stays in lockstep with the tab. - Restore use-chat-context-items so the overlay's @ surfaces the current issue/project (the 'current context' affordance) — the tab stays manual. - i18n (en/zh-Hans/ja/ko), store unit tests. typecheck: core/views/web/desktop green. tests: chat store 9, settings 82, chat 39 pass. Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * feat(chat): dedicated Chat settings tab, floating window opt-in (MUL-4235) Address review: give Chat its own Settings tab instead of a section inside Preferences, and default the floating window OFF (opt-in). - New Settings → Chat tab (chat-tab.tsx) under My Account; moves the floating-window toggle out of the Preferences tab. - floatingChatEnabled now defaults OFF — only an explicit enable from the Chat tab mounts the FAB/overlay. - i18n: page.tabs.chat + a top-level chat block (en/zh-Hans/ja/ko); revert the Preferences chat section and its test mock; store tests updated for the opt-in default. Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> --------- Co-authored-by: Lambda <lambda@multica.ai> Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * refactor(chat): drop starter prompts from chat empty state (MUL-4237) (#5081) The three starter prompts (List my open tasks by priority / Summarize what I did today / Plan what to work on next) read as filler more than help, so remove them along with the now-unused returning_subtitle ("Try asking"). The empty state keeps its agent-aware header — avatar + "Chat with {name}" + optional description — and the composer stays the entry point. Locale keys dropped across en/zh-Hans/ja/ko (parity preserved). Based on the Chat V2 branch (parent MUL-4171, #5076), not main. Co-authored-by: Lambda <lambda@multica.ai> * feat(chat): pin a chat to the top of the Chat list (MUL-4240) (#5082) Builds on Chat V2 (#5076). Adds a per-conversation pin so a user can keep important chats at the top of the IM-style thread list, above the activity-sorted rest. Backend: - migration 148: chat_session.pinned_at (nullable) + partial index; the timestamp doubles as the pinned-group sort key and the boolean flag. - list queries order pinned-first, then by most-recent activity. - SetChatSessionPinned query + PATCH /api/chat/sessions/{id}/pin handler; pinning never bumps updated_at, so an unpinned chat won't jump the list. - ChatSessionResponse.pinned + chat:session_updated carries the new state. Frontend: - ChatSession.pinned; setChatSessionPinned API + useSetChatSessionPinned with optimistic re-sort; shared sortChatSessions comparator. - thread list: pin indicator on pinned rows + pin/unpin hover action; list sorted pinned-first so it stays ordered after cache patches. - realtime patch re-sorts on pin change; en/ja/ko/zh-Hans strings. Tests: SetChatSessionPinned handler test, sortChatSessions unit tests. * feat(chat): round send button, move file upload into a + menu (MUL-4250) (#5088) Co-authored-by: Lambda <lambda@multica.ai> Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(inbox): match chat list selected-item style (inset padding + rounded) (#5093) Wrap the inbox list in p-1 and give each row rounded-md/px-3 so the selected bg-accent reads as an inset rounded card — same treatment the chat thread list already uses — instead of a full-bleed, sharp-cornered highlight. Content stays 16px-inset (p-1 + px-3 == old px-4). MUL-4253 Co-authored-by: Lambda <lambda@multica.ai> Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(chat): rename + menu upload item to "Image or files" (MUL-4250) (#5092) Co-authored-by: Lambda <lambda@multica.ai> Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(chat): stop welcome intro session repeating the same introduction (MUL-4259) The is_agent_intro flag on chat_session is persistent, so every follow-up turn on a welcome session re-selected the self-introduction prompt in buildChatPrompt and the agent kept replying with the same intro instead of answering the user. Gate resp.ChatIntro at claim time on the session still having zero human (role='user') messages via a new ChatSessionHasUserMessage query: the first, message-less server-driven turn introduces the agent; once the creator replies, later turns fall back to the normal reply prompt. Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(chat): address review findings + unbreak CI (MUL-4171) - task:failed now refreshes the sessions list (invalidateSessionLists), so the thread-list preview / unread / sort stays correct after an agent failure — FailTask persists a failure chat_message but only broadcasts task:failed, mirroring the chat:done success path. - Self-heal stale chat deep links: once the sessions list has loaded and a ?session= id isn't in it (deleted / no access / never existed) with nothing in flight, clear the selection instead of rendering an editable empty chat that would POST into a nonexistent session. Freshly-created sessions are exempt (they carry optimistic messages + a pending task). - CI: add the new parameterless `chat` route to link-handler's WORKSPACE_ROUTE_SEGMENTS and to paths/consistency.test.ts (route set + expectedSegments) — keeps the two in sync, fixes the failing @multica/core test. - Fix a MUL-4235/MUL-4237 merge collision that broke @multica/views typecheck: chat-window.tsx still passed the removed `onPickPrompt` prop to EmptyState. Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(chat): self-heal dangling session in shared controller, not just ChatPage (MUL-4171) Re-review follow-up: the stale-session self-heal only lived in ChatPage, so the floating ChatWindow still entered from a persisted activeSessionId and would render an editable empty chat (then POST into a nonexistent session) when the selected session was deleted / lost access off the /chat route. - Move the self-heal into the shared useChatController so every surface (tab and floating window) drops a dangling activeSessionId once the sessions list has loaded and doesn't contain it. - Harden ensureSession: trust the current id only when it's in the loaded list or is a just-created session still awaiting the refetch; a dangling id falls through to create a fresh session instead of POSTing into a 404. - Exempt just-created sessions via an OPTIMISTIC-write signal (hasOptimisticInFlight: pending task or optimistic- message), not hasMessages — a session deleted elsewhere with real cached history stays eligible for self-heal. Add a unit test for the discriminator. Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * test(views): fix app-sidebar useWorkspacePaths mock for the new chat nav (MUL-4171) The AppSidebar personal nav gained a `chat` item, so it calls `useWorkspacePaths().chat()` at render. The app-sidebar.test.tsx mock hadn't been updated, so `p.chat` was undefined and every render threw `TypeError: p[item.key] is not a function`, failing @multica/views#test in CI. - Add `chat: () => "/acme/chat"` to the mocked useWorkspacePaths. - Route the chat-sessions query key through a mutable `chatSessions` fixture. - Add coverage for the Chat nav: renders the link, badges the summed unread_count, and hides the badge when all sessions are read — so this drift is caught next time. Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(chat): use the original floating window, not the rewritten one (MUL-4235) (#5102) Follow-up to the merged #5080, which shipped a hand-written, simplified ChatWindow and lost the original's animations / drag-resize / expand-minimize. The floating window is just a quick entry point — it should be the original UI, not a rewrite. - Restore chat-window.tsx, chat-fab.tsx, chat-resize-handles.tsx and use-chat-resize.ts verbatim from main (0-diff): motion animations, drag resize, expand/minimize and the session dropdown are back. - Restore the empty_state.returning_subtitle + starter_prompts i18n keys the original window renders (V2 had dropped them); drop the now-unused window.open_full_tooltip key the rewrite added. - Settings gating is unchanged: FloatingChat still wraps the original FAB + window, gated by floatingChatEnabled (default off) and hidden on /chat. typecheck: core/views/web/desktop green. tests: chat + settings views 126 pass. Co-authored-by: Lambda <lambda@multica.ai> Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * feat(chat): archive chats from the list, delete only from Archived (MUL-4263) (#5098) Restore an archive flow as the reversible sibling of delete: - Chat list hover now offers Archive (not Delete); pin/stop unchanged. - A footer entry ('Archived · N') opens an Archived view listing archived chats; hard delete lives only there (hover -> unarchive + delete, with the existing inline confirm). - Conversation header ⋯ menu mirrors this: active chats archive, archived chats unarchive/delete. Backend: PATCH /api/chat/sessions/{id}/archive flips status active<->archived (SetChatSessionArchived), broadcasts status on chat:session_updated so other tabs re-sort into the right list. SendChatMessage already refuses archived sessions, so archived chats stay read-only until unarchived. Co-authored-by: Lambda <lambda@multica.ai> Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * feat(chat): handle archived agents in Chat V2 list & conversation (MUL-4265) (#5100) * feat(chat): handle archived agents in Chat V2 list & conversation (MUL-4265) Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * refactor(chat): drop chat-list archive marker, keep conversation read-only (MUL-4265) Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * feat(chat): apply archived-agent read-only to the floating chat window (MUL-4265) Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> --------- Co-authored-by: Lambda <lambda@multica.ai> Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(chat): address floating-window + archived-agent review blockers (MUL-4171) Re-review follow-up on the restored floating ChatWindow + archive flow: 1. Floating stale-session self-heal. The restored ChatWindow doesn't use the shared controller, so its ensureSession trusted any non-empty activeSessionId and there was no dangling-session cleanup — a deleted / no-access persisted session could send into a nonexistent session. Ported the same guard used for the tab: a self-heal effect that clears a dangling activeSessionId once the sessions list has loaded, and ensureSession only trusts an id that's in the list or has an in-flight optimistic write (hasOptimisticInFlight, reused from use-chat-controller). handleSend seeds the optimistic message + pending task before setActiveSession, so a freshly-created session is never mis-cleared. 2. Floating dropdown bypassed archive-first safety. Its active rows offered a hard-delete, letting the floating window destroy active chats and skip the "archive first, delete only from Archived" model. Active rows now ARCHIVE (reversible, one-click) like ChatThreadList; the floating window offers no hard-delete — unarchive/delete live only in the full Chat page's Archived view (reachable via expand). Removed the now-dead delete-confirm machinery. 3. Orphan user message on archived-agent send. SendChatMessage created the chat_message before EnqueueChatTask, which rejects an archived / runtime-less agent — a stale client would land a user message then get a 500, orphaning it. Added a preflight that checks the session agent's archived / runtime state and returns 409 before any mutation, plus a handler test asserting the send is rejected with no message persisted. fix(slack): stop the chat agent narrating its history reads (MUL-3871) (#4776)
Every Slack reply was prefixed with process narration like '我先读取 Slack 频道概览, 再打开相关线程…' before the actual answer — the model announcing the history reads the channel-awareness prompt tells it to do. That narration is internal context-gathering, not part of the answer. Add an instruction to the channel-awareness block: do the reads silently and reply with the answer only, no preamble about what it is about to read or just read. feat(slack): two-command channel reads — chat history (overview) + chat thread [id] (MUL-3871) (#4762)
Replaces the single scoped `multica chat history --scope` read with two clean noun-commands so the agent can navigate a channel with many threads (e.g. read the specific thread a user referred to): - `multica chat history` — the channel OVERVIEW: recent top-level messages, each thread tagged with thread_id + reply_count + latest_reply (it does NOT expand thread contents). Backed by GET /api/chat/history + slack.History.ChannelOverview (conversations.history). - `multica chat thread [id]` — read one thread: no id = the thread you're in, an id = a specific thread IN THE SAME channel. Backed by GET /api/chat/thread + slack.History.Thread (conversations.replies; DM falls back to history). The channel stays server-pinned to the session; a thread id is only a within-channel locator, so the security boundary (no cross-channel reads) is unchanged. `--scope` is removed. The prompt now teaches both commands and, via a new chat_in_thread signal (derived from the binding: last_thread_id != last_message_id), tells the agent which to start with — `chat history` for a top-level @mention, `chat thread` for an in-thread one. Tests: slack ChannelOverview/Thread (current/by-id/DM-fallback/no-binding/clamp), handler both endpoints + auth, prompt top-level vs in-thread guidance. feat(slack): make the chat agent explicitly channel-aware (MUL-3871) (#4755)
Before this, the chat prompt only carried a generic, always-on hint ('if this
came from a chat channel...'), and the task carried no channel signal — so the
agent never definitively knew it was inside Slack. For an ambiguous ask like
'what did you just talk about', it could read Multica instead of the Slack
conversation.
