Generally JSON keys are supposed to unique, and their order isn't supposed to be significant, so having the server silently discard duplicate keys is error-prone. Most likely if an RPC client is sending a request with duplicate keys it means something is wrong with the request and there should be an error. After this change, named parameters are still allowed to specified multiple times on the `bitcoin-cli` command line, since `bitcoin-cli` automatically replaces earlier values with later values before sending the JSON-RPC request. This makes sense, since it's not unusual for the order of command line options to be significant or for later command line options to override earlier ones. Bitcoin Core
Setup
Bitcoin Core is the original Bitcoin client and it builds the backbone of the network. It downloads and, by default, stores the entire history of Bitcoin transactions, which requires a few hundred gigabytes of disk space. Depending on the speed of your computer and network connection, the synchronization process can take anywhere from a few hours to a day or more.
To download Bitcoin Core, visit bitcoincore.org.
Running
The following are some helpful notes on how to run Bitcoin Core on your native platform.
Unix
Unpack the files into a directory and run:
bin/bitcoin-qt(GUI) orbin/bitcoind(headless)
Windows
Unpack the files into a directory, and then run bitcoin-qt.exe.
macOS
Drag Bitcoin Core to your applications folder, and then run Bitcoin Core.