- Thread a chat_channel_type ('slack') signal: the server sets it on the chat
task response when the session has a Slack binding
(GetChannelChatSessionBindingBySession); the daemon Task carries it.
- buildChatPrompt now emits an EXPLICIT block only when channel-backed: 'You are
operating inside a Slack conversation … this conversation and its history live
in Slack, NOT in Multica … read it with multica chat history, do NOT look in
Multica.' Web-only chat sessions get no such block (their history is the
Multica chat_session the agent already resumes).
Tests: slack-backed prompt asserts the explicit Slack/“NOT in Multica”/command
copy; web-only prompt asserts the block is absent.

feat(slack): unified multica chat history pull for channel backfill (MUL-3871) (#4747)
* feat(slack): add unified `multica chat history` pull for channel backfill (MUL-3871) Agents @mentioned in a Slack thread/channel only saw the triggering message, never the prior conversation (GitHub #4717). Instead of force-assembling a recent-context block on every inbound (the Feishu approach), expose a single channel-agnostic pull command the agent runs on demand. - channel: normalized HistoryMessage/HistoryPage/HistoryOptions vocab so the agent sees one shape regardless of platform. - slack.History: resolves session -> binding -> installation -> bot token and reads conversations.replies (real thread) or conversations.history (DM / top-level channel, capturing sibling messages). thread_ts is recorded on the binding config at session creation to pick the right call. - handler GET /api/chat/history: authorized purely by the task-scoped token (stamped X-Task-ID -> the task's own chat session), so an agent can only read the conversation it is currently running for. - multica chat history CLI command (no args; same for every channel). - buildChatPrompt nudge so the agent discovers the command. Feishu is intentionally untouched. Adding a platform = implement the reader. Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(slack): require task-token actor source on chat history endpoint Niko's review caught a privilege-boundary hole: the endpoint trusted X-Task-ID, but it is mounted under the general Auth group where a normal JWT / mul_ PAT request does NOT strip a client-forged X-Task-ID — only the mat_ task-token branch stamps it. A workspace member who knew a chat task id could forge the header and read that task's Slack channel/DM/thread history. Gate on the server-set X-Actor-Source == "task_token" (the Auth middleware deletes any client-supplied value and re-stamps it only on the mat_ branch), then trust X-Task-ID. Adds a regression test: a forged X-Task-ID without the task-token actor source is rejected with 403 and never reaches the reader. Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(slack): thread-first history for follow-ups, channel for first turn (MUL-3871) A Slack conversation has two nested histories: the surrounding channel and the agent's own thread (the bot's first reply opens a thread on the @mention). The first version picked replies-vs-history from a thread_ts fixed at session creation, so a session started by a top-level @mention always read CHANNEL history — even on follow-ups inside the bot's thread, which should read THREAD history first. - Add a HistoryScope (auto|thread|channel). The handler resolves auto: first turn (no prior bot reply) -> channel; follow-up -> thread. The agent can override with --scope channel|thread, and the response reports the scope read. - The thread root is derived from the binding (last_thread_id / composite-key suffix), available for every engaged group session, instead of the creation-time thread_ts (now removed from the binding config). - A DM degrades a thread request to channel history (DMs have no threads). - Prompt guidance + CLI help updated to explain the policy. Tests: scope selection (thread/channel/DM-fallback/no-root), root derivation, and handler auto-resolution (first->channel, follow-up->thread, explicit override). feat(comments): resolve-aware fold for agent comment reads (MUL-3555) (#4463)
* feat(comments): resolve-aware fold for agent comment reads (MUL-3555) Agents reading a long issue paid tokens for settled discussion. The human timeline already folds resolved threads, but the agent read path (`comment list`) ignored resolved_at entirely — humans saw the conclusion, agents got the full raw discussion. Add an opt-in `fold=true` projection to ListComments that collapses each resolved thread to root + conclusion (reply-resolved) or root only (root-resolved), reusing the human timeline's deriveThreadResolution semantics. The resolved thread's root carries `thread_resolved` + `folded_count`; `--full` brings the dropped comments back. Fold is rejected on partial-thread reads (since/tail) and roots_only, where a resolution comment could be unfetched and silently dropped. CLI `comment list` folds by default on the complete-thread reads (default, --recent, untailed --thread) with a `--full` escape hatch; the agent prompts and runtime brief document the fold + escape. No new endpoint, no human UI change, no SQL/migration change — in-memory projection, same precedent as summary/roots_only. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * refactor(daemon): dedupe fold prompt restatements per review (MUL-3555) Howard's PR review flagged DRY redundancy: the resolve-fold rule was restated in full in the task prompt (prompt.go:41/:182) and the brief workflow steps (runtime_config.go:673/:692, reply_instructions cold hint) even though the canonical command catalog (runtime_config.go:477) — always present in the brief — already documents it in full, and the task prompt explicitly defers to it ("follow the rule in your runtime workflow file"). Keep the catalog entry full (the canonical reference); shrink the five inline restatements to a short "resolved threads come back folded — `--full` to expand" pointer. No loss of signal (the agent always has the full catalog in context), ~80-120 tokens/run saved on the worst-case assignment / cold paths. MUL-3416: Issue pre-trigger preview + Handoff Note (#4383)
* feat(issues): unify run-enqueue decision behind WillEnqueueRun + preview endpoint Collapse the issue update/batch enqueue copies into one service predicate service.IssueService.WillEnqueueRun, shared verbatim with a new dry-run endpoint POST /api/issues/preview-trigger so the four entry points stop drifting (squad/self-loop/batch omissions, MUL-3375). The private-agent gate stays at the HTTP boundary: write paths inject allow-all, preview injects the real gate so it never leaks a private agent's readiness. Add suppress_run to issue update/batch: the change applies but no run starts. Remove the now-dead handler mirrors shouldEnqueueSquadLeaderOnAssign / isSquadLeaderReady. service.Create and the comment trigger chain are untouched. Tests: preview behavior, preview<->write-path match, batch aggregation, member no-trigger, suppress_run skip, malformed-body 400. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * feat(issues): inject handoff note into assigned runs via first-class task field Add an optional handoff_note carried by issue assign/promote into the run's opening prompt and issue_context.md, via a dedicated agent_task_queue column (migration 122) and a daemon assignment-handoff render branch — never a fabricated comment, never trigger_comment_id (MUL-3375 §6.1). Thread the note through enqueueIssueTask/enqueueMentionTask + WithHandoff public variants and dispatchIssueRun; suppress_run or a parked write drops it (no run = nothing to inject). Soft version gate: MinHandoffCLIVersion + HandoffSupported, surfaced per-trigger as handoff_supported in the preview so the UI can gray the note box on old daemons; the assignment never hard-fails. Tests: daemon prompt + issue_context render via the assignment branch (not quick-create/comment), version helper matrix, note persists on the task, suppressed assign enqueues nothing. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * feat(issues): leave a display-only handoff record on the timeline When an assign/promote with a handoff note starts a run, write one type='handoff' timeline record via TaskService.RecordHandoff — a direct Queries.CreateComment + timeline event that bypasses Handler.CreateComment, so it never reaches triggerTasksForComment and cannot start a second run (MUL-3375 §6.2, the must-not-retrigger invariant). Author is the actor who handed off; body is the note. Migration 123 admits the 'handoff' comment type. Recorded only on a real run start: suppress_run or a parked write writes nothing. enqueueSquadLeaderTask now reports whether it enqueued so the trace is gated on an actual dispatch. Test: exactly one handoff record on assign-with-note, exactly one task (no re-trigger), and no record when suppressed. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * feat(issues): frontend plumbing for issue-trigger preview + handoff (core) Add api.previewIssueTrigger + IssueTriggerPreviewSchema (zod parseWithFallback), the use-issue-trigger-preview hook, issueKeys.issueTriggerPreview(+All) with WS queue-state invalidation, suppress_run/handoff_note on UpdateIssueRequest, the 'handoff' CommentType, and stripping of the control fields from optimistic update/batch cache patches (MUL-3375 §9). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(issues): exclude handoff records from new-comment counting type='handoff' is a display-only timeline record, not conversation. Exclude it from CountNewCommentsSince so a handoff note never inflates the count of "new comments to catch up on" fed to a claiming agent (MUL-3375 §12). Analytics already excludes it (RecordHandoff is a direct write that emits no analytics event), and the comment-trigger path is already bypassed. Test: a handoff record does not bump the new-comment count; a real comment does. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * feat(issues): pre-trigger preview UI, handoff note, timeline card (web/desktop) Wire the §9 frontend onto the preview endpoint + handoff fields: - Delete the backlog blocking dialog (backlog-agent-hint*) and its modal type; the over-eager nag is gone. Backlog awareness is now a passive label. - RunConfirmModal: single assign + batch assign/status route here. Shows the backend predicate's verdict ("将启动 @X" / "将启动 N 个" / parked), an optional handoff note (assign only, soft-gated by handoff_supported), and 暂不启动 — then applies via update/batch. No frontend guessing. - create modal: passive CreateRunHint ("将启动 @X" / backlog parked). - single status change stays a direct apply (unchanged). - timeline: render type='handoff' as a distinct, non-interactive handoff card. - i18n run_confirm + handoff_card across en/ja/ko/zh-Hans; drop backlog action keys; locale parity green. Tests: use-issue-actions (assign → run-confirm modal, member → direct), create-issue + comment-card suites updated/green; views typecheck + lint clean. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * test(issues): use a valid anchor in the handoff count-exclusion test CountNewCommentsSince filters id <> @anchor_id; SQL id <> NULL is NULL and excludes every row, so an empty anchor made the control assertion read 0. The production caller always passes a real anchor — mirror that with a non-matching sentinel uuid. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * test(issues): RunConfirmModal apply logic (start/suppress/note-gate/batch) Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * test(core): preview schema malformed/missing/null fallback coverage Cover IssueTriggerPreviewSchema via parseWithFallback (MUL-3375): well-formed parse, top-level + item default fills (empty/older backend), and fallback to { triggers: [], total_count: 0 } for malformed shapes, a dropped required issue_id, a wrong-typed total_count, and null/non-object bodies — so the four entry points degrade to "nothing will start" instead of throwing. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * refactor(issues): remove display-only handoff timeline record (留痕) The handoff "留痕" timeline record (type='handoff' comment written on run start) was judged superfluous and dropped per product call. This removes only the display-only trace; the handoff NOTE injection into the run's opening prompt + issue_context.md is untouched. - backend: drop RecordHandoff + its call in dispatchIssueRun - db: drop the `type <> 'handoff'` exclusion in CountNewCommentsSince and migration 123 (comment_type_check reverts to the 4-type set from 001); no production data exists for this unreleased feature - frontend: drop the "handoff" CommentType, HandoffCard, and handoff_card i18n (all locales) - tests: drop handoff_count_test.go and the record-write assertions in issue_trigger_preview_test.go (note-injection tests retained) Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * feat(issues): dismissable run-confirm modal + team-handoff copy Two fixes to the pre-trigger confirm modal (MUL-3375). 1. Dismissable: switch RunConfirmModal from AlertDialog to the standard shadcn Dialog so it has the close (X) button + Esc + click-outside. Previously the only choices were "start" / "don't start now" with no way to abort the action entirely; dismissing now cancels with no write. 2. Copy: rework the action-surface wording away from the backend term "run" toward team-handoff voice — 指派 / 开始 / 交接 (run stays only on record surfaces). Unifies the note's three names to "交接说明", and parallels the rewrite across en/ja/ko. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * chore(agent): bump handoff note min CLI version to 0.3.28 The daemon release that renders handoff notes ships in 0.3.28 (0.3.27 was the prior tag), so move the soft-gate threshold up. Below this the note is silently dropped and the frontend grays the note box — assignment is never blocked. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(issues): skip run-confirm when batch-moving issues to backlog A move into backlog never starts a run (service/issue_trigger.go), so the pre-trigger confirm modal degenerated to an empty "won't start" box with a single Apply button — pure friction. Apply directly instead, matching the single-issue status path. Other target statuses still route through the modal. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(issues): refine pre-trigger preview hint and copy - Move the create-issue run hint to a reveal band (grid 0fr→1fr) above the property toolbar. It was sharing the footer button row and, lacking a width constraint, reflowed the submit buttons whenever it appeared. Restyle to a borderless, comment-style avatar+caption that is purely a caption (non-interactive avatar). - Distinguish squad from agent in the pre-trigger copy: a squad's leader evaluates and delegates rather than "starting work" itself. Add will_start_named_squad / will_start_squad / create_will_start_squad across en/zh/ja/ko (reusing the squad_leader_* evaluate→arrange vocabulary) and branch run-confirm + the create hint on squad assignees. - Bold the assignee name in the run-confirm headline via a language-safe sentinel split (no per-language prefix/suffix keys). - Align zh "开始处理" → "开始工作" on the single-assign copy. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * test(issues): stub ActorAvatar in create-issue suite CreateRunHint now renders an ActorAvatar for agent/squad assignees, which pulls in getActorInitials/getActorAvatarUrl + the workspace/presence/navigation hook tree. This form-focused suite only stubbed getActorName, so the squad-forwarding test crashed with "getActorInitials is not a function". Stub the avatar inert — its own behavior is covered elsewhere. MUL-3316: fix(execenv): switch agent prompt to --content-file to prevent heredoc flag swallowing (#4182) (#4191)
* fix(execenv): switch agent prompt to --content-file to prevent heredoc flag swallowing (#4182) The Linux/macOS reply template recommended --content-stdin with a quoted HEREDOC. That pattern is safe for the trivial single-flag comment-add case that BuildCommentReplyInstructions emits, but as soon as a model wraps extra flags around the heredoc on multica issue create / update — assignee, project — the bash heredoc/flag boundary is fragile in two ways the model cannot see: - A 'BODY \\' terminator with a trailing token is not recognised as the heredoc end, so flag lines after it are swallowed into the description (OXY-78: residual flag text leaked into the description, command exit 0). - A clean terminator turns the trailing '--assignee ...' line into a separate failing shell statement, while the create itself already exited 0 with no assignee (OXY-76: assignee silently dropped, no residual text). In both cases the CLI never receives the swallowed flags, the API request omits the fields, and the daemon has no visibility. The created issue lands with assignee_id: null / project_id: null. This commit: * Switches the Linux/macOS branch of BuildCommentReplyInstructions to --content-file with a 3-step recipe (write file, post, rm) so the body never reaches the shell and all flags live on one shell-token line. There is no heredoc boundary for flags to leak across. * Adds a parallel cleanup step (Remove-Item) to the Windows branch so the cross-platform template is one shape. * Rewrites the runtime_config.go ## Comment Formatting non-Windows section to mandate --content-file and explicitly ban --content-stdin HEREDOC for agent-authored comments, citing #4182. * Reorders the Available Commands menu lines for issue create / update / comment add to put --content-file / --description-file ahead of the stdin variant and add a per-line note pointing at #4182. * Updates and renames the affected tests (TestBuildCommentReplyInstructionsCodexLinux, TestBuildCommentReplyInstructionsNonCodexLinux, TestInjectRuntimeConfigLinuxCommentFormattingEmphasizesFile, TestInjectRuntimeConfigIssueMetadataCodexFormattingUnchanged) so the new file-first contract is pinned and the old HEREDOC mandate is in the banned-strings lists. This converges Linux/macOS with the long-standing Windows file-only path, so the cross-platform guidance is now one shape. It also strictly improves on the previous MUL-2904 guardrail by eliminating shell exposure of the body entirely (no body ever reaches the shell, so backtick / $() / $VAR substitution cannot corrupt it). Closes GitHub multica-ai/multica#4182. No CLI or backend changes — --content-file / --description-file already exist. fix(daemon): make comment-posting guardrail provider-agnostic (MUL-2904) (#3654)
* fix(daemon): make comment-posting guardrail provider-agnostic (MUL-2904) Agents inlining a backtick-wrapped token into `multica issue comment add --content "..."` had the shell run it as a command substitution, silently deleting the token; the stored comment never matched the model's intent, so it retried forever — spamming OKK-497 with duplicate comments. The corruption is shell-driven, not provider-driven, so extend the "never inline --content; use --content-file / quoted-HEREDOC --content-stdin" rule from Codex-only to ALL providers: - BuildCommentReplyInstructions: collapse the Linux/macOS non-Codex inline branch into the unified quoted-HEREDOC stdin template. - buildMetaSkillContent: rename "Codex-Specific Comment Formatting" -> "Comment Formatting" and emit it for every provider; strengthen the Available Commands entry and the assignment step-6 examples to steer away from inline --content. - Windows behavior unchanged (file-only; avoids PowerShell ASCII drop). Tests: flip the non-Codex Linux reply test into a MUL-2904 regression, broaden the stdin-emphasis test across providers, and pin the provider-agnostic guardrail. Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(daemon): keep Windows assignment brief file-only (address review) Review catch on #3654: the previous commit added platform-agnostic prose recommending "--content-file or --content-stdin" in the Available Commands entry and the assignment-triggered step-6 example. The assignment path has no BuildCommentReplyInstructions OS override, so on Windows an agent following step 6 literally would pipe its final comment through PowerShell and drop non-ASCII bytes (#2198 / #2236 / #2376) — contradicting this PR's own Windows file-only rule in the ## Comment Formatting section. Make the platform-agnostic surfaces defer to the OS-aware ## Comment Formatting section (the single source of truth) instead of naming stdin. The flag synopsis still lists all three modes. Add TestInjectRuntimeConfigWindowsAssignmentBriefStaysFileOnly: a Windows assignment-triggered brief must not contain any prescriptive "... or --content-stdin" recommendation. feat(editor): add / slash-command palette for invoking agent skills (#3159)
* feat(editor): add / slash-command palette for invoking agent skills Adds a `/` trigger in the chat box that opens a popover listing the active agent's skills. Selecting an item inserts a `[/label](slash://skill/<id>)` token; the daemon extracts those IDs in `buildChatPrompt` and emits an "Explicitly selected skills:" block using the canonical names from the agent's skill registry — labels are display-only and never trusted. Built on Tiptap's `Mention` extension so the suggestion lifecycle, keyboard routing, and IME handling mirror the existing `@` mention UX. Item list is sourced from the React Query workspace cache (no per-keystroke fetch). Gated behind a new `enableSlashCommands` prop so only `chat-input` opts in; other `ContentEditor` consumers (issue editor, comments) are unaffected. Read-only markdown surfaces render the token as a `.slash-command` pill via a custom link renderer + sanitize-schema/url-transform allowlists. Closes #3108 * fix(i18n): add slash_command editor copy for ko/ja The PR added slash_command popover empty-state keys to en + zh-Hans only; locales/parity.test.ts requires every locale to cover every EN key, so ko and ja failed CI. Add the two keys (no_skills_configured, no_results) matching existing skill terminology (스킬 / スキル). fix(comments): revert since-delta to issue-wide, steer to parent thread first (#3535)
#3509/#3523 scoped the comment-trigger since-delta count to the triggering
thread, so an agent resuming a busy issue only saw "+N in this thread" and
lost visibility of new comments in other threads. Revert the count to
issue-wide (every thread), keeping the trigger-comment + agent-own
exclusions, and reshape the warm-path hint to:
- report the issue-wide new-comment volume,
- steer the agent to read the triggering (parent) thread FIRST
(`--thread <trigger> --since`, or `--tail 30` for full context),
- demote the issue-wide `--since` catch-up to an only-if-needed fallback
("don't read them all blindly").
Also fixes the now-stale "scoped to the triggering thread" wording in the
resumed-session no-delta hint (it's issue-wide zero now).

feat(comments): re-add since-delta + cold-start thread read + parent-root write normalization (#3494)
* feat(comments): since-delta new-comment hint + default-on comment session resume (#3432) * feat(db): add unresolved comment count + list filter queries Add CountUnresolvedComments (excludes the agent's own comments) and ListUnresolvedCommentsForIssue. Both are additive — existing callers stay on the unfiltered queries — so old clients are unaffected. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(handler): support unresolved-only comment listing Wire an additive `unresolved` query param into ListComments. Defaults off so an old CLI that never sends it gets unchanged behavior; only true/1 enable it. Rejects combining unresolved with thread/recent (whole-issue filter vs navigation models). Includes filter + count query tests. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(handler): plumb unresolved count + thread root into claim, gate comment resume Populate trigger_parent_id (thread root of the trigger comment) and unresolved_count (excludes the agent's own comments) on comment-triggered claim responses. Both fields are omitempty so old daemons ignore them. Gate comment-triggered session resume behind MULTICA_RESUME_COMMENT_SESSION (default off): resumed comment turns can inherit the prior turn's "Done." final message, so this stays an explicit rollout switch. The runtime-match and poisoned-session guards still apply regardless of the flag. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(daemon): inject unresolved-comments hint + resolve step into agent brief Add a shared BuildUnresolvedCommentsHint helper rendered on both the per-turn prompt and the CLAUDE.md workflow (kept in sync per PR #2816). It ships only the count and the relevant CLI call — never comment bodies — so the server stays cheap. Thread case points at --thread <root>; issue case points at --unresolved. Suppressed when the count is 0. Also add a workflow step telling the agent to `multica comment resolve <thread-root>` once a thread is fully handled, so the unresolved set converges. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(cli): add comment list --unresolved and comment resolve command Add an --unresolved filter to `issue comment list` (wired to the server's unresolved param, rejected when combined with --thread/--recent) and a top-level `comment resolve <id>` command that POSTs to the existing /api/comments/{id}/resolve endpoint, letting an agent close threads it has fully handled. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * refactor(comments): since-delta new-comment hint + default-on comment resume Simplifies the comment-triggered agent flow down to what's actually needed: - New-comment awareness is now a pure time delta: the claim response carries new_comment_count + new_comments_since (anchored on the prior run's started_at, never completed_at so a long run can't miss comments). The per-turn prompt and CLAUDE.md workflow render one line — "N new comment(s) since your last run, --since <ts>" — via a shared BuildNewCommentsHint so the two surfaces can't drift. Cold start (no prior run) falls back to a plain read. - Comment-triggered tasks resume the prior session by default (same runtime), dropping the MULTICA_RESUME_COMMENT_SESSION rollout gate. The "Focus on THIS comment" prompt guard defends against inheriting the prior turn's "Done." marker; GetLastTaskSession still excludes poisoned sessions. - Drops the resolved-based machinery from the first draft: CountUnresolvedComments / ListUnresolvedCommentsForIssue queries, the `comment list --unresolved` flag, the `multica comment resolve` command, and the resolve workflow step. - Removes the verbose cursor-pagination paragraph from the comment prompt; the --thread/--recent/--since flags stay in the CLI/API, just no longer explained inline every turn. Compatibility: new claim fields are omitempty (old daemons ignore them). Comment resume is default-on and affects even old daemons, which already consume prior_session_id. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> --------- Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(comments): collapse reply parent_id to thread root on write Comment threads are a 2-level model (root + flat replies, like Linear/Slack), enforced today only by the UI and the agent path — the CreateComment handler stored whatever parent_id it was handed, and the agent-side flatten walked just one level, so a reply-to-a-reply could land at depth 3+. Add GetThreadRoot (a recursive walk to the parent_id=NULL root) and run both write paths (handler.CreateComment, service.createAgentComment) through it, so every stored reply's parent_id IS its thread root. Readers can now treat parent_id as the thread root without re-walking. The agent-drift guard still compares the raw parent_id to the trigger comment before normalization. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(comments): cold-start reads triggering thread, warm keeps --thread pointer The since-delta rework dropped the thread-first read on the COLD path: a first-time agent fell back to the flat `comment list` dump (oldest-first, cap 2000), burying the trigger's context in ancient chatter. Point cold start at the triggering conversation instead via a shared BuildColdCommentsHint (`--thread <trigger> --tail 30` + a --recent pointer for cross-thread background). On the WARM path, --since is a pure time delta and can miss the triggering thread's pre-anchor history, so BuildNewCommentsHint now also emits a --thread pointer. Both surfaces (per-turn prompt + CLAUDE.md workflow) render via the shared helpers so they cannot drift (PR #2816 rule). fix(create-issue): preserve parent_issue_id through Create with agent flow (MUL-2534) (#3083)
* fix(create-issue): preserve parent_issue_id through Create with agent flow (MUL-2534) When the create-issue modal was opened from the "Add sub issue" entry on an existing issue and the user switched to "Create with agent", the parent_issue_id was silently dropped: switchToAgent only forwarded prompt + actor + project_id, the AgentCreatePanel had no notion of parent context, and the daemon prompt never instructed the agent to pass --parent <uuid>. The sub-issue intent was lost and the new issue landed as a standalone. This fix threads parent_issue_id through the whole pipeline silently — no new editable form field, the existing carry channel handles it: - Frontend: ManualCreatePanel.switchToAgent + AgentCreatePanel.switchToManual now carry parent_issue_id (and identifier, for display) so the sub-issue intent survives mode flips in either direction. AgentCreatePanel reads parent from `data`, forwards to api.quickCreateIssue, and renders a read-only "Sub-issue of MUL-XX" chip so the user can see the relationship. - API: quickCreateIssue accepts optional parent_issue_id. - Backend: QuickCreateIssueRequest validates parent_issue_id belongs to the same workspace (same path as CreateIssue), persists it in QuickCreateContext, and the daemon claim handler resolves the parent's identifier for prompt context. - Daemon prompt: when ParentIssueID is set, buildQuickCreatePrompt instructs the agent to pass `--parent <uuid>` and treat the modal entry point as authoritative. Tests cover all three hops: switchToAgent carry payload, AgentCreatePanel → api.quickCreateIssue, and the daemon prompt's --parent injection (with both identifier-present and UUID-only fallback branches). Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * test(create-issue): cover quick-create parent trust boundary + identifier fallback (MUL-2534) Address review on PR #3083: - Add server-side test for POST /api/issues/quick-create parent_issue_id: same-workspace parent threads through QuickCreateContext.ParentIssueID, foreign-workspace and bogus UUIDs return 400 and never enqueue a task. - Fall back to `data.parent_issue_identifier` in ManualCreatePanel's switchToAgent when the parent detail query hasn't hydrated yet, so the agent chip never renders "Sub-issue of " with an empty tail. feat(comments): thread-internal --tail pagination + reply cursor (MUL-2421) (#2846)
* feat(comments): thread-internal pagination via --tail + reply cursor (MUL-2421) Long threads inside a single issue still forced agents to read every reply once they used --thread, even after MUL-2387 fixed cross-thread noise. This adds reply-level paging so a 200-reply thread can be navigated tail-first without dragging the whole conversation into prompt context. - New SQL query ListThreadCommentsForIssuePaged: same recursive root walk as the legacy thread query, but caps reply count and supports an (created_at, id) composite cursor. Root is unconditional — even tail=0 emits it so the reader keeps the "what is this thread about" context. - Handler ListComments: parses `tail` (non-negative, ThreadTailSet flag preserves the tail=0 intent), threads it through to the paged query, and re-uses X-Multica-Next-Before / X-Multica-Next-Before-Id for the reply cursor. Cursor's meaning is now context-dependent: thread cursor under --recent, reply cursor under --thread + --tail. - CLI: new --tail flag (only valid with --thread; mutually exclusive with --recent), reply-cursor semantics for --before / --before-id when paired with --thread + --tail, stderr label flips to "Next reply cursor" so an operator copy-pasting the cursor knows which scope it scrolls. - Tests cover the new contract: tail=N keeps newest N + root, tail=0 is root-only, anchor on a nested reply still walks up, reply cursor scrolls older replies page-by-page, since combined with tail filters after the cut, and the negative-flag-combination matrix. Out of scope: prompt template update to hint at `--thread <id> --tail 30` on long threads — separate follow-up per the issue. Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(comments): only emit reply cursor when older reply exists (MUL-2421) The thread-tail path emitted `X-Multica-Next-Before` whenever the page filled to exactly the requested reply count, even when there was nothing older to scroll to. So `--thread <root> --tail 3` on a thread with exactly 3 replies sent a cursor that, when followed, returned just the root — a wasted round-trip that surfaced as a phantom "older replies" affordance in the agent prompt. Switch to a `reply_limit + 1` probe: ask the SQL for one extra row, trim the oldest overflow before responding, and only emit the cursor when an older reply actually existed. The exact-boundary case (replyCount == tail with no overflow) now returns no cursor. Also documents `--thread/--tail/--recent/--before` and the cursor semantics in CLI_AND_DAEMON.md, which was the second must-fix in the MUL-2421 review. Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(comments): suppress reply cursor when --since covers older replies (MUL-2421) In the thread + tail + since path the server still emitted a reply cursor whenever there was an older reply on disk, regardless of `since`. If the oldest retained reply on the page was already `<= since`, every older reply was guaranteed to be filtered out too, so the next page only ever returned the root — wasting round-trips until the agent walked the whole pre-`since` history. Mirror the recent + since suppression: when `replies[0].CreatedAt <= since`, drop the cursor. Test covers the exact case from Elon's review: tail=2 overflow, body keeps a fresher reply, but the cursor target (oldest retained reply) is already past `since` — header must be empty. Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * feat(prompt): default comment-trigger reads to --thread --tail 30 (MUL-2421) Comment-triggered agents previously defaulted the trigger-thread read to the unbounded `--thread <id> --output json`, which dumps the full thread into the prompt — exactly the kind of context bloat MUL-2387 fixed at the cross-thread layer but never bounded inside a single thread. Use the new `--tail` flag landed earlier in this PR (server + CLI) as the default for both the per-turn prompt and the runtime-config Workflow: - `--thread <trigger-id> --tail 30 --output json` is the new default. Root is always included so "what is this about" context survives. - If 30 replies aren't enough, the prompt now spells out the reply cursor: re-feed the stderr `Next reply cursor: --before <ts> --before-id <reply-id>` pair back to walk older replies. - `--recent 20` stays as the cross-thread background fallback, with an explicit callout that the same `--before` / `--before-id` flags walk *threads* (not replies) in that mode. - Available Commands core line now surfaces `--tail N` and both stderr cursor labels so non-workflow callers also discover the flag. - `--since` callouts reflect the post-MUL-2421 combinable mode names (`--thread --tail` / `--recent`). Tests (`prompt_test.go`, `execenv_test.go`) pin the new defaults and add a regression guard against the unbounded `--thread` recipe sneaking back in. feat(prompt): thread-first comment reads for agent runs (MUL-2387) (#2816)
* feat(prompt): thread-first comment reads for agent runs (MUL-2387) PR #2787 added --thread / --recent / --before / --before-id to the ListComments API and CLI but kept the agent prompt steering at the legacy "dump everything" recipe. On a long-running issue the flat dump burns context on chatter unrelated to the trigger; agents acting on the trigger want the trigger's thread first. Prompt updates: - Comment-triggered Workflow (runtime_config.go) now anchors step 2 on `multica issue comment list <issue-id> --thread <trigger-comment-id> --output json`. Fallback offers `--recent 20 --output json` with the stderr `Next thread cursor: --before <ts> --before-id <root-id>` line feeding the next-page cursor. `--since` is preserved and explicitly marked combinable with --thread / --recent. - Per-turn buildCommentPrompt (prompt.go) carries the same thread-first guidance so a Codex-style runtime that re-reads the per-turn message every iteration gets the same steering, even if it ignores the injected runtime config. - Assignment-triggered Workflow keeps the mandatory full-history rule (MUL-1124) but now also points at `--recent 20` as the long-issue alternative — this is the place that previously had no thread-aware guidance at all. - Default fallback prompt (no trigger comment, no chat, no autopilot, no quick-create) gains the same --recent hint without --thread (no comment to anchor on). - Available Commands core line surfaces the new flags so the discovery path matches the workflow guidance. Default CLI/API semantics are unchanged: the unparameterized list still returns the full chronological dump capped at 2000, --since still works on its own, and the desktop UI is untouched. Tests: - prompt_test.go: TestBuildPromptCommentTriggerPromotesThreadReads pins --thread <triggerID>, --recent 20, the stderr cursor phrasing, and the absence of the legacy "returns all comments" prose. - prompt_test.go: TestBuildPromptDefaultMentionsRecent guards the no-trigger fallback (mentions --recent, must NOT mention --thread). - execenv_test.go: TestInjectRuntimeConfigCommentTriggerThreadFirstReads asserts the comment-triggered Workflow steers at --thread/--recent, the Available Commands line surfaces the new flags, and the legacy "read the conversation (returns all comments...)" string is gone. - execenv_test.go: TestInjectRuntimeConfigAssignmentTriggerMentionsRecent keeps the mandatory full-history rule pinned AND asserts --recent is offered as the long-issue alternative. Also fixes the recent+since cursor nit Elon flagged in #2787's second review: when `since` empties the page, the `len(seenRoot) >= recentN` check used to emit a cursor anyway. Pagination walks threads in strictly decreasing last_activity_at — if every comment in this page is <= since, every older thread's last_activity is also <= since by transitivity, so the cursor would only invite the caller into a guaranteed-empty walk. Now suppressed; new tests pin both branches (suppressed when empty, retained when at least one row passes since). MUL-2387 Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(comments): suppress recent+since cursor when head thread past since (MUL-2387) Previous suppression only tripped when the `since` filter emptied the page. That missed the mixed case Elon flagged in #2787's second review: the page keeps rows from fresher threads but the head (oldest-active) thread already sits at or before `since`, so every older page is guaranteed empty too. Predicating on `headLast <= since` covers both cases. Add a recent=2 + since fixture that pins the mixed scenario: root1 (last_activity = base+3m) is filtered out, root2 stays, and the cursor is suppressed even though the body is non-empty. Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(prompt): clarify --recent is paging, not a replacement (MUL-2387) Address Elon's second-pass nit on #2816: the assignment-trigger workflow in runtime_config.go used "you may switch to --recent 20", which reads as a replacement for the mandatory full-history rule. Rephrase --recent as a paging strategy ("read the full history page-by-page, not a shortcut that replaces it") so it cannot conflict with the rule it lives next to. The default per-turn prompt in prompt.go opened with "If you need comment history" — that soft conditional contradicts the runtime workflow's mandatory read. Move it to a neutral "For comment history, follow the rule in your runtime workflow file" framing that defers to whatever the workflow says (mandatory for assignment, optional elsewhere) instead of encoding its own policy. Keep the runtime/prompt dual-layer fallback intact — different runtimes propagate the config file vs. the per-turn user prompt with varying fidelity, so both surfaces need the guidance. Tests pin the new phrasing against regression: - TestBuildPromptDefaultMentionsRecent now also forbids "If you need comment history" from sneaking back in. - TestInjectRuntimeConfigAssignmentTriggerMentionsRecent now also forbids "you may switch to" / "switch to `--recent" replacement phrasing. fix(quick-create): default squad-picked issues to the squad, not the leader (#2611)
When the user opens quick-create with a squad selected, the task is enqueued against the squad's leader agent — but the squad, not the leader, is the expected owner. The prompt previously instructed the leader to "default to YOURSELF" using its own agent UUID, hiding new issues from the squad's delegation flow. Surface the squad's id + name on the claim response and branch the default-assignee instruction in buildQuickCreatePrompt: when SquadID is present, point --assignee-id at the squad UUID and explicitly forbid self-assignment. fix: inject squad leader no_action rule for member-triggered comments (#2576)
The per-turn prompt in buildCommentPrompt() only injected the squad leader no_action prohibition inside the 'if TriggerAuthorType == agent' block. When a member (human) posted a comment like 'LGTM', the squad leader was triggered but the per-turn prompt did NOT include the prohibition, causing the model to post noise comments like 'LGTM is a pure acknowledgment — no reply needed. fix: squad leader no_action must not post comment on comment-triggered path (#2573)
PR #2564 only added IsSquadLeader handling to the assignment-triggered workflow path and the Output section. When a squad leader is triggered by a comment (the common case for re-evaluation), the comment-triggered workflow path had NO squad leader special handling, so the model still posted comments announcing no_action/silence. fix(cli): resolve squad assignees in issue create/update/assign (MUL-2165) (#2551)
* fix(cli): resolve squad assignees in issue create/update/assign (MUL-2165) The CLI assignee resolver only searched workspace members and agents, so a quick-create input like "assign to <SquadName>" silently fell through to "Unrecognized assignee: <SquadName>" in the issue description — even though squads are first-class assignees server-side and the prompt's whole point was to route the work for the user. Extend resolveAssignee / resolveAssigneeByID to also fetch /api/squads, teach the actor display lookup to render squad names in table output, update the quick-create prompt and runtime-config command listing to mention `multica squad list` alongside members and agents, and lock in the new behavior with tests. Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(cli): gate squad assignee resolution behind an allowed-kinds set (MUL-2165) The earlier MUL-2165 fix taught resolveAssignee / resolveAssigneeByID to also return (squad, ...), but those helpers are shared. Project lead and issue subscriber callers were still using them, and their target schemas reject squads — project.lead_type has a DB CHECK constraint (server/migrations/034_projects.up.sql:10) and the subscriber handler's isWorkspaceEntity switch only knows member/agent (server/internal/handler/handler.go:414). So `multica project create --lead "<SquadName>"` and `multica issue subscriber add --user "<SquadName>"` would resolve to (squad, ...) and surface as a 500/403 server-side instead of a clean CLI-side resolution error. Thread an assigneeKinds set through the resolver and the pickAssigneeFromFlags helper. Issue create/update/assign/list pass `issueAssigneeKinds` (all three); project lead and subscriber pass `memberOrAgentKinds`. The squads fetch is skipped entirely when not allowed, and the not-found / no-match error wording adapts to the allowed kinds so it never mentions a type the caller cannot use. Helper `withChatTestWorkspaceCtx` mirrors the agent-access-test pattern and loads the member row + SetMemberContext before invoking the handler. 2. Attachment metadata now flows end-to-end: - new sqlc `ListAttachmentsByChatMessageIDs` (batch lookup, mirrors the comment-side query) - `chatMessageToResponse` takes `attachments` and `ChatMessageResponse` surfaces them — same shape as CommentResponse - `ListChatMessages` loads them via a new `groupChatMessageAttachments` helper so the chat bubble can render file cards - daemon claim path pulls `ListAttachmentsByChatMessage` for the latest user message and ships `ChatMessageAttachments` to the daemon - `buildChatPrompt` lists id+filename+content_type and instructs the agent to `multica attachment download <id>` — fixes the private-CDN expiring-URL problem where the markdown URL would have expired by the time the agent acts - TS `ChatMessage` gains an optional `attachments` field 3. Chat composer now blocks send while uploads are in flight: - `pendingUploads` counter increments in handleUpload, SubmitButton uses it to disable - handleSend also gates on `editorRef.current.hasActiveUploads()` to catch the Mod+Enter path that bypasses the button - new vitest covers the "drop large file → immediate send" scenario where attachment id would otherwise be silently dropped Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * chore: drop implementation plan doc Process artefact, not something the repo needs to keep. fix(execenv): switch every provider's Windows reply template to --content-file (#2411)
Three user reports converge on the same Windows-shell encoding bug: - #2198 / #2236 — Chinese, Codex on Win11. Comments / descriptions generated by the agent arrive as `?`. - #2376 — Cyrillic, non-Codex agent ("Ops Lead") on Win11 Desktop. Title preserved (argv → CreateProcessW UTF-16), description / agent reply garbled (stdin → shell-codepage re-encoding). woodcoal's independent diagnosis on #2198 confirms the root cause: Windows PowerShell 5.1's `$OutputEncoding` defaults to ASCIIEncoding when piping to a native command, so non-ASCII bytes are silently replaced with `?` before they reach `multica.exe`. The CLI's stdin parsing is fine; the bytes are corrupted upstream, in the agent's shell layer. This PR ships the fix that supersedes the codex-only attempt in PR #2265 (which is closed in favour of this one): ## CLI Add `--content-file <path>` to `multica issue comment add` and `--description-file <path>` to `multica issue {create, update}`. The CLI reads bytes off disk via `os.ReadFile` and skips the shell entirely; UTF-8 survives end-to-end regardless of `$OutputEncoding` or `chcp`. The three input modes (`--content`, `--content-stdin`, `--content-file`) are mutually exclusive. ## Runtime config `buildMetaSkillContent`'s Available Commands section is rewritten as a neutral three-mode menu. The previous unconditional "MUST pipe via stdin" / `--description-stdin` mandate (over-spread from #1795 / #1851's Codex-multi-line fix) is gone for non-Codex providers; the strong directive now lives only in the Codex-Specific section, which branches on host: - Codex / Linux+macOS: `--content-stdin` + HEREDOC (preserves MUL-1467 fix against codex's literal `\n` habit). - Codex / Windows: `--content-file` (PowerShell ASCII pipe is the exact bug we're patching). ## Per-turn reply template `BuildCommentReplyInstructions` now takes a provider arg and branches provider × OS: - Windows + any provider → `--content-file` (the bug is shell-layer, not provider-layer; #2376 shows non-Codex agents on Windows also hit it). All providers write a UTF-8 file with their file-write tool and post via `--content-file ./reply.md`. - Linux/macOS + Codex → stdin/HEREDOC (MUL-1467 protection). - Linux/macOS + non-Codex → lightweight pre-#1795 inline `--content "..."`. The CLI server-side decodes `\n`, so escaped multi-line works; the agent retains stdin / file as escape hatches for richer formatting. `BuildPrompt` and `buildCommentPrompt` gain a `provider` arg; `daemon.runTask` already has it in scope. ## Tests - `TestResolveTextFlag` — file-source verbatim with non-ASCII (`标题 / Заголовок / 中文段落`), missing-file error, empty-file rejection, three-way mutual exclusion. - `TestInjectRuntimeConfigAvailableCommandsIsNeutral` — every non-Codex provider × {linux, darwin, windows} pins the three-mode menu present + over-spread "MUST stdin" substrings absent. - `TestInjectRuntimeConfigCodexLinuxEmphasizesStdin` + `TestInjectRuntimeConfigCodexWindowsUsesContentFile` — Codex section's per-OS branch. - `TestBuildCommentReplyInstructionsCodexLinux` + `TestBuildCommentReplyInstructionsNonCodexLinux` + `TestBuildCommentReplyInstructionsWindowsUsesContentFile` — the reply-template provider × OS matrix. - `TestInjectRuntimeConfigWindowsCommentTriggerHasNoStdin` — end-to-end AGENTS.md / CLAUDE.md on Windows has no prescriptive stdin directive, for claude / codex / opencode. `go test ./...` and `go vet ./...` clean. feat(quick-create): add project picker that remembers last pick (#2321)
* feat(quick-create): add project picker that remembers last pick Quick-create users targeting one project repeatedly had to restate "in project X" in every prompt. The modal now exposes a project picker beside the agent picker, persists the selection per-workspace, and pins the agent's `multica issue create` invocation to that project so the prompt text doesn't have to. The picked project also flows to the daemon as ProjectID/ProjectTitle and its github_repo resources override the workspace repo fallback — same treatment issue-bound tasks already get. Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(quick-create): move project picker into property pill row Reviewer feedback: the picker felt out of place wedged next to the agent header. Move it into a property toolbar row above the footer, reusing the shared `ProjectPicker` + `PillButton` so its placement and styling line up exactly with the manual create panel. This also drops the bespoke dropdown / aria / label strings that were only needed while the picker rendered inline beside "Created by". Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(quick-create): clear stale persisted project + carry across mode switch Two review-blocking bugs in PR #2321: 1. The stale-id sweep in AgentCreatePanel only fired when projects.length > 0 and only cleared local state, leaving lastProjectId pointing at a deleted project. The next open re-seeded the dead UUID and submit hit the server's `project not found` rejection. Gate on the query's `isSuccess` so we can tell "loading" apart from "loaded as empty", and clear both local state and the persisted preference when the selection isn't in the resolved list. 2. ManualCreatePanel's switchToAgent dropped the picked project from the carry payload, so flipping manual → agent silently fell back to the agent panel's own lastProjectId — potentially routing the issue to a different project than the one shown in manual mode. Forward project_id alongside prompt / agent_id, and add a regression test. Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * test(quick-create): pass new isExpanded props in stale-project tests Main got an expand button on AgentCreatePanel via #2320 while this branch was open, adding `isExpanded` / `setIsExpanded` to the panel's required props. The two new stale-project tests still passed `{ onClose }` only, which CI's typecheck (run on the main+branch merge) caught while my local run did not. refactor(timeline): drop server-side comment + timeline pagination (#2322)
* refactor(timeline): drop server-side comment + timeline pagination (MUL-1929) The cursor-paginated /timeline and /comments endpoints were sized for a problem the data shape doesn't have: prod p99 is ~30 comments per issue and the all-time max is ~1.1k. Time-based pagination also splits reply threads across page boundaries (orphan replies), which the frontend was papering over with an "orphan rescue" that promoted disconnected replies to top-level — confusing UX with no real benefit. Replace both endpoints with a single full-issue fetch, capped server-side at 2000 rows as a defensive safety net (never hit in practice). Server - /api/issues/:id/timeline now returns a flat ASC TimelineEntry[] (matches the legacy desktop contract — older Multica.app builds keep working because the wrapped TimelineResponse + cursors are gone, and the raw array shape was always what they consumed). - /api/issues/:id/comments drops limit/offset; only ?since is honoured for the CLI agent-polling flow. - Drop ListCommentsBefore/After/Latest, ListActivitiesBefore/After/Latest and the timelineCursor encoding. - Replace with ListCommentsForIssue / ListCommentsSinceForIssue / ListActivitiesForIssue (capped by argument). CLI - multica issue comment list drops --limit / --offset and the X-Total-Count reporting; --since is preserved for incremental polling. Frontend - Replace useInfiniteQuery with useQuery in useIssueTimeline; drop fetchOlder/Newer, jumpToLatest, isAtLatest, newEntriesBelowCount. - Remove timeline-cache helpers (mapAllEntries / filterAllEntries / prependToLatestPage) and the TimelinePage / TimelinePageParam types. - WS event handlers update the single flat-array cache directly. - Drop the orphan-reply rescue in issue-detail — every reply's parent is now guaranteed to be in the same array. - Strip the "show older / show newer / jump to latest" buttons and their i18n strings. Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * fix(timeline): address review feedback on pagination removal Three issues caught in PR #2322 review: 1. /timeline broke for stale clients between #2128 and this PR. They send ?limit/?before/?after/?around and parse with the wrapped TimelinePageSchema; the new flat-array response was failing schema validation and falling back to an empty timeline. Restore the wrapped shape on those query params (DESC entries, null cursors, has_more_*=false), keeping the flat ASC array for bare requests. Around-mode now also fills target_index from the merged slice so legacy clients can still scroll-to-anchor without a follow-up. 2. The agent prompts in runtime_config.go and prompt.go still told agents that `multica issue comment list` accepts --limit/--offset and to use `--limit 30` on truncated output. With those flags removed in this PR, new agent runs would hit "unknown flag" or skip context. Update the prompt copy to "returns all comments, capped at 2000; --since for incremental polling". 3. useCreateComment's onSuccess was a bare append to the timeline cache with no id-dedupe, so a fast comment:created WS event firing before onSuccess produced a transient duplicate. Restore the id guard the old prependToLatestPage helper used to provide. Adds two new boundary tests: - TestListTimeline_LegacyWrappedShape_OnPaginationParams - TestListTimeline_LegacyWrappedShape_AroundFillsTargetIndex Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai> * test(handler): fix timeline test assertions for handler-package isolation The TestListTimeline_* assertions assumed CreateIssue would seed an "issue_created" activity_log row, but the activity listener that publishes those rows is registered in cmd/server/main.go — handler-package tests don't wire it up. CI saw 5 entries (3 comments + 2 activities) where the test expected ≥6. Drop the auto-activity assumption: assert exactly 5 entries in TestListTimeline_MergesCommentsAndActivities, and tighten TestListTimeline_EmptyIssue to assert a fully-empty timeline. fix(daemon): tighten quick-create prompt to drop meta-instructions and apologetic Context (#2137)
* fix(daemon): tighten quick-create prompt to drop meta-instructions and apologetic Context
The quick-create prompt was producing descriptions that:
1. Echoed routing meta-instructions ("create an issue for me", "cc @X") into
the User request body, even though those phrases are handled by separate
CLI flags and are not spec content.
2. Emitted a Context section to apologize for resources it could not fetch
(e.g. an image attachment not piped through to the run), instead of
staying silent and letting the executing agent ask the user.
3. Preserved pure conversational fillers ("对吧?", "嗯", "那个…") because the
model treated removing them as forbidden paraphrasing.
Updates the prompt to call out each of these as explicit non-spec material
to strip before writing the description, while keeping the "high fidelity /
no paraphrasing of substantive content" invariant. Adds a regression test
that locks in the new rules at the substring level.
Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai>
* fix(daemon): preserve cc mention links in quick-create description
Stripping "cc @Y" wholesale would have lost the mentioned member's only
routing channel: `multica issue create` has no --subscriber/--cc flag, and
the platform auto-subscribes members by parsing `[@Name](mention://member/<uuid>)`
links from the description body. Without the mention link in the body, a
cc'd member would never get subscribed or notified.
Updates the prompt to:
- Strip only the verbal "cc" wrapper from the User request body.
- Append a trailing `CC: <mention links>` line to the description so the
platform's auto-subscribe logic still picks the mentions up.
- Spell out the contrast for assignee mentions, where --assignee-id is
the routing channel and the body should not double-encode the mention.
Also adds a substring assertion for the "Pure conversational fillers" rule
that was missing from the original regression test.
Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai>
* refactor(daemon): trim quick-create prompt rules to general principles
Reviewers pointed out the previous rewrite traded one prompt smell (over-
permissive verbatim quoting) for another (too many specific rules and
exhaustive bilingual example tables). Rewrites the description block as
general principles with a single representative example each, trusting the
model to generalize:
- "Strip non-spec material before writing" replaces the multi-bullet list
of routing-meta-instruction and conversational-filler enumerations.
- "Include Context only when references were fetched and produced facts;
never use it as an apology log" replaces the three "Do NOT emit a
Context section to" sub-bullets.
- The CC exception (the only operationally non-obvious rule, since
`multica issue create` has no --subscriber flag) is kept inline as a
single sentence and is still locked in by the regression test.
Net: ~16 fewer lines of prompt text without losing any of the rules the
test asserts.

fix(timeline): cursor-paginated timeline to stop long-issue freeze (#1968) (#2128)
* fix(timeline): cursor-paginated timeline to stop long-issue freeze (#1968) Opening an issue from Inbox with thousands of timeline entries used to hard-freeze the browser tab on a synchronous render of every comment + activity. The whole pipeline was unbounded: the API returned every row, TanStack Query cached the full array, and IssueDetail mounted N CommentCards (each running a full react-markdown + lowlight pipeline) in one frame. This swaps the timeline endpoint to keyset cursor pagination and rewires the frontend to useInfiniteQuery so a long issue costs the same as a short one on first paint. API: - GET /issues/:id/timeline now accepts ?before / ?after / ?around (mutex) + ?limit (default 50, max 100); response wraps entries with next/prev cursors and has_more flags. Cursors are opaque base64 (created_at, id). - ?around=<entry_id> anchors a window on the target so Inbox notifications pointing at an old comment never trigger the freeze. - New composite indexes on (issue_id, created_at DESC, id DESC) replace the redundant single-column ones so keyset queries are index-only scans. - /issues/:id/comments default branch now caps at 50 instead of returning every row unbounded; the unbounded ListComments / ListActivities sqlc queries are deleted. Frontend: - useIssueTimeline switches to useInfiniteQuery, exposes fetchOlder/fetchNewer/jumpToLatest + isAtLatest + newEntriesBelowCount. - WS handlers respect the at-latest invariant: comment/activity:created prepends to pages[0] only when the user is reading the live tail; otherwise it just bumps a counter so the UI offers a "Jump to latest" affordance without yanking scroll. - Optimistic mutations adapted to the InfiniteData shape via shared helpers (mapAllEntries / filterAllEntries / prependToLatestPage in core/issues/timeline-cache.ts) and use setQueriesData so all open windows of the same issue stay in sync. - IssueDetail Activity section gets a TimelineSkeleton placeholder during the brief load window plus subtle text-link load-more buttons matching the existing Subscribe affordance (no Button chrome). Top uses a divider for boundary clarity; bottom shows "Jump to latest · N new" weighted slightly heavier when there's unread state. - highlightCommentId now flows into the hook's around parameter so Inbox jumps fetch the surrounding 50 entries directly. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * chore(agent): default comment list to 50 + prompt hint about long issues The CLI's "multica issue comment list" used to default to --limit 0 (meaning "fetch every comment"), which lets an agent on a long issue fill its context window with thousands of rows. The default is now 50; agents that need older history can pass --limit or --since explicitly. The local-coding-agent prompt also gains a single-line note about this in both the comment-triggered and on-assign flows so the agent knows to scope its fetches when issue size is unknown. Autopilot run-only mode is intentionally unchanged — it has no issue context to query. feat(cli): add --assignee-id / --to-id / --user-id for unambiguous targeting (#2114)
* feat(cli): add --assignee-id / --to-id / --user-id for unambiguous targeting
`multica issue {create,update,list}`, `issue assign`, and `issue subscriber
{add, remove}` accepted only fuzzy name matching, which fails in workspaces
where one user's name is a substring of another (e.g. agent "J" vs
"Cursor - J" / member "Jiayuan"). #1642 added UUID acceptance through the
existing flags, but there was still no explicit path that signals "this is a
UUID, not a name" — important for scripts that read IDs from
`multica workspace members --output json`.
Adds an `-id`-suffixed counterpart for every assignee-taking flag:
- `issue list` : --assignee-id
- `issue create` : --assignee-id
- `issue update` : --assignee-id
- `issue assign` : --to-id
- `issue subscriber {add,remove}` : --user-id
The new flags route through `resolveAssigneeByID`, a strict resolver that
requires a canonical UUID and fails with a clear error when the entity is
not in the workspace (no name fallback). A shared `pickAssigneeFromFlags`
helper enforces mutual exclusion between the name and id flags so a script
that accidentally sets both never silently applies one over the other.
Refs MUL-1254.
Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai>
* fix(cli): detect assignee flag presence via Changed, not value-emptiness
`pickAssigneeFromFlags` previously branched on `flag value != ""`, so
explicitly passing an empty UUID silently routed through the "no flag set"
path:
multica issue list --assignee-id "" # listed every issue
multica issue create --assignee-id "" # created an unassigned issue
multica issue subscriber add --user-id "" # subscribed the caller
This is exactly the failure mode the strict-UUID flag was added to prevent —
a script interpolating `--assignee-id "$MAYBE_UUID"` against a missing env
var should fail loudly, not silently degrade to a different operation.
Switch the picker (and the assign-command top-level guard) to use
`Flags().Changed`, so an explicit empty value reaches `resolveAssigneeByID`
/ `resolveAssignee` and surfaces a clear "expected a canonical UUID" /
"no member or agent found matching" error.
Co-authored-by: multica-agent <github@multica.ai>
* docs(cli): cover --assignee-id / --to-id in user docs and quick-create prompt
Follow-up to the --*-id flag rollout: surface the new flags everywhere the
old ones are documented so users (and agents) can discover them.
- assigning-issues.{mdx,zh.mdx}: the page explicitly calls out the
duplicate-name footgun ("first one listed wins, so rename before
assigning") — replace that workaround with a --to-id <uuid> example
- cloud-quickstart.{mdx,zh.mdx}: add a --to-id hint after the substring-
match callout so first-time users learn about the strict path
- internal/daemon/prompt.go (quick-create injected prompt):
- default-to-self: pass --assignee-id <task.Agent.ID> instead of
--assignee <name>; the picker agent's UUID is already in scope and
UUID matching is unambiguous in workspaces with overlapping agent
names (J / Cursor - J / Pi - J etc.)
- user-named: tell the agent to prefer --assignee-id <uuid> using the
user_id/id from the JSON it already fetched; --assignee <name> stays
a fallback for unambiguous workspaces

fix(daemon): optimize quick-create prompt for high-fidelity descriptions (#1969)
The previous description rule ("stay faithful + keep it concise") caused
agents to over-compress user input into vague single-sentence summaries,
losing context that the executing agent needs.
Key changes:
- Replace "keep it concise" with structured two-section format:
User request (faithful restate) + Context (verifiable external facts)
- Add hard rules against information compression and semantic downgrading
- Remove "one-line description" phrasing (UI supports richer input)
- Strip redundant behavioral rules from issue_context.md (already
covered by AGENTS.md guardrails and per-turn prompt)

fix(daemon): prevent Quick Create from inventing requirements beyond user input (#1903)
The description rule in buildQuickCreatePrompt() instructed the agent to "always provide a rich, self-contained description" and "spell out what needs to be done", which caused the agent to fabricate detailed product specs, implementation phases, and design decisions from a one-line input. Replace with a faithfulness-first rule: enrich with factual context (fetched PR details, linked resources) but never invent requirements, design decisions, or constraints the user did not express. feat(quick-create): enrich issue title and description with URL context (#1892)
* feat(quick-create): enrich issue title and description with URL context Update the quick-create agent prompt to fetch context from URLs in user input (GitHub PRs, issues, web pages) before creating the issue. The agent now produces semantically rich titles (e.g. "Review PR #123: Refactor auth to OAuth2" instead of "review PR #123") and includes summarized link content in the description so issues are self-contained. * refactor(quick-create): let agent decide when to fetch URL context Replace prescriptive URL enrichment instructions (hardcoded gh/WebFetch commands) with goal-oriented guidance. The agent now uses its own judgment to decide whether fetching referenced URLs would produce a meaningfully better title/description, rather than being told exactly which tools to use. * fix(quick-create): always generate rich description for agent execution The description was previously optional ("omit if simple request"). Since quick-create issues are executed by agents, richer context leads to better execution — update the prompt to always produce a substantive description with actionable context. * fix(quick-create): remove Chinese text from prompt, use English only Replace Chinese examples in priority mapping and assignee matching with language-agnostic English equivalents, per project coding rules. * fix(quick-create): remove language-related hints from prompt Agent doesn't need to be told about language handling — remove "(in any language)" and "or equivalent in any language" qualifiers. Keep prompt purely in English with no language-related content. |

fix(cli,quick-create): no duplicate issue when --attachment fails post-create (#1849)
Two coordinated fixes for a quick-create case where the agent ended up
creating duplicate issues. Repro: user pasted an image into the
quick-create prompt; the front-end uploaded it and embedded the URL as
markdown in the user input; the agent saw the URL, assumed it was an
attachment, and ran `multica issue create … --attachment "https://…"`.
The CLI POSTed the issue first, then failed to read the URL as a file
(`os.ReadFile("https://…")`) and exited 1. The agent treated exit 1 as
"create failed" and retried — but the first issue already existed, so
the workspace ended up with two of them.
CLI (`server/cmd/multica/cmd_issue.go`):
- `runIssueCreate` pre-validates `--attachment` BEFORE POSTing. URLs are
warned about and skipped (they are never local files); local-path
read errors fail before the issue is created so no half-baked issue
lands. Once the POST succeeds, post-create upload failures only
print a stderr warning and the issue metadata is still emitted —
never a non-zero exit, so callers cannot mistake "attachment upload
hiccup" for "create failed" and retry.
- `runIssueCommentAdd` already uploads attachments BEFORE the comment
is created, so its failure mode is fine; it just gets the same
URL-skip behaviour for consistency.
Quick-create prompt (`buildQuickCreatePrompt`):
- Tells the agent NOT to pass `--attachment` for prompt-embedded image
URLs (they are already part of the description as markdown).
- Hardens the "no retry" rule: even on a non-zero exit, do not retry
`issue create` — the issue may already exist.

feat(quick-create): default assignee to picker agent when user didn't name one (#1836)
* feat(quick-create): default assignee to picker agent when user didn't name one The quick-create prompt previously told the agent to OMIT --assignee when the user's input didn't name a person. That left almost every quick-created issue unassigned, which doesn't match user intent — the user opened quick-create with a specific agent picked, so that agent is the obvious owner. Both prompt surfaces (BuildPrompt for the dispatched message, plus the workflow block in injected CLAUDE.md / AGENTS.md) now instruct the agent: if the input doesn't name an assignee, pass `--assignee "<your name>"`. The picker agent's name is interpolated into the prompt at task-build time so the agent has a literal value to use rather than guessing its own name. The "explicitly named assignee → resolve via members" branch is unchanged. * refactor(execenv): drop duplicated quick-create field rules from CLAUDE.md/AGENTS.md The quick-create field rules (title / description / priority / assignee fallback / project / status) lived in two places — the per-turn user message built by BuildPrompt, and the workflow block injected into CLAUDE.md / AGENTS.md by buildMetaSkillContent. Same content, two sources, easy to update one and forget the other (the assignee-default change in this PR had to touch both). Quick-create is one-shot, so the per-turn user message is always present and is the natural single source of truth. The injected file's quick-create section now keeps only the hard guardrails: "do exactly one issue create, no issue get / status / comment add, exit on CLI error". Those guardrails stay in BOTH surfaces because they're the safety net for providers that don't propagate the user message into resumed-session context. renderQuickCreateContext (issue_context.md) was already guardrails-only — no change needed there. |

feat: quick-create issue (async agent + inbox completion) (#1786)
* feat(server): add quick-create issue async task path Adds POST /api/issues/quick-create which validates the picked agent's reachability up front (not archived, has runtime, runtime online) then queues an issue-less agent task whose context JSONB carries the user's natural-language prompt + requester + workspace. Daemon claim resolves the workspace from the context, and the prompt builder switches to a quick-create template instructing the agent to translate the prompt into a single multica issue create call. Task completion writes a success inbox item to the requester pointing at the newly-created issue (located by querying the agent's most recent issue in the workspace since task start, so we don't depend on agent stdout shape). Failures write an action_required inbox item carrying the original prompt + agent id so the frontend can offer "Edit as advanced form" without losing input. * feat(views): quick-create issue modal + inbox failure CTA Adds a streamlined create-issue UI bound to the c shortcut: pick an agent, type one line, submit. The modal closes immediately and the agent translates the prompt into a multica issue create call in the background. Shift+c keeps the legacy advanced form for users who want every field. The "Advanced" button inside the new modal seeds the shared issue-draft store with the prompt + picked agent so switching mid-flow doesn't lose input. Last-used agent persists per (user, workspace) via a workspace-aware zustand store so frequent users skip the picker on every open. Inbox renders quick_create_done items with a status pin to the new issue and quick_create_failed items with an "Edit as advanced form" CTA that re-seeds the legacy modal with the original prompt. ApiError now carries the parsed JSON body so the modal can branch on the structured agent_unavailable code without parsing the error message. * fix(quick-create): execenv injection, claim race, private-agent permission Addresses GPT-Boy review on #1786: 1. execenv was rendering the assignment-task issue_context.md / runtime workflow even for quick-create, telling the agent to call `multica issue get/status/comment add` against an empty IssueID. Adds QuickCreatePrompt to TaskContextForEnv, plus a quick-create branch in renderIssueContext + the runtime_config workflow that instructs the agent to run a single `multica issue create` and exit, with explicit "do NOT call issue get/status/comment add" guards. 2. ClaimAgentTask serialized only on issue_id / chat_session_id, so concurrent quick-creates on the same agent (both NULL on those columns) ran in parallel — making the success-inbox lookup race over "most recent issue by this agent". Adds a third OR clause that treats "all four FKs NULL" as a serialization key for the same agent, so quick-create tasks on a given agent run one at a time. 3. QuickCreateIssue handler bypassed the private-agent ownership rule that validateAssigneePair enforces elsewhere — a user could POST a private agent_id they didn't own and trigger it. Now routes the picked agent through validateAssigneePair before the runtime liveness check. 4. Clarifies the quick-create-store namespacing comment to match the actual workspace-aware StateStorage convention used by the other issue stores (per-user is browser-profile-local). * fix(quick-create): branch Output section + deterministic origin lookup Addresses GPT-Boy's second-pass review on #1786: 1. The runtime_config.go Output section forced "Final results MUST be delivered via multica issue comment add" for every non-autopilot task — quick-create still got this conflicting instruction even though there's no issue to comment on. Switched the Output block to a three-way switch so quick-create gets a tailored "stdout is captured automatically; do NOT call comment add" branch matching the autopilot variant. 2. Completion lookup was "most recent issue created by this agent since task.started_at", which races against concurrent issue creates by the same agent (assignment task running alongside quick-create when max_concurrent_tasks > 1). Replaced with a deterministic origin link: - Migration 060 extends issue.origin_type CHECK to allow 'quick_create'. - Daemon sets MULTICA_QUICK_CREATE_TASK_ID env var when running a quick-create task. - multica issue create CLI reads the env var and stamps the new issue with origin_type=quick_create + origin_id=<task_id>. - Server CreateIssue handler accepts (origin_type, origin_id) from trusted callers (only "quick_create" is allowed; the pair is rejected unless both fields are provided together). - notifyQuickCreateCompleted now calls GetIssueByOrigin keyed on (workspace_id, "quick_create", task.ID) — no more time-window racing against parallel agent activity. The old GetRecentIssueByCreatorSince query is removed. |

fix(server): clarify silent-exit prompt and pin handoff contract (#1775)
Follow-ups to #1765 review nits: - Tighten the per-turn prompt and AGENTS.md workflow instructions so that "exit with no output" only applies when the trigger is from another agent AND no actual work was produced this turn. If the agent did real work, the standard "post results as a comment" rule still applies — a result reply is not a noise comment. - Add TestAgentExplicitMentionStillTriggers as a positive control documenting the boundary the structural fix preserves: suppressing implicit parent-mention inheritance for agent authors does NOT block deliberate handoffs. An agent that explicitly @mentions another agent in its own content still enqueues a task for the mentioned agent and does not self-trigger. |
